Common & Pete Rock

This album is my contender for best of the year. Anyone else feeling this one? I saw a lot of hype about it prior to the release, but it’s been kind of quiet since dropping. Red

Nas - Stillmatic signed

Playing Nas' comeback/rebirth album signed by himself during a recent concert in Vienna. Love the 2024 that he did there with the autograph. Favorite songs - Stillmatic (The Intro), Got Ur Self A Gun, 2nd Childhood. What's yours?

Baby Mail Drop to Complete the Set

Vinyldigital RE 2017. 180g Gatefold.

hx on the original: Lost & Found: Hip Hop Underground Soul Classics was double-disc album containing previously shelved albums Center of Attention, by InI, and The Original Baby Pa, by Deda.

Released on October 27, 2003 on BBE Records. Both albums were recorded in 1995 and produced entirely by Pete Rock, except for five overall tracks produced either by Grap Luva or Spunk Bigga. Neither album had been officially released until the compilation came out.-wiki

Madlib “Sound Ancestors”

My collection is mostly hip hop beats and jazz. Just added this recently. Really enjoying the mix of samples and avant garde jazz influences.

Something of a hip hop chessboard

Vince really loves his stark album covers. Other highlights are recent pickups of Conway’s Reject on Steroids mixtape, and a copy of Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals’ recently pressed Tiny Desk performance

Carti & ODB

Newest additions. Two different sort of masterpieces. Though there is some sort of manic energy to both albums that I enjoy.

Can anyone give me a good answer on why some of the most sought after albums from 90’s hip hop haven’t been reissued or repressed? Other than a good RSD 30 year anniversary repress.

I find myself running into so many dead ends while looking for 90’s albums that are just too damn hard to find, or that the prices of these albums are astronomically high (Discogs, eBay, HHV Records/90’s Tapes). I just want to be educated on why that is. Does the artist(s) or their record labels find it not worth it? Do they feel like people won’t buy their albums if they wanted to release a nice batch of represses or reissues? I’m about 2 years into the vinyl game and I don’t know the logistics of any of this. Thanks in advance.
