Upgraded to new bars and need a longer clutch cable. I saw baker has a heavy duty throw out bearing. Not sure what else I could upgrade while Im doing the work. Thanks for any help.
I have an 03 fxdl, I’m putting the racetech fork kit in (part # flek s30) and the springs are significantly shorter. I almost think that the kit is wrong. I have 39mm forks and I have one fork almost done, just doing the preload. Anyways after getting it to 23 mm of preload my pvc spacer is 10” long. That doesn’t even seem right. Any help?
I have $1500 to spend on a stock 2004 fxd. Should I do suspension or exhaust/intake first? Or something else?
I own an 05 low rider and the other day my clutch cable snapped. Should be a small thing, right?
Wrong!
Wrong because I live in the UAE. The only 2 dealers in the country don't have it. It has to be ordered, 2 or 3 weeks minimum (the last time they ordered something for me it took a month though. FFS!!
So, I check on amazon. They only sell a Chinese knock off. Fine, it's cheap and it will arrive in 1 week. At least it will keep me going for now.
The cable arrived today, I start installing it and it's fucking metric!!!
Looks like I'm stuck. Now that the weather is finally good. I'm so effing pissed of!!
New to dynas, just got a 2000 fxdx frame and swingarm for next to nothing (yes has a title) and I have a 06 110 twin cam. I'm curious what I'm going to need to make this all work. I plan to leave it carbed for ease of tuning. Lookin to the guys that did all this already.
I am starting a rebuild on my 1998 Dyna Low Rider. My plan is replacing the pistons.
From my understanding, I need to take the cylinders to a machine shop. This is where my questions start.
Do I need to purchase new pistons and bring them to the machine shop so they get them sized correctly with the cylinders?
When I purchased the bike, I was told it was bored “30 over.” What does that mean and what size pistons do I need to buy?
What do I need to ask the machine shop to do?
What all parts of the engine do I need to take to the machine shop to drop off?
Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. I am sure just dropping my bike off at a shop would be easier, but I would really like to learn this process.
Thanks!
