If any of you comrades are in Peoria, I want to start getting active here. Maybe start organizing meet-up. If y’all are out there, speak up.
I really want to be in a group of people that are passionate about leftist politics. These meetups are not limited to reddit users, but also clubs and organizations. For example, the Dupage Green Party has a public meeting once a month, and I was wondering if there was an equivalent to that for socialists.
"Hey /r/IllinoisSocialists, I'm a member of the Socialist Party over on Reddit's model US government simulator, /r/ModelUSGov. MUSGOV is an active simulation of the American political system with functioning federal and state levels of government.
We are currently the only true leftist party in the sim and working to gain back control of Congress, but not only that we're fighting against the (far) right to win the presidency. The more people we have voting, the more we can push back the fascists, and push through our agenda & platform, which you can find here.
When you go to vote please select a state support and Socialists or Democrats running there so we can fight back against reactionaries!
I really hope to see you registering for our party; if you have any further questions, ask away!

Hey, comrades, I'm a member of the Socialist Party over on Reddit's model US government simulator, /r/ModelUSGov. MUSGOV is an active simulation of the American political system with functioning federal and state levels of government.
Currently, the Socialist Party, the biggest leftist party in the sim, controls the presidency, and we are aiming to keep it this election season, as well as do what we can to keep reactionary Democrats and market-loving Libertarians out of office. The more people we have, the more Socialists who can be elected, and the closer we get to pushing through our platform, which you can find here.
Click here to vote. I really hope to see you registering for our party; if you have any further questions, ask away!

So 16% of our state house (19 members) isn't running for reelection, frankly can't blame them given Rauner's juvenile behaviour. What would it take for you to run, or to support a socialist canditate?
Hello fellow socialists,
I'm /u/daytonanerd and I'm representing the Socialist Party in /r/ModelUSGov. ModelUSGov is a political simulation on reddit where we debate, legislate, and vote. We are having our elections now and we really need your support. There are many different parties in the simulation, some of which are very resistant to socialist ideas, and we are competing to defend our excellent social programs, to protect LGBT+ and ethnic minorities, and to implement socialism.
We are a great group of passionate political enthusiasts and socialists, and we'd love your support in our elections. We are running lots of excellent candidates, especially in Great Lakes (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan) The Atlantic Commonwealth (New York, Massachusetts, Maine), and Western State (California, Washington State, Alaska), but we are running in every state.
Thanks!
/u/daytonanerd

This is one of the first successful student unionization votes, and, as far as I know, the only undergraduate student vote. More info to follow.
Hey friends, this thread popped up back when the sub first started but it's archived at this point, so here's another one just like it!
Same as before, this thread can be used to discuss various things pertaining to socialist stuff in the rural areas, be it new orgs, news, or big events. Just remember opsec is important and don't give away personal info.
Facebook event/page links are fine as they are easy enough to find on Facebook, but if the event/org isn't publicly known about then it'd be safest to avoid talking about it.
