A place for your favorite hip hop cassettes.

Do you love hip hop? Do you love physical media? Do you love cassettes? Well then this is the subreddit for you. Coming from r/hiphopvinyl, I decided there's always room for another niche subreddit, so here it is, a subreddit dedicated to hip hop cassettes.

Rules:

1. Be nice and respectful to fellow collectors.

  • Straight forward rule here. Be respectful to other users. If you dislike an artist/album being posted, please do not cause a scene/start a flame war. No name calling or personal attacks. Users who violate this rule will be given one warning, then banned on the second offense. We're all lovers of hip hop, in all its forms, so please remember this when considering your comments.

2. Posts must be related to the sub.

  • Similar to the no spam rule, keep posts/comments relevant to this sub. If it's not related to hip hop and cassettes, please refrain from posting.

3. No spam.

  • Please do not post links to your music, even if it's related to hip hop. If you have a mixtape/album being released on tape, then please feel free to share. Otherwise self-posts not related to physical tapes will be removed as spam.

4. No low-effort posts.

  • All I ask is that you don't photo dump. If you're making a post, please say a little something about what it is you're posting. Whether it be you favorite tracks, a review, background information about the artist/album, etc., just say something. Posts with no comment from OP will be removed.

For Fans of Raw, Reflective Hip Hop — Cal Combs new EP is a must listen

NYC-based rapper Cal Combs just dropped a new EP produced by D.Dahlinger, and it’s definitely worth a listen if you’re into hip-hop with layers. The project has this hazy, atmospheric feel, almost like a musical translation of life in New York City—raw, complex, and constantly shifting.

Each track pairs introspective lyrics with intricate, head-nodding beats, creating a soundscape that really pulls you into the city’s gritty pulse. D.Dahlinger’s production adds this moody, immersive quality that complements Cal’s storytelling and makes the whole project feel cinematic.

Perfect for fans of hip-hop that pushes boundaries and gives you something to think about. Would love to hear what you all think of it!

Loose tapes/inlays

Does anyone have a collection of loose tapes and/or inlays they would like to part with? I have a bunch and there is nothing more satisfying than matching them up and preserving the physical formats. Let me know!!
