Hey guys! Just wondering if I can plug two 100 watt heads into my Diezel 4x12 with V30’s in it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated 🤘🏻
I'm looking for a new amp, currently have been using a Spider v-thirty line-six for the past year and a half and want an upgrade but nothing too pricey. I like the sound of this amp but i want to know if its a good pedal platform amp, as i want to start buying more pedals. Im also wanting to play a genre of crunchy rock country music for example something like the band "Treaty Oak Revival" and i want to know if this amp would work good with pedals like they use such as Tube Screamers, Overdrive, Compression, Slapback delay. What do you guys think, is there any other amps i should look out for?
Got this amp this past weekend and have never had any tube amps. The tubes look fine and no signs of blown fuses. I have the output on HALF with 4 valves and plugged in the 16ohms for the speaker. Is it normal for this beating sound when the gain is that high even with the noise gate on?
Look I know it's a meme at this point to be like "where's that buzz coming from" but this is a situation that is truly inexplicable. For context I have a Vox AC15 with a multi effects pedal running into it. I recently moved apartments and I've never had an issue with the amp buzzing before the move. But ever since I moved into the new apartment it buzzes like crazy to the point that it's almost unusable. However, it only buzzes under certain conditions. I have been scientifically testing every possibility to see which scenarios create the buzz. I will lay them out here:
Electric guitar > pedal > amp - buzz
Electric guitar > amp - buzz
Different electric guitar > amp - buzz
Acoustic guitar > pedal > amp - no buzz
Cable not plugged into guitar > amp - buzz
Amp with no cable plugged in - no buzz
I truly cannot figure out what is going on here. I've tried with several different cables and get the same results, so I know it's not the cable. The only time it doesn't buzz is when nothing is plugged into the amp, or when my acoustic guitar is plugged in. Please if anyone can shed any light on this confounding situation I would very much appreciate it. I'm at my wit's end
Hey guys, I had a male headphone connector tip break off inside the jack and when I opened up the amp and removed it the little springy pins to connect and hold the jack in broke off from bending. Is my only option here to basically pull off the knobs, remove the pcb, and replace the jack entirely with a new one? Or is there am easier way to make it so that I can at least just use the amp normally without headphones? Thanks in advance.
I have a 67 bassman that is so freaking loud, but I love it so I'm thinking about getting my first attenuator. I know absolutely nothing about these things and there seems to be a crap ton of options out there. I don't wanna spend a million dollars but i also don't want a POS either. It's 50 watts, and sends 4ohms to a cabinet... help me people lol
The manual is not helpful about connecting the speaker cabitnet. As this user point out, it has two outputs on the back "Min 4ohm total"
If I run two 2x12 16ohm speaker cabinets, cabinet 50 watt each (2x25W speakers), assuming that both of these are wired in parallel, is it safe? connecting one 2x12 (4 speaker total 4x25W 16ohm) in one output and the other 2x12 in the second output?
If I have a 4x12 spaker cabinet, each speaker 8ohm 25W, in parallel, is the total power 100W 8ohm?
Here it is the back of the amp https://imgur.com/aChrOKb
Hello everybody I started in the fabulous world of bass 10 days ago and unfortunately I have a problem with my equipment. I bought a Rumble 15 and my bass is a Yamaha TRBX174. I have a kind of buzzing/humming noise coming out of my amp when I turn up the volume, which I didn't have at first. Also, the noise is much less or nonexistent when I turn up the volume on my microphone (3rd from the top). The noise also decreases when I touch the jack cable or the strings. I took my bass and amp back to the store and everything worked when the salesman tested it in front of me, the only thing that wasn't tested was the jack cable. Do you have any idea what could provoke that ? Thanks in advance !
I know they’re outdated but I’m getting one at basically free/very cheap. Is it okay? It’d be my second amp apart from a mini 1W one.
Thanks

Sorry if this is off topic, but can anyone explain to me how Elliott Randall gets the distorted tone on Reelin' In the Years? Especially because he says he simply plugged a Strat straight into an Ampeg SVT. That's a 300W tube amp with one volume knob, so I don't see how he got so much gain unless he had it at pinned at 11, which seems like it would have been unbearable if not borderline dangerous to do in a recording studio (those amps came with warning labels about risk of permanent hearing loss). Or maybe they cranked it and isolated the amp? Can anyone make it make sense?
Tag says it works but have no idea what condition it's in as it still has the two prong cloth power cord. I have some experience changing caps and the like so not too worried about getting it working.
Recently bought a Boss Katana Mini off amazon heard it was a good amp but since its battery powered and small my dad forced me to return it and threw a for that it look like its for a toy or phone and wouldn't last is it a good amp?
My first new amp in 19 years, Orange Crush 35RT. I love it already.
Ignore the Peavey, she doesn’t work.
I am looking to swap the speaker on my Tone King Gremlin combo, which is a 5w tube amp. My understanding was that it’s best to get a speaker rated for at least double the wattage, and the speakers I was looking at can handle 25w.
To my surprise, my amp comes stock with a speaker rated for 70w…. I thought that a speaker rated for 70w was too much wattage for a 5w tube amp (I.e. the amp wouldn’t output enough power to really move the speaker), but now I am wondering if it might be better just get a speaker rated for 75w? I wanted a Jupiter M12A, but was planning to settle on the Jupiter 12LA-P for its lower 25w power capacity.
I have a Vox VT40X modelling amp which I love the sound of but it doesn’t have a line out to plug into my Scarlett 2i2, or a USB interface.
I’ve read somewhere that I can record from the headphone out with the correct cable but I can’t find any info on what cable I need. Does anyone know? I know it isn’t a straightforward 3.5mm to 1/4” cable.
Is there any way to plug a head into a fender LT25, and cancel out the amp on the fender to just play the head amp?
I just had a baby and was looking to get a smaller/quieter amp. I have a ‘65 deluxe reverb and was wondering if I can get a maybe 5-10 watt amp head and connect it to the deluxe reverb for a lower volume while still getting a solid sound? I’ve looked at an orange amp/cabinet combo that has an 8” speaker but it sounds like the lower end is nonexistent based on some reviews I’ve read. Was curious if I could just repurpose my current amp instead of buying a full second setup? Sorry if it’s a pretty basic question, still learning! Thanks!
Hello all, I am looking into getting my first tube amp, something that can get a Slash tone/Jubilee tone for example. Does this amp still hold up? I’d be switching from a Boss Katana 50 that I’ve been using for around 4yrs now. Any insight is appreciated!!
Hi, my amp recently started producing less volume/gain after several minutes of playing. First time it happened, I had to check that the gain wasn't turned way down, and when I cranked it to 10 it still wasn't producing its normal high gain sound. This was on multiple guitars as well with different pickups. The amp is an EVH Iconic head, and there's no other hissing, cracks, pops or buzzing. I've owned the amp for 1.5 years so I'm pretty familiar with the sound and settings.
I heard it could likely be the preamp tubes so I ordered some JJs. I then did the pencil tap test on all tubes, pre and power, but didn't hear anything out of the ordinary.
Should I still plan on swapping the preamp tubes myself? I don't want to get shocked or mess the amp up by digging around further. Thanks
I don't know very much about amps, but I love the sound of the Sunn amps, but I want a bit more versatility. I want a tone that can get thick and sludgy like the Melvins, Soundgarden, etc while still being able to get those tight tones akin to thrash or Adam Jones type percussive playing. The three amps I liked the sound of were:
Bogner Uberschall Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Marshall Silver Jubilee
Which one would be ideal to stack with the Sunn preamp? Thanks guys.
I’ve been looking for a new practice amp and I’ve asked a million questions here so thanks to everyone that helped me out.
Stopped by a local music shop on the way home today and picked up a Positive Grid Spark 40 with the foot pedal. The owner was asking $250 for everything. He ended up giving it to me for $200.
Did I get a steal?
Hey rockers,
I bought a fender Deville (early 2000’s I think) maybe about six months ago. Everything worked on it, but after my show a few weeks ago the reverb AND the channel switch no longer work, I use pedals and play out of the clean channel which still cranks and makes sound, but the channel select and reverb are gone.
I know the reverbs on these and the deluxe are not the best and break, but is there a link that would make the channel switch go out at the same exact time? I do not have the channel pedal, I’m talking push buttons on top.
No drops or knocks other than carrying it to the venue. I’m not exactly gentle with it but I didn’t do anything violent.
Thoughts? Reverb Im fine with not getting back but the channel selector has me concerned.
Sounds tubey but not sure if the noise is a dead giveaway. Would appreciate any and all advice, thanks!
Hi all,
The guitarist at my church has a Fender Blues Deluxe amp that just sounds amazing everywhere but at our church. The power on the stage of our Church was not done well many years ago so the amp picks up a distinct ground hum every Sunday that can be really distracting especially during quieter parts of songs. What is the best and safest way to lift the ground from the amp to remove the hum?
