;:edit to add ,, I wasn’t driving! Yeah I said I pulled over but my bestie was driving. U was so excited. I saw it, it happened , we pulled over, I typed this up in less than 2 mins:::
I know; it was there
If you know who I am … yes; I am sober lol. Gotta wait til next month to trip lol.
I just left Giant and got bottled water. Was about to pull onto the highway and saw an orange glowing light. Not super bright; but, way brighter than FAA lights at that distance / Jupiter Venus. I am over average with my familiarity of these things.
Anyway! I pulled over , hopped out the car on the exit ramp, pulled my phone out , and it fkn evaporated. I didn’t see the actual dissipation of particles. But, from the place I saw it in the sky. Was no trees/mountains/landmarks etc. and it was bright enough, I would have seen at least a little light behind it. None of those things are true. I am telling you it was bright,
I don’t want to claim drone. I know the hype rn and the way the lights are, this has been an area of interest my whole life.
But my friend was driving, we were getting into 30, I saw it. Saw another car parking behind a van, and we pulled over too.
I’m not the only one who saw it.
Who else saw it plz tell me someone got footage 😭 or verify I am still 97% sane lol
EDIT
This was orange. No, not a fireball.
Got-Damn the only thing neurolink would be good for, is being able to explain what I saw
It was an orange ball. Not a fireball. It was just. Like, if you saw an airplane light. But zoomed in 10x, bc either a lot bigger, or brighter. And instead of 3 or nore, it was one light. Maybe orange is too deep. I’ll look up the hex code and get back to you. Not white or yellow or fire
I’ll update later
100% sure this was in the sky. Yes, I am sober, irregardless of my post history. (Gimme a few weeks tho before I ask the real questions 😂 I am not even from here, just moved here, so no, I am not on drugs …)
Love and LIGHT!
Seriously I've been craving legit ny style halal for YEARS and I would've never expected to find it in a pizza joint if it weren't for people here recommending it. This is also me throwing my recommendation if anyone else has been looking for good halal, the red sauce is fire!
Looking to get involved more, seeking out some like minded folks… are there any organizations or groups that are meeting or organizing?
With the new year now passed. Yes or no to Brown sugar added to sauerkraut?
My vote is heck no. The tangy(er) the better.
Hi all, I've lived here for just over a year and I'm really struggling to find my place. I moved here from LA for a relationship and I feel very isolated and lost. I'm a 41 yo female who loves cats, reading, shopping, walks, true crime, and pizza. I feel really weird coming here looking for friends or stuff to do, but this seems like a good place to start. Hi, I'm Sara!
Anybody know what's going on there?
I need someone to mix and master tracks I had another engineer record but they need to have logicx?
Sorry if it is a little off at some points, just a general guide of where everything is today.
Hi everyone! My family is moving to Lancaster from Florida this Spring, just in time for my daughters fifth birthday! I used to live in Lancaster but it was over a decade ago so I have no idea what's out there anymore. Anyways, she's having a Wizard of Oz themed birthday party and I'm hoping for good recommendations for bakeries for her cake. Thanks in advance!
I need to install 2 wired cameras at my home. I know I could do an okay job by myself, but looking for someone to help make it look clean. Probably requires drilling into brick, running wires through soffit/walls/etc.
Are there any restaurants that offer a more modern take on traditional PA Dutch foods? I'm not looking for fusiony stuff - just a more -- dare I say -- "farm to table" approach using local ingredients and killer recipes? Chicken potpie made with Shenk's chicken and locally-milled flour? The scrappliest scrapple that ever scrappled?
Hiii ! I am from southeastern PA in the big ol city and I am visiting Lancaster for the first time for a weekend trip and I just wanted to know what are some nice places from local recommendations ! :D I love vintage and gothic stuff and I love fashion too and makeup! I also love anime and gaming too… and I absolutely love music so much and am trying to increase my cd collection so record stores would also be great! Also any thrift stores or somewhere I can find secondhand items… lastly there’s also food :3 I’m not too picky with food and I definitely would want to expand my palette so recommend anything in that area! Thank you so so so much to anyone who helps me out ♡
Edit: I also forgot to say I love museums too so please recommend some if possible !
Need to hear thoughts.
I know moving—whether buying your first home, upgrading, or relocating—can be one of the most exciting yet stressful experiences. As a real estate agent, I see the struggles firsthand, but I also know that no two people’s challenges are the same.
So, I want to hear directly from the people in the area I serve: What's been the shittiest part about moving? Is it the financial aspect? Finding the right place? The overwhelming logistics? Unexpected surprises? Something else entirely? And what do you hate most about realtors?
I’m asking because I genuinely want to understand how I can do better. The real estate world can feel like a maze of who-do-you-know, cryptic processes, and rushed decisions. And I really don't want to be like the plague to people.
If there’s something you wish agents, lenders, or anyone in the industry did differently—what would it be? What would have made your experience easier, more transparent, or less stressful?
I’m not here to pitch myself, just to listen and learn.
I have 2 questions for my wonderful and beautiful neighbors of Lancaster:
-Quality/Experience of Queen St location compared to original Hempstead truck?
-What should my first order be?
Embarrassingly have to admit that I’ve never been… now that it’s down the street, I’m finally ready to experience what everyone’s been raving about.
Does anyone know of any plant stores in the area that have a wide selection of pothos and/or philodendrons?
Not sure why all my employment applications are as cold as the weather, but I'm hurting for work I'm handy in various trades carpentry, basic electrical, basic plumping, basic roofing, fire/water/smoke damage, restoration, the list goes on. I'm offering my services to anyone who might not be able to deal with a big corporation coming into there house(I know how it is) and might just need some trim caulked or something fixed. Please feel free to reach out if you have anything you might need help with.
Just curious to see if anyone else is seeing their UGI gas bill double in December and January? My wife and I have actually reduced our heat and everything, yet our bill has doubled since November.
Looking at the past 2 years in our home, we averaged roughly about a hundred bucks a month for gas. Now it's skyrocketing to about 200 bucks a month just for gas.
Has anyone else seen this trend?
UPDATE AFTER A PHONECALL: I appreciate all the comments here on this post, as well as a few individuals that have noted that last winter was a little warmer than this winter. However, The individual I was talking to on the phone mentioned that my rate difference between December 2023 and Dec 2024 went from .45 to .58 aka a 13 cent increase per CCF. So not only did we use more gas we also paid a higher price for it without proper notice.
I'm livid, But there isn't much I can do currently in the winter. I guess my goal is to replace most the insulation in my attic and try to install some energy efficient windows or something cuz this is ridiculous.
What I find most upsetting is that they're seeking another rate increase.
Hey, looking to connect with some like minded people, I'm 23 and new here, a college student who can't find anyone cool, looked everywhere, maybe reddit?
Also if you're in Millersville that's cool too!
Hi all 👋 my husband and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend and staying in Lancaster. I’ve tried looking for events or things to do and not much is popping up. Does anyone have any recommendations? We’re really into anything and everything aside from theater.
Does anyone know how to get a discount for here? $33 a person, there will be 12 of us.
Edit: I'm looking to get in touch with the specific people who have already picked up Redbox machines in our area. I know how to acquire them... I know they're free game.. etc.
I'm just looking to acquire a few discs that I don't already have in my collection... Nothing for resale or anything. I was able to get quite a few out already.. But was just hopeful to get some more. Please get in touch with me if you are the one picking them up or know how to get in touch with whoever is.
Our son, 6 years old, is in a kindergarten basketball league. They play once a week for an hour, 30 minute practice, immediately followed by a 30 minute “game”.
We can have him practice dribbling in the basement but what we’d really like to do is have him practice on a real court, with a youth (8 foot) hoop. Are there any indoor courts, with youth height hoops in Lancaster that we would be able to go shoot around at? Not interested in joining another league. We’d expect to pay but free would be a bonus.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone know what’s going on about 4:15ish on Lincoln Hwy today? (1/29) I’ve seen about 7state troopers flying through traffic. I checked LC911 but it doesn’t really list police activity.
I’ve never seen police response quite like that before.
Does anyone know what is going on at the Motel 6 across from Wawa in east lampeter? There were about 8+ police cars rushing there. Seemed like a large presence for a run of the mill incident.
Hello community. I just wanted to relay a friendly reminder that Lancaster has a special election coming up (36th Senatorial District) on March 25. Additionally, we also have primary elections on May 20.
You can find all the information you need to prepare and register here. I hope we are all feeling especially motivated to participate.
Long thread on Cabalar their burgers are great and best served with a side of patience.
What's your go to burger on days when they are closed? Ideally a 'to go' burger place (horse inn is also legendary but not my jam).
