Please help!! My AC is not working and I’m not sure why!! A few weeks ago it randomly shut off at night. I had no clue how to fix it, looked up some common issues, and didn’t see any solutions. I put batteries in… and the next day it turned on out of out the blue? But I didn’t REPLACE the batteries, I literally added batteries to the device which had been running without batteries for nearly 2 years now. It stopped working again, and maintenance is saying that they likely won’t be out till next week since it’s not an emergency. The screen itself is on/working and so is the app - it’s just not controlling the air. I’ve flipped the breaker a few times and changed the batteries. Anyone know what to do here? 😭
Our accent air ducted aircon unit is blowing hot air instead of cool air when on. The setting is on cool and is at a lower temp and we can't figure out why it's doing so. There's an option for "room" and when pressed says the temp is at 32.1 Celsius, when I try to lower it, it's as if the setting is stuck on that and I don't know how to change it. I've tried searching for the user manual but no such luck. I reset the unit and have tried switching it off and on from the switch board but also no change. Any help would be appreciated, we're heading in to Summer here in Brisbane and it's excruciating.

New to reddit and can't figure out how to add a picture 🥲
AC HAD Leaking coil....I paid to have guy come tell me this bc maint. Kept giving me excuses.Only then did maintenance remove entire a coil burning shit hauled downstairs to a ac fix it place. Repaired coil removed all the yuk on inside ( doesn't reak as bad) maint. then put it back in the wall. Brings us to 5 months later (tonight )I look, see this, with a loud hissing sound coming from the top brassy connector, I suspect should have the taped insulation. Is it supposed to make that noise from that specific spot and what is it?
I spend most of my time in a room that has a horizontally-sliding window, but doesn't open to pure air - it has a thin metal mesh to protect against insects / dust / intruders. This prevents me from installing the typical window ac units that protrudes onto the outside, but I was wondering if a vertical system such as this Kogan unit, which appears to instead protrude inside, only requiring a tube for condensation to go outside. Looking online, the limited videos seem to suggest it would be fine, but I wanted to ask the question here to see if people thought the presence of such a mesh might inhibit its performance.
Any and all advice / knowledge is appreciated
Does anyone know where I can buy this for my hitachi air con in Sydney , I took this off from my house ceiling
If so where would the switch be?
We recently had our air conditioners serviced at my workplace and got quoted for some repairs to be done. We have 7 Ducted Split Systems and to replace the valve Thermistators in two of the units, we have been quoted $1315 AUD excluding GST. Located in Melbourne Australia Thanks 🙏
I'm trying to actually take care of our new AC since we had to get rid of the last one due to mold. I'm so confused, if you read general AC advice online, it says to open everything up and clean the coils. But if you read the user manual for the windmill it just says to clean the filter and wash the outside of the unit. I don't understand how the inside could possibly be free of grime. My partner is trying to open things up but it's pretty locked down. Help?
Hi guys! Ano mare-recommend nyo na legit na tipid talaga sa kuryente na inverter windowtype. Thanks in advance sa sasagot hehe
I'm not great at this stuff, and I just want to open my (indoor) unit to reset it (model is MSAEB-12CRDN1-MP0W). All the YouTube videos show someone pulling the front panel up and out, but I can't get this to work and I've pulled on it everywhere. I am able to get the screen off the top of the unit, but under that I can't feel any latches or anything to remove the panel. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have scoured the Internet looking for a part for my ge model apfd06jaswg1 portable air conditioner. Anybody know any other brands that have a compatible exhaust fan for that model?
We like to sleep COLD so we've been using a window AC at night in our bedroom. But they don't work much when the outside temp is below 60F. Opening the window in winter is not feasible either due to someone in our neighborhood burning a chimney and it makes our entire room smell like smoke. So I was looking at a single hose portable AC since it doesn't rely on warm outside air. Would this work well in winter time (if it does I'll just use it all year long)?
I've always ran hot and my wife is starting menopause, so I need to get this situated before she kicks me out of the bed all winter 😂
I’m trying to use the timer function however it’s asking for a specific hour & minutes, i’d like to change the current time which is very off atm but can’t seem to figure it out
We have a newly installed inverter window type AC, the TCL 1HP unit and it shows P1 in its display. After searching on TCL’s website, P1 means: overvoltage/undervoltage protection. How to go about this? Thanks
Portable ac is 3.5kW and the kogan one is 1.75kW now i know the portables are known to be less efficient, but the window one is only 1.75kW and the portable one is 200 dollars cheaper for 3.5kW so im wondering how much of a drawback the portable unit is, where i live we have different type of windows (sliding horizontal windows) so the typical window unit isnt an option for me.
I mean, will
Bought the Costco pinguino in 2022. Taking it out of the window I notice it was dirty. I started to unscrew all visible screws but still have yet to take apart the back to get the built up dust. Anyone have any luck? Am I missing something?
My house has a 1.5" abs pipe connected to two ac/air handler units, that connects to the sewer system. Slab on grade, 50+ years old.
This week I had a stoppage in the line where the second unit ties into the horizontal line that both units are connected. The 3/4" line from that unit was directed into the 1.5" vertical pipe extending from the slab. that joint/connection is not air tight, and that was the point water was leaking out of onto the floor.
While working to remove the stoppage, I used a wet vac to suck out as much water as I could, and during that process I noticed a strong sewer smell, not surprising. But it got me to wondering if I should install a P-trap between the ac unit and the vertical pipe to the sewer? Has anyone else considered this or actually done it? Is there a trap built into the ac condensation collection area?
Just hoping for a bit of input before permanently re connection the line.
Thanks
is this normal sound? the high pitched sound is so annoying.
5k BTU for a 14 square meter room Low cost to run Good value for money, less than 500 euros Remote control trough an app, I really like lg thinq as I have an LG fridge, but I have seen bad reviews about some LG acs not lasting long
Can't be a window, central ac
Ideally portable but I also want one or two, trough the wall recomendations
The apartment complex I live in comes around twice a year to change us from A/c to heat and vice versa. Ever since they switched us to heat, it's been consistently over 80 degrees inside our unit. When they do this they go into a closet on the porch, but the only thing in there is the water heater as far as I can tell. Any ideas how they are doing this? it's been unbearable and I need A/C and they won't tell me how they do it.
Aircon just automatically fan after a few hours but i alrdy off timer
Hello everyone,
I bought a beko ac. Its my first night using it. Is it normal that it sometimes turns off and turn back on after several minutes? Has anyone experienced it too? Your feedback please. I need to know if I have to return or have it checked. Thank you!
Hi All,
I have a danby dpa058b6wdb 10k btu portable AC. It has 3 modes(AC, Dry and Fan) and in the middle of the night it started making beeping like sound from the back of it. It just happens in ac mode and doesnt happen in other 2 modes. It’s not very loud, but noticavle. Seems like it’s coming from the inside of the unit
It doesnt have any error codes on the control panel on the top. Its plug has test & reset buttons with a light, but the light is green like in normal position. It is plugged into a normal (non-gfci) receptacle, which shares a breaker with other receptacles in the room, but nothing else is plugged into any of those while we turn on the AC. Should this be plugged into gfci? We live in a high rise, with centralized HVAC and building has turned off AC for the season, so using it for the first time this season. I had cleaned its filters and the drain before turning it on this season.
Could anyone from here help me troubleshoot this beeping like sound as it has started worrying me? Appreciate your help in advance
So I've got weirdly small sideways windows, and I've been trying to find something I can use to actually cool my bedroom beyond a small fan. I can't really use a portable one, since the window is too far from any exposed floor to put the actual unit. And so far I haven't found any that are small enough to fit. And I don't own the place, so I can't go and cut holes in the wall or anything. I've already checked the datasheet from this sub, and the smallest one it showed was still a good few inches too wide to fit. I appreciate any help I can get.
Hey all, just a heads up. I am very much a beginner when it comes to AC units, let alone window ac units. I go to a college that is in a rather warm area, and because I live fifteen floors high, our floor is often extremely hot (i’d assume bc heat rises??). Bc of this heat, i turn the AC unit down to the lowest setting to try and cool down my room, yet even though it is at its lowest setting, it is not blowing air that is of the displayed temperature.
Attached is a picture of the unit. Currently, i have it on the fresh air setting (options are close, fresh air, and vent) and on the cool setting.
Seriously any help is appreciated - i just want to sleep in a cold room and not sweat. Let me know if more info is needed as well
