I was offered a maintenance technician position at an apartment complex for $18/hour, which includes a discount on a nice apartment as one of the benefits. I currently make $19/hour, so it would be a slight pay cut. I don’t have much experience yet and need to gain some, but I’m wondering if there are other maintenance jobs at facilities or buildings I could look into. I’m also not a fan of driving around, so I’d consider a service technician role as a backup option, though I haven’t heard back from any applications in that area. I also recently got a call for an installer helper position. What are your thoughts on this situation? Any advice?
I’ve got a walk in freezer probably 20 years old that when working properly chills down to -10F. Recently, when fired up the freezer will chill down to the goal temp of -10, but over the course of 24-36 hours it starts to creep up to above freezing and does not recover.
If I shut it down and defrost it, it gets cold again but only for the 1-2 days I described before getting warm again. Can you help me?! I’m in extreme remote Alaska with no technicians within 100 miles by boat or plane.
No model serial visible, just taking out screws at this point but it looks like the whole thing has to come out to get to gas valve?
Hi everyone, I’m a local 787 5th year apprentice. I got laid off recently in the last week of November.
A few weeks before I got laid off, I had already received written and signed confirmation letter of my hours by the employer for my G1. Little did I know I would be laid off weeks later.
This week I got an email from the Union saying my letter is now voided due to my current employment status (being laid off/unemployed). Can the union really do this? I emailed TSSA regarding this and still waiting for a response.
Has anyone else experienced this or know someone who has? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Name something tighter than this spot. Asking for a friend

Last night I ended up hitting the common wire on the defrost board on accident for my Lenox… ik Lenox sucks haha. Well here’s why I’m stumped. My tstat went blank and I thought I popped a fuse. I opened up the air handler and the fuse wasn’t popped. Im getting full voltage from the transformer as well. Well I got power back on and the heat pump ran for 10 minutes and it stopped calling and the tstat went blank. Well I went back up stairs got it running again and ran aux heat all night just fine…. I just bought a defrost board hoping it’s a bad board from my clumsy dumb mistake 😕. If anyone has any ideas before I put this new board in lmk !!!
We installed an amana communication furnace.
We installed a daikin one communication Stay.
The customer has a non communication ac.
Ac has been added to stat.
Stat is not turning on ac.
Ac has lp shutoff kit. We are checking for voltage at 24v line. Getting nothing.
Unit has been wired in these 4 ways.
Unit has 2 rails. A data rail with rc12 and a standard rail with rwcy1y2.
Standard rail has voltage to r but is not sending power out of either y1 or y2 curing cooling test mode.
Currently waiting on support so I figured I’d give you guys a run.
