It has a 3060ti in with a i7 512gb 8gb of ram. I dropped it a couple months back and it’s starting to affect so I’m thinking of doing a subtle but large upgrade I’m not sure if I need a new gpu but what specs should I grab, I’m not trying to spend a lot maybe around 900 over time if that but some help would be greatly appreciated.
I ask for Amazon specifically because I have a lot of points to redeem from my credit card. The issue is that Amazon’s gaming laptops seem to be mostly crap, and the ones with good specs are often open-top mods by a third party, which seems suspect to me.
I had my mind on the rog at first but i see alot of people complain about coil whine and i play games where i need to talk to people and i dont want that to be aggravating for them what should i do also im a truck driver so gaming laptop is the only option
Hi guys! I need help. I got a newly delivered MSI vector laptop. This is the first thing that I notice! I thought it just some off the screen. But i think is a dead pixel? :( any suggestions pls?
A few months back I bought a Lenovo LOQ 15, and while everything has been great, I get weird stuttering while playing games and I'm not really sure why. It's not a frame drop issue, temps are good, and it's happening in every game, from minecraft to binding of isaac to CS2. It happens sort of randomly too and not from moments that are particularly graphics heavy like explosions or large amounts of particles. No idea what's causing it. Not enough ram? Faulty software/ hardware? It's pretty constant; minor but noticeable especially in competitive games.
These are my specs:
LOQ (15" Intel) with RTX 4060
RTX 4060
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13650HX
16GB DDR5 ram
500GB SSD (upgrade with extra 2 TB SSD)
Please let me know if there are any fixes or if anyone else is experiencing a similar thing.
I’m not planning on buying, but I thought someone else would probably be interested.
It’s £900 for an Alienware m15 r6
i am going to buy a gigabyte laptop and i don't have previous experience with gigabyte in Laptops , could anyone help me please about the performance of this brand ?
i am an architect and will be using it mainly for Autocad and rendering with lumion . and this is the computer specs:
Thanks for any tipps
Legion slim 5 with r7 8845hs and 4070 16gb ram 1600p display Or Legion 7i with i9 14900hx with 4060 16gb ram 3.2k display 7i is $100 more than the slim Reply fast I need to buy ASAP.
Hello need help making a decision, It’s definitely going to sound crazy but I’d like to hear from others so I can settle my thought process once and for all.
I got an ASUS laptop from Best Buy for 1.7k, it was a demo model. The specs are as follows: Gpu- rtx 4080 CPU- i9 14900hx Ssd storage: 2tb Display: QHD 240hz
I’ve been entertaining the idea of getting an Alienware m18, however it’ll cost more and the storage is 1tb instead of 2 (no big deal I’ll install a new ssd anyways).
The Alienware display would be 300 nits instead of 500, but I don’t think it’ll be that big of an issue since I do my gaming in darker environments, although I do plan to use it as a daily driver for learning hack the box and note taking.
The reasons I want an Alienware is:
all aluminum build quality, it feels a little weird to have an expensive laptop that’s made out of plastic, I value the feel of laptops a lot. Having a tankier feel would add more to the premium experience imho.
sleeker more professional design. The rog strix screams “gamer laptop” with the logo and the lettering stretching across the top of the lid and keyboard as well. Also the hinge is like a normal laptop instead of the ugly and fragile looking ones the rog strix uses.
slightly bigger screen, even though both are technically 18 inches, I think I’ve seen a review page state that the Alienware screen is 10-20 mm longer diagonally and 10 mm wider, which isn’t much but still nice regardless.
ego: this is the most irrational part of my argument but it’s still true for me. I LIKE the idea of owning an Alienware brand, something about it just feels cooler- it feels like the iPhone equivalent of the gaming laptop space. I also have an Alienware backpack and a small part of my brain doesn’t like pulling out a rig strix from it.
My expectations are that when I get a laptop, I want it to last a decade at the very least. I’m aware I will have to do maintenance and it suits me just fine since I love computers anyways. I also value upgradability too.
Of course the biggest issue is the pricing. I’d be spending a whole 1k more for a brand new laptop in order to have the features I want. But since I plan to pay Best Buy 300$ for the 1 year protection for the g18 if I keep it, while Alienware will come with a 1 year warranty- I guess the cost difference would be closer to 700$.
Thanks for listening to my post, it’s not the most logical but it is what it is.
I'm looking for a decent 15"-16" laptop that can handle most games decently well (all low settings is fine, as long as it reaches stable 60FPS), but also doesn't run like like 2hrs tops on battery. I don't have much in terms on preference, other than I'd prefer a Ryzen CPU. I'll probably be running Linux on it instead of Windows, if it makes any difference.
As for what I'll be playing on it, I mostly aim for emulating stuff, especially 3DS and Switch. When it comes to native PC games, I'm thinking Monster Hunter World/Rise (it'd be great if Wilds worked too, but it's unrealistic) and Genshin Impact.
So far I've been eying ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Adv. Edition with R7-7435HS and RX7600S, as well as MSI Bravo 15 with Ryzen 7-7735HS and RTX4060. Tho I imagine MSI's not gonna be that good on battery, considering the 4060...
I’m looking to get my first gaming laptop…
But I need it for school/work as well.
But also wanna game on it so 2 birds one stone.
What you guys think are the best options on the market?
Must haves: Rtx 4070+ amd ryzen 7/9 or intel core ultra 7/9 32gb ram or 16 upgradable Good battery life whilst not gaming 6/7 hours min
Decent to great build quality don’t want something with a shitty track pad etc
15.6 inches to 17 inches smaller is too small and bigger is too big
Budget is max £1500
What are the options out there right now or will come out 2025
Hi everyone!
I need to pickup a laptop, max budget around $3000, in the coming days.
Will use it:
My criteria:
Please don't tell me to go desktop, I simply cannot for the demos.
I selected the Zephyrus G16 2024 with 4070, and the Blade 16 4080, based on these criteria and the very positive feedback on their respective silent mode (users, ultrabookreview, and the excellent Josh Craves Tech reviews). Right now I can purchase here a G16 AMD 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD / 4070 for $2500 and a Blade 16 2024 32GB RAM / 1 TB SSD / 4080 for $3200. G16 4080 is sadly way too expensive here. G14 with 4070 is at the same price than G16, and somewhat less powerful although apparently quieter.
Performance is on the Blade side, however I have seen so many reports on bad CQ and Customer Support, plus on repasting need to get real silent modes, plus the CPU cap when the GPU is running, that I am really hesitant.
Would love to get feedback of users of these laptops (including Josh, who tested both).
I've had my Asus TUF FX504 since 2020 and its specs are getting outdated with newer, heavier games. MHWilds is coming out real soon and for sure my laptop won't be able to run it at all. The game will be the base of the specs I'm looking for.
I don't have that much money for a high-end laptop, so a mid range one is good for me. I'm also an art student so I use my laptop for a lot of graphic work too.
So far I've been looking at the Acer Nitro V15, but the screen quality is the only thing i might not like when I use it for work, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 is also something I'm looking at but I'm not entirely sure if it's a little over budget or not here, and the MSI Cyborg 15 almost seemed promising to me until I heard it has a bad habit of breaking.
I don't have knowledge for pcs or laptops, so I would like to know which is the best to keep for long term use too.
My budget is around 50-70k in PHP, 800-1k in dollars
TLDR: Choose between the two laptops i listed below. i just explain in detail how i came to this final choice for context reasons, you can skim past the next few lines of course to save time.
So, i need a laptop for CAD, light CFD loads, and video editing. I do game occasionally, but not a huge factor in the purchase decision. I initially asked in the cfd sub for help and also on the side worked on some basic builds that i had in mind, but i came to a realisation that a PC is not the right choice for me at this moment, i will be moving out of the country too soon and will not be able to take the PC with me, and Mobility is very important for me and remote control is not an option due to connectivity issues in the places i frequent. There are other reasons, but allow me to skip past to keep the post short.
I initially did some looking around online and then went to Dell, HP, Lenovo and Asus stores. I took a list of all the products they had and started narrowing down. CPU and RAM are crucial, so i narrowed down using just two conditions, R9 or i9 processors and min 32gigs with at least ddr5-5200 Mhz. Dell had no options (4800MHz was max ram speed). HP Omen looked good but i found better options for same price or same specs for better price in Asus and Lenovo. This is in India, so the models and specs may vary from those in the US.
So essentially, i need to choose between:
Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations on a laptop for World of Warcraft in the $2000-$3000 range. I already have a solid desktop setup, but I need something portable for when I’m traveling. I play a lot of mythic +, rbgs, and mythic raids, which can have scenarios that can cause FPS drops, so I’m hoping to find a laptop that can handle this smoothly and keep me running in 100+ fps ranges. Not concerned with battery life or portability. Any advice would be appreciated!
I plan to buy my first cooling pad: IETS gt500V1 or KLIM turbofrost. The problem is that they are quite pricy (about 89€ and 109€ respectively). Do expensive cooling pads like these ones get discounted on black Friday or Christmas?
Asus rog G17 16gb 4070, amd ryzen 9 7945hx 1tb storage with a 240hz 1920x 1080 screen
Vs
Msi vector 17hx 16gb 4080, i9 13980hx, 1tb storage with a 165hz 1920x 1080 screen
Msi has one more USB port and is £50 more
But I hear plenty of people lagging msi for
Rubbish screens, noisy fans, build quality. I've seen a tear down vid and getting the casing off is awkward, whereas the Asus seems sturdier build, better screen, easier to get the bottom off.
I really wanted a 4080, but I can't afford the Asus version as it is £450 more for that alone.
I can't use headphones much, so noisy fans is a factor here. Is it noisier than an alienware on full crank? I rarely run mine that hot, but it would be useful to gauge how loud it gets.
Also, is people saying the msi screens are rubbish more by rep, or because they are.
Anyone had an msi regret it now you've got it because of the screen?
It seems the Asus might be better cooled (partly due to the ryzen) but also has better fan control.
People's thoughts?
So I bought an Asus laptop four years ago. I had noticed the performance had been degrading a lot lately, so I took it in for a checkup. Basically, I was told due to dust and my computer and it overheating for an extended period of time, that it was unfixable.
Long story short, they replaced my computer for me so now I have a new gaming laptop, but I want to avoid this happening in the future and hopefully get the most out of my new machine.
I've invested in an air filter to put next to my computer, and plan to take it in regularly for a dust cleaning. But what other steps can I take to make my new computer last as long as possible?
Both machines have i5 13gen and 4050.Acer has ddr5 and and hp has better display (this statement is from YouTube videos). I'm mainly looking for longevity, battery, and build quality with the best after purchase services. And also which has mux switch/Nvidia optimum. I've only used dell office laptops until now (like for past 8-10 years)and don't know much about these two companies. It will be a great help if you could also share your experience with these two laptops.
My usage: videos editing, GTA5, Roblox..
Why did Lenovo swap their zen4 cpu to zen3? A lot of LOQ laptops got the ryzen 7435hs, but last year they had 7840hs. Is it a sneaky adjustment to get more money or is there a lack of zen4 cpu from amd?
My usage: videos editing, GTA5, Roblox..
