Margaret Avenue Police

Anyone know why there were like 20 police on Margaret Avenue just off of Victoria St? Wasn’t able to find anything online yet… There were some cops there last night and they were also there when I woke up today until at least 1 PM

I need to get a ring resized (need to make it smaller). I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that would give me the leftover gold when done.

How do I start offering my lenguage services?

Hi, I am a spanish native speaker, moved to Canada when I was 18 and I've been here for 2 years now. I was thinking about making some extra money and thought about offering conversational spanish tutoring sessions. I've noticed many people I know are interested in the language, so I thought it was a good idea...

The problem is that I don't know where and how to "promote" this . I also don't know if people would be willing to pay to have a 1 hour conversation with a native spanish speaker (of course it wouldn't only be the conversation, I would also prepare some content to go over in terms of grammar and structure of the language) .

Does anyone have experience offering this kind of service that could guide me in the right direction? I'd also be interested in hearing any opinion!

Please check and inspect your vehicles brake lights!

I have noticed it so much this year in the region, even more now with the time change. The amount of drivers with partial and completely out sets of brake lights is ridiculous and frustrating.

Town Signs

I'm just genuinely curious and sure someone knows the reasoning behind it. Why are some Blue with a white border and letters while others are brown with yellow border and letters?

DZ driver school recommendations

Essentially the title. Does anyone have any recs for a solid school teaching truck driving for a DZ license? Considering doing the air brake endorsement first and as a stand-alone course. I see some offering weekend courses for both the D and Z portion. Hoping to get driving experience with a straight truck as opposed to a bus with the truck frame.

Where do you get your piercings?💎

hello everyone!!

i have my fair share of piercings from a variety of places. i typically went to Deacon (RIP you kind soul) and have dabbled at perfect image as well. I’m looking for a well trusted artist, who doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for lobe piercings.

i’m looking at getting my third hole on each lobe, plus a stacked hole on top of my one second hole because the person i went to for that years ago absolutely butchered the placement and it’s seriously lower than the other side LOL.

i’ve looked around on my own, have a few places in mind, but i’m always open to the local people’s opinions since i feel that’s the best way to get info. i am down for anywhere in the waterloo region! i appreciate anyone’s help!!!! 😊

Homeless coffee cart folks

Yo anyone know which group / people are behind the coffee cart that was out in DTK serving free coffee to street folks on this cold wet morning?

Maybe early to mid 30s bearded dude and similar woman, maybe a bit older, hard to judge. Had a big cart with coffee dispensers and supplies.

They were chatting and serving folks near King & Queen.

Absolutely awesome. I’d like to help / contribute, so let me know if someone has a lead. And please don’t try to scam me by pretending to be them, I know what they look like! :)

I imagine it’s a church group or other unhoused outreach effort.

Beeswax

Hi all, any locals that sell beeswax in the area? I know you can get it online and in stores, but I'd rather support someone local.

Has a stranger approached you in a store starting off with compliments but turning it into a talk about your financial future?

In Kitchener and Waterloo, unsuspecting shoppers may find themselves approached by seemingly friendly individuals in popular stores like Zehrs, Homesense, Winners, and Marshalls, especially in the Fairway/Stanley Park area. These encounters often begin with compliments and casual conversation, but they quickly take a turn toward the unsettling. The individuals are members of a multi-level marketing scheme, otherwise known as a pyramid scheme, they will inquire about your life, job, and hobbies all under the guise of genuine interest.

This is where the trap begins. The scheme in question is called Remaking Champions, a front for the notorious Amway, which is known as the largest multi-level marketing company in the world. Spearheaded locally by April and Jack Tu, this operation has drawn in numerous participants, many of whom are now entangled in a web of deception.

A closer look reveals an extensive network of individuals involved in this scheme. Names like Delton Clarke-Brighton, Yerie Clake-Brighton, Allisson Terrio, Jordan Terrio, Taylor Brasil, Luc Bellavance, Deliah Bellavance, Darian Lim, Brigitte Lim, Mackenzie Baker, Christina Baker, Austin Blue, Chelsey Blue, Josh Rose, Tyler Francis, Aleksandr Kharitonov, and Martina Kharitonov are just a few among many who have been tracked down on social media. Each one represents a piece of a larger puzzle that aims to lure more victims into an exploitative system.

What’s particularly alarming is the use of tactics reminiscent of cult-like behaviour to recruit and retain members, manipulate religious beliefs, and even marry members within the group. Many Amway distributor groups have been accused of fostering an environment where questioning the system is discouraged, and loyalty is demanded at all costs. This creates a cycle where individuals are not only encouraged to invest their time and money but also to recruit others into the fold—perpetuating a cycle that benefits only those at the top. Including the individuals currently involved in the scheme, who all have full time jobs and are not “semi-retired” like they say they are. A deeper dive into their socials reveals them posing with cars, houses, jewellery and luxuries that are not their own. In real life these people drive modest vehicles, live in modest houses and spend their freetime after work cruising the aisles of stores to recruit others with the false hope of making it to the 6 figure earner.

The allure of financial freedom and personal growth promised by Remaking Champions is nothing more than an illusion. Those caught in its grasp often find themselves disillusioned as they pour their resources into an endeavour that primarily enriches those who initiated them into the scheme.

It’s crucial for residents of Kitchener and Waterloo to remain vigilant and informed about these predatory practices. If approached by someone trying to sell you on Remaking Champions or any similar MLM opportunity, remember: what may seem like an innocent conversation can lead you down a path filled with financial risk and emotional manipulation. Protect yourself and your community from these scams by spreading awareness, reporting these scammers to the store management, and stand firm against such tactics.

Edit TDLR: Shoppers in Kitchener-Waterloo are being targeted in stores by "Remaking Champions," an MLM linked to Amway. Recruiters use friendly chats and fake wealth to lure victims into a pyramid scheme promising financial freedom but exploiting them instead. Stay alert, avoid engagement, and report incidents to store management.

Anyone have good nail tech recommendations?

Title speaks for itself, I want to find a nail tech that wont destroy my nails. I had acrylics for a while and i would go to the same salon, but it took so long for my nails to grow out the bumps and knicks that I really dont want to go back. They would do intricate designs, and the nails were great for staying on the full month. Best part was the price was pretty reasonable, so im looking for something similar but my nail health comes first. Any recommendations are appreciated! Esp if pics are attached ♡ im open to traveling to cambridge aswell
