I took this picture of the back of the headstock. It's a Frankie guitar replica but I feel like the body was painted to look like a Frankie. I put this guitar on layaway at my local pawn shop and I want to know if it's legit and if the $1000 price is worth it. I tried looking at forums online and couldn't find anything.
I’ve got the itch for getting into some Drop B and Drop A songs and want to get the right guitar to complement my Chris Cornell ES-335 and my Fender Strat American Standard.
I currently have my eyes on PRS SE Mark Holcombe because I’ve wanted a PRS anyway.
Was also looking at the Matt Heafy epiphone.
Thoughts/Reviews/Ideas are very much welcomed.
Looking to get a tod10n but its hard to find sellers here in the philippines. Is this authentic? The seller said its a legit tod10n and the shop is highly rated. My other option is to get one from audiophileph, but it costs 7k more and still out of stock.
Does anyone know if Fender will have a Black Friday sales that is worth waiting for? There is a FSR guitar that I am probably going to end up getting and will not be available elsewhere. Just wondering whether anyone has input before I make a decision.
I’m looking to add a resonator to my collection, I’m looking at a few guitars and trying to decide on some budget guitars. Realistically I don’t play out and wont be anymore. Since resos are like hens teeth, I don’t have too many options to try out guitars. I did try a metal body gretsch that I liked, other than the neck (too much of a V). My realistic budget puts me into the Gretsch/Johnson/Recording King/Republic realm. I could stretch into 80s dobro, but nationals are right out.
I used to have a RK and a Republic Tricone square neck, but now have a Gretsch spider cone, which is really fine for my bedroom, porch playing.
Wondering what the internet thinks. I found a Johnson Tricone for $300, which would suit the bill, other than that I hate the logo (I know — shallow), or a few Republics, which would be sight unseen purchases on Reverb.
Any suggestions? I know I see other peoples posts and I’m always thinking buy that and play it, you’ll have more fun on it than no guitar. Not that I have no guitar, but I have been playing the same ovation since the 1980s.
It sounds silly I'm sorry but I really can't find a solid answer. I won't be taking any additional gear. How do I check it in and whatnot?
Thanks yall. I'll be flying delta if that makes a difference.
Got this guitar when I was younger but rarely played it. Replaced the humbucker probably thinking it would make me a better player :-) It's in excellent condition. Still have the case it came in.
I've seen a few for sale but I'm trying to determine a reasonable price if I wanted to sell it and where would be best to sell it. I know a store would probably give me less but at least I'm just dealing with a store.
Hi, most cheap tortoise shell pickguards look super cheap but Fender is trying to rip everyone of with their 70$ ones.
Whats a good brand in between?
I'm going back to study guitar after a very, very long hiatus and I would like to practicing traditional jazz. Keep in mind that I am not good, I'm just a beginner, and I won't become good. I just love music and want to play to the best of my possibilities, which is pretty mediocre anyway.
Having said that, I have a budget for a nice beginner guitar (like, below $700), and I singled out Ibanez AF95FM and AG95 as possible options. You guys think that there could be reasonable choices? Unfortunately I won't have the chance to try both and will have to buy online. Currently I have a slope shoulder acoustic which I believe is pretty much the same size of the AF95. I am not comfortable with bigger guitars, like typical square shoulder dreads, due to health issues. So I was thinking that maybe I could go for the AG to be even more comfortable. Any suggestion or opinion in general between AF and AG?
I want to split my money evenly between guitar and amp, but the choices are so many that I can't decide which one to go with. I personally love Stratocaster for the Design.
Edit: I want no used guitars.
I'm really conflicted right now. I recently took the leap and got a guitar for 1k, a Schecter Silver Mountain FR S. I bought it at a heavily discounted price (about 50% off), because it had some minor factory blemishing. I've played the guitar for some time, but there's one issue I have: I don't really use the Sustainiac pickup and the trem. I'm not a lead player, so I have 0 need for these features.
Now I feel like I've paid a premium for features that I don't even use hence I'm thinking about returning it. Those features don't bother me at all, especially since I have a friend who's kind enough to change my strings on a Floyd, but I'm thinking that I could get something way cheaper that plays just as well, just without those premium features.
Another thing that I'm not really fond of on the Schecter is the neck profile. I don't hate it, but it's far from my favorite.
One guitar I'm thinking about getting as a replacement is the FGN Boundary Iliad. I've always wanted a tele style guitar, but I don't really like Fender necks. I also love Japanese made guitars ever since I've had a MiJ Ibanez S470.
Essentially I'd lose the Sustainiac and the Floyd Rose which I don't mind, but the thing I'd lose along with it are the SS frets which are absolutely awesome and polished like no other on the Schecter. The FGN is discounted for about 450 right now. I'm thinking since it's Made in Japan it probably plays just as well and serves me the same, just without the premium features.
What would you do in my position?
Jackson Pro Plus Series Soloist SLA3Q. Man this thing is smooooooth. Feels and sounds terrific out of the box, but I’m about to oil the fretboard and throw a set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound on there.
Thank you Franklin Guitar Works!
I don't know a lot about guitar gear but i want to buy these pickups, because I like gibson tone, to replace mine because they're old and sound bad but im not sure if theyre good. If not, can anyone recommend some good buget pickups?
Hello! I will preface that I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to gear and the WHYS
I've owned fender, jackson, dean, epiphone and a few acoustic like yamaha, and takamine. My biggest influences are Mayday Parade, Dayseeker, and any sort of and in the genre of pop punk and metal core. I play a lot of standard tuning, but also go down to drop C and maybe B and A. What guitar would you recommend budget wise with strings for these genres. I like twelve to fifty six strings usually but I had a fender mustang that didn't handle them well so I had to put tens on it, but I eventually notched out the top of the stock, not sure what it's called. If someone could help steer me in the right direction to understand the WHYS of guitar gear tech, strings, etc I would appreciate that. I mainly play rhythm, don't know anything about lead, or music theory or scales. I can read tabs and chords. I like the shape of the fender telecaster and those guitars, but are the pickups good for the genres I play? Thank you.
Finally happy with where these guys are at. L>R: SG Supreme, Les Paul 50’s Standard, Epiphone LPC
