Around 745pm on Traynor Ave Friday night I witnessed a possum get run over. I BAWLED my eyes out (HUGE animal lover) seemed like both of his legs were broken, two people came out and stayed with us the entire time (almost an hour until rescue showed up, I called immediately)
These guys offered me water and I believe it was another roommate who even offered me warmth because it was cold out but I just couldn’t leave this little guy.
They got a box and a blanket for him, he willing crawled in and relaxed, he knew we were helping him. He let the one guy wrap him right up and the other kept making sure he was still alive every few mins, we all sighed with relief.
I’ll spare all the details as I am still traumatized myself.
I’m only posting this to share this amazing moment of strangers coming together for a helpless animal who needed kindness and love during such a tragic time. The world needs more positivity 🖤🖤
And a huge thank you to these two guys once again, they were amazing. Not only did they help the possum, they helped me get through this!
And thank you to the few guys who stopped to see what was going on 🥰
Where can I get a purse fixed? The hardware of the strap came out and now I can't use my new purse and I'm sad.
Lots of smoke like an hour ago around the area and many fire trucks speeding towards that area.
Basically looking to up my kids skating, she's a great skaters now but could use some instruction on explosive speed techniques.
A Google search didn't yield anything for me

Hi! I'm new to the K/W area and am looking for places that do all you can eat Chinese/Asian food. Are there any options?
Do anyone know here what brand of sausage they sell at Costco foodcourt? Thanks in advace!
Just because I wouldn’t roll a stop for this tailgater he punched my windshield and ran away crying😂 WRPS charged him with mischief
I am looking for an adult soccer clinic in Kitchener. I am a beginner and want to get trained in one of these clinics. If anyone has any clue or if you know someone who would have been in one of these then please assist me.
Looking to buy Chelsea boots and/or winter boots but only want to buy them in person. I know of Mark's, Sportchek and The Shoe Company.
Any other stores in Kitchener that you recommend?
TIA!
Instead of racing up behind me, flashing your high beams and honking, maybe pay attention to the road signs cause ITS A 40 IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL!
Now, I do purposely put cruise control on at 40 so I don't speed there but seriously people, read the signs! Same thing happens on Erb in front of KW Bilingual. I wish daily that there were more speed traps!
Can I ask you for a favor? Do your best to check labels everyone. Stop the Amazon deliveries, make this iPhone your last. I'm asking the Kitchener techies to start our own social media against the Big 3. Never a better time to get some traction.
I just installed a light fixture but it's missing one ring that holds one of five glass shades to it. The place I got it won't help me source the part. Trying to get one from the manufacturer in China but not holding my breath. Are there any stores in town with random fittings and parts for household type things? Something beyond a typical Home Depot. KW Surplus is the only place I know that has bulk random items.
Thanks
The U.S. government has launched a trade war, and the cost will fall on us as consumers while corporations will carry on unaffected as usual. Our government may have its own response, but we have our own agency with our purchasing power. We can take direct action where our governments cant impose tarrifs...
The best move we have? Cancel all the American services we can.
1. Streaming Services: Cut the Subscriptions
There’s no reason to keep feeding into U.S.-based media giants.
Cancel the following:
Netflix
Disney+
HBO Max (or whatever they’re calling it now)
Hulu
Apple TV+
Paramount+
Peacock
Instead, explore Canadian alternatives—there are plenty. And if you can’t find an acceptable solution, visit other subreddits like /r/piracy for solutions.
If Netflix is non-negotiable, here’s a tip: Get the $5 ad-supported version, use Firefox + uBlock Origin, and enjoy full access without the ads.
2. Music: Ditch the American Platforms
Spotify isn’t American, so you can keep it if you want.
But consider canceling:
Apple Music
Amazon Music
Tidal
YouTube Music Premium
You already know where to go if you need other options.
3. Ride-Sharing & Food Delivery: Use Local Options
These services are extractive, taking money out of local economies while driving down wages. If you can, try your local taxi service or consider setting up carpools with friends and family.
Cancel and remove:
Uber
Lyft
DoorDash
Instacart
If you’re in an area where Voila is available, it’s a better service—check it out.
4. The Big One: Amazon & Walmart Online Orders
This is the hardest change for most people, but if we want to make an impact, we have to stop defaulting to U.S. corporate giants. Try buying local first.
That said, reality is reality—sometimes these companies are the cheapest or only option. If you’re struggling financially, no judgment. But if you have the ability to cut back, even a little, it makes a difference. Tighten the belt where you can.
Final Thought: Were all in this together
The U.S. government has started a trade war that will directly impact our economies. Governments may respond in their own way, but as consumers, we have a responsibility to act where it’s most effective—by choosing where we spend our money and cutting off support to the very companies that benefit from these policies.
Cancel what you can. Use alternatives where possible. And if you need a workaround for media access, you know where to look.
This isn’t about empty protest—it’s about real action with real consequences. Let’s make it count.
I'm looking to see if anyone knows of indoor rinks that offer skates to rent and skating for a few hours Pls lmk !
When i look it up on google, it gives me the "4271 King St E Unit 300, Kitchener, ON N2P 2X7" address. The photos attached to this location look like it's in downtown kitchener, but the address itself is closer to Costco Kitchener. Can anyone confirm the right location? I need to get some documents for my dad certified and it says i need to go to a Service Canada center to do this (not SErvice Ontario). Further, what are wait times like?
Hey all recently moved to Kitchener and looking for a new gym. I don't have much in terms of criteria minus having the following
I am located near the Huron Rd area but have access to a vehicle but hoping to commute under 40 minutes to and from the gym. For reference my last gym was Habitual Fitness and if Kitchener has anything like that I would be ecstatic!

Is Egg roll king closed? Moved out of the area but had a craving for it. I tried looking up online and calling but no answer.
Interested to know what people are thinking with the Provincial Election coming up
I found some old greens I grew over the years. It was all stored in a sealed mason jars, some even had boveda packs in them. But, some are several years old. No the prettiest but probably still has some effect. I would like to give this to someone in need. I don't think the men's shelters accept t these types of donations? EDIT: (I'm jk I'm know the shelter won't take it)
How many remember this place ... the Evergreens at 370 Highland Rd West?
And just down the road was the original A&W . I remember my sister working there on roller skates !
Behind all of this were sand dunes , i had a nasty bike wipe out on the dunes in 67 or 68 :(
I love egg
I will be moving near the Aud in the next few months.
What are your impressions of the area? What food, walking trails, “attractions” should I check out?
Thanks!
I need to resize a plain silver ring, where can I get it done, and about how much would that cost me?
