Hey everybody,
My name's Sean, grateful to find this community. I'm a producer/engineer and have worked with the likes of Boogie, and BROCKHAMPTON. I wanted to share a video of this new supergroup from L.A. I've been working with called 3 P.M. I directed this video that they dropped today for their debut single titled "Soulful", which is produced by French producer L'indécis.
Here's a link to the video: https://youtu.be/bDBNPtfd_b4
Feel free to let me know what you guys think!
In the beginning of the clean vevo version theres this synth thingy:
https://youtu.be/DI3yXg-sX5c?t=48
but in the dirty (original) version at the same time there isnt
https://youtu.be/OKGJOtRaqMg?t=13
Is there any dirty/original version that includes that thing from the vevo version that I guess they just decided to add, because it makes it 10x better.
I can’t seem to find it anywhere on this beautiful thing we call the World Wide Web, and every other option equals mucho dinero...HELP!!
Hey y’all, do u guys know any great concept albums. I’ve been re-listening to Undun Damn TPAB GKMC Really enjoying these so u guys have anything similar pls tell. :)
First you need to listen to Bad at Love by Halsey.
Now hear me out, without context on her as an artist etc how are those not "rap" verses?!? The rhyme scheme and flow on the beat is phenomenal. Now she is slightly singing the flow but artist like Kid Cudi do this as well. Then because she can actually sing she sings her own hook or chorus. The point I'm trying to make; this feels like an untouched sub genre that think flows really nicely. Do you agree or disagree? any other songs you can think of that do this?
I have always loved hip hop music but I tend to have unpopular opinions on certain legendary artist. The artist I'm going to discuss today is Nas. Now, I dont dislike Nas but he never really blew me away with his music. Yet a lot of people have him in they're top 5 above in my opinion they're many rappers that are better then him in many categories if not all. So my question is why does he get so much love? I personally think that when enough people or the right people say a person is very good whether they personally agree or not they'll just go along with what others are saying. I understand why current rappers dont say anything bc social media will crucify them. Prime example of this crucifixion is lil xan (even though hes trash and his opinion means shit when it come to rap.) Just imagine drake saying he thought DMX was better then pac.(not saying dmx is bad just an unpopular opinion when it comes to rap) he'd get blasted and shitted on by so many people.
I can think of a few, but most of them got their chance due to their parent being famous or whatever.
Are there any classic hip hop artists that wasn't really a rags to riches story, that you can think of? I don't mean a rapper that used to deal or anything like that, just a wealthy family, but isn't really known for the early wealth. I think Tupac was mildly well off before getting big, right?
It's so prominent in other fields. Just curious of some examples! Weird pre-sleep showerthought question
Hello everyone so i was searching for some groups where you could talk about hip hop stuff and while i was searching on reddit i found this one.And i decided to write something about myself since i'm new here so i'm a guy who has always loved hip hop and always been inspired by it and i've been writing songs for like a long long time. And i have written two songs recently called "Stronger" and "Never been afraid".So in these two songs i have mentioned that people should never give up on their dreams and they should always pursue their dreams no matter what happens they always have to accomplish their dreams. So i would really love your support right now because i am literally trying to share my work here. Hi guys I'm new to hip hop and have several tracks I like, (the spiderverse soundtrack for one) I was hoping for some reccomendations to introduce me to hip hop and the players involved, any input appreciated
I promise I am not your typical SoundCloud rapper, and really don't like labeling myself as such. If you want to hear true, original, intelligent lyrics in hip-hop music, give my music a listen if you get a chance. You will not be disappointed.

Secondly, the digital age of music has stripped the music industry of what used to be it's most profitable asset. The actual music! Because music is now virtually free, not only are only artists unable to make money from their music, because labels have given distribution to 3rd party digital platforms, but the writers and more importantly, the producers can't either. Now is this the label's fault? Or us the consumer, who spent years on limewire and illegal torrent sites before streaming services became the main platform for the hip-hop audience?
This new hip hop song/music video has a rock & roll heavy metal sample in it that i never heard in hop hop before.
