I thought Shift + Alt + click in the arrangement window would place the cursor at that point, which is something I am desperately trying to accomplish. The problem is when I press Alt I start drawing events instead. I saw Dom Sigalas do it in one of his videos. What am I missing here?
Someone of you knows if It works?
Hi people. I just came from ableton and when i used to reference tracks they would automatically align to my tempo/project. Can anyone explain how to do this in cubase please? Each track i try to reference is way out. Thanks in advance
Why does the 1776 and the LA-2A plugins input knob doesn't null the input. Whenever I put a signal through those compressors they already start compressing a lot and if I bring the input knob down on the 1776 it still has a lot of volume through it and it still compresses. I've been using the Purple audio MC77 and the input knob there kills (nulls) the input if brought down which is much more intuitive. And there's a link switch to link the input and the output which makes it much easier and faster to get the desired sound. Am I missing something ? I thought these plugins would be the best but I am slightly disappointed so far.
Back when I was ignorant of this, I sent my midi signals from my sequencer into Cubase while not changing the tempo of Cubase to the tempo of the songs in my sequencer. So a song written at 155 bpm went into a cubase project set at 120 bpm.
Is there any way to export all the midi tracks from the 120 bpm project at a new tempo?
Or, conversely, is there a way to convert the old midi files from 120 bpm to 155 bpm once the midi tracks are imported into Reaper or a new Cubase project?
I use plugins like fuser that duck stuff away, but my laptop can’t handle it good. Could I use it, then see what frequency it ducks and just duck the same frequencies with frequency 2 to make it work on my pc?
So just use fuser to see what it would do and then do it manually?
Someone needs to explain me why this software is so buggy.
I’ve been using it for more than 15 years and I’ve seen glitches and bugs of all kinds. I think I’m about to change DAW because I can’t tolerate this kind of stuff.
I swear I literally can’t work on a project because it either crashes every 5 minutes or it stops playing back audio completely. I press play and nothing comes out. I have in my session some Serum and Kontakt players, some plugins, but the point is: these are all softwares I used on other projects and they didn’t cause any issues, or at least way less than this one. Sometimes Cubase just decides it doesn’t work.
Macbook M1 Max 64 GB 4 TB SSD, Ventura 13.6.5, Cubase version 12.0.70 running on Rosetta. I even invested money on a new computer just to make everything run smoothly.
I can’t figure out what the issue is. I reported it in the steinberg forums, I've been told to update, which I did, and keeps crashing randomly (by the way I had to use the website, cause steinberg download assistant gave me this error every time: "A connection to the download server could not be established. Check your internet connection and try again.")
I've been working with Pro Tools for years now, and despite all its bugs, I feel like it's way more stable than this. At this point I might change but I want to at least save this project I'm working on.
Can anybody help? I've attached the bug report.
Don't know how to attach the .ips file, so here's a link: https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/0e340df6-9198-4f5c-aa04-21eb05866f64
EDIT: it's actually interesting that so many people say it's stable, although I found some that share the same problems. to sum it up, I had to use rosetta because some of the softwares I use were not still native and were not going to be updated unless I bought the new versions. which I did, and it still crashes. it's probably due to Kontakt, however, as I wrote on some replies, cubase still has crashes and weird bug and glitches of any kinds. I'm going to send an email to customer service. thank you all for the help.
For the first query is there a way to make a macro for this because the colour options work normally with audio and midi clips but not with the channel strip.
For the second query is there a particular setting for mediabay which has given y'all the most stable experience on a mac.
been done before but anyways:
cubase.ahk:
#Requires AutoHotkey v2.0
A_MaxHotkeysPerInterval := 200
If WinActive("ahk_exe cubase.exe") {
<+WheelUp::+g
<+WheelDown::+h
WheelUp::WheelUp
WheelDown::WheelDown
}
+ is shift
^ is control
! is alt
< means left and > is right
place a shortcut to it or put it in:
⊞+r and %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Hello,
I'm experiencing a consistent issue, where my VST will suddenly start "going crazy" and making insane noise, it is as if it has suddenly been told to play every note on repeat and it will continue until I restart cubase (Cubase 12 Artist to be specific). It is totally unclear what is triggering it as it happens at completely random times and with different VSTs. It can happen whether I am actively recording or just playing some notes. It can happen even if there is only one VST loaded in an otherwise empty project, though it does seem like it may get worse when there are a bunch of software instruments loaded at once.
I have a somewhat complicated setup which it seems probably may be the cause but I'm not sure how to go about troubleshooting or fixing it. I have an MPC which I use a "brain"/sequencer for both hardware synths and VSTs. MPC MIDI Outputs are going to 1) a MIDI-thru box which send MIDI to my hardware synths, and 2) my recording interface/daw. MPC MIDI inputs are coming from 1) my controller keyboard, a Roland FA workstation and 2) the recording interface/daw.
When I am starting a new project I am typically just using the MPC to sequence and using the DAW to monitor everything. At this stage I will typically have MIDI Sync off on the MPC so it shouldn't be receiving MIDI clock information. This is most often when the problem arises. When it is time to record everything into the DAW, I turn MIDI Sync on in the MPC, so that everything is synced to the MIDI clock from my DAW/interface.
I do also get weird held MIDI notes, which I'm able to stop by pressing play, then stop in cubase. These often get recorded and then I need to go through a delete manually. Not sure if this is related.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. This issue is quite annoying and distracting and happens constantly. Thanks in advance!
Interface is UR44. When I monitor vocal tracks through Cubase, they sound oddly compressed. When I tick "direct monitor" and only hear the output from the interface, they sound perfect and crystal clear.
FRESH PROJECT, no plugins, effects, sends at work of any kind. There is no reason "direct monitor" should sound different in any way, right?
Thoughts? Am I missing something?
Since upgrading to 13 pro a week ago I've been having a problem. Sometimes tracks just stop playing sound. I've checked all the obvious possibilities that could cause it but no success.
Also, sometimes different sections on the same track are very different loudness even though they're copied and all exactly the same. There's no automation so that's not the reason.
The tracks in question are vst instrument tracks.
Any ideas about to this?
I've been using Elements for about four months now as my first DAW and I'm starting to get a bit more comfortable with it. My main plugins I use are Kontakt 7, and Addictive Keys which came free with my Ableton midi keyboard.
I've mostly been messing around with midi composition and haven't started recording vocals or instruments yet, but I'll probably start with that soon once I iron out some logistics with my recording space.
For someone who is still pretty new to the DAW, is the Pro version actually worth it? Or is it more for advanced power-users?
I can't find it neither in startup programs and task manager. I didn't find anything on internet and i don't know if it's in the preference channel. Could someone help me? i also have this problem with other programs.
thank you !
Is there any way to create the record scratch sound effect in this cue in Cubase? It starts at 0:18.
I have cubase LE and I was thinking of upgrading to Cubase Elements, is it worth it?
Hey fellow cubase users,
I’m currently scoring a fan film and having some troubles with video playback in cubase 12 pro.
Any format video I import loads fine, however when I open the video player so I can have it on my screen, it’s zoomed in and doesn’t playback smoothly, it runs for about 4 seconds then freezes (not cubase, just the video).
I’ve looked everyone online for a solution but found none.
Any tips or solutions? Thanks!
I just bought Cubase 13 LE anfd when i click on the editor dropdown i don't get any results.
From my Cubase Elements 9.5 i know that there should be options like "Drum Editor" and so on.
Can anyone help me with that? Thanks in advance!
Upgraded recently to Cubase 13 Pro. There's so much stuff in the download manager and I'm not sure what I should be downloading.
I've downloaded all the recommended things. Is everything else not part of the cubase price and sold separately?
As the title suggests. Also, does anyone know of any valid promo codes?
Gotta be thrifty nowadays.
I have a keyboard with Yamaha ASIO through usb and a microphone from the PC.
I added 2 audio tracks, but the second I could only connect “stereo in”;
I have a headphone connected to the keyboard, which receive the sound from the ASIO usb (in the other direction).
My motherboard is Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI)
how can I have the microphone in ?
how can I / should I export the result to go into zoom, which supports only 1 interface (eg., either microphone, either ASIO) ?
should I use control room ? then how to redirect control room to zoom ?
Many thanks in advance !
I'm looking for a solution for live performance and VST Live seems to fit thr bill, however I'm worried about how little there is on the Internet in terms of tutorials and discussion. Is no one using it? If so, why not?
I want to: Run 8 stereo stems Run 3 midi tracks assigned to virtual instruments with midi controller connected for filter/fx manipulation Program dmx Have video playback
Other options appear to be Gig Performer or Ableton but both with DMX handled externally. I'm fine with this if I could find info on how to do it simply.
I downloaded the Gig Perfomer trial and it is incredibly unintuitive for audio and midi play back, with no timeline.
Ableton is great for the audio and midi, but the dmx and video integration seems overly complex.
VST Live has it all, but I'm concerned about how solid it is as a reliable, professional solution when there's so little uptake.
I recently just got cubase and my audio hasn’t been really working with me. I did all the Studio Setup stuff and Audio Connections and stuff. Cubase is recognizing my audio interface with my headphones coming from it but it refuses to play anything back… OTHER than my audio tracks. I can replay my audio tracks and I hear them, but when I make any other instrument or midi track, there is no sound. Can I have any insight on this… thank you.
Hey Everyone,
I've been using Studio One for the past year, but I wanted to try something new, so I decided to go with Cubase 13 Pro. I love the aesthetics so far, and the workflow seems pretty chill, HOWEVER there's an issue I can't seem to figure out. Whenever I arm a track, I can't hear any sound in my headphones even though I can see the bar moving up and down, indicating that there is sound going through. I'm used to hearing myself in the headphones whenever I hit arm, so this is a huge problem. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
Please let them know 🙏🙏🙏
Hey guys,
somehow the icons on my tracks turned black... In cubase Artist, they where white but I cant seem to find the setting to change the color back...
i've checked google and reddit and can't find what to do! everything seems to check out, my audio seems to be connected, but i just can't hear anything at all. am i doing something wrong?
is this correct? i tried messing around to fix it but it's still just no sound
i'm not sure what to do now. i can give more info if needed, please help!
If you are new to Cubase and want a guide that will cover *all* the basics in one series check out this page from Steinberg.
Many different areas are covered.
I have a folder called Izotope in my common files VST3 folder which contains a bunch of DLL files which I presume are there for being integrated as plug-ins for DAWs in VST format. For some reason when I scan the folder in the VST plug-in manager, none of these DLL files seem to show up or integrate into my Cubase 12 PRO DAW (despite the fact they are 64bit files). Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong here?
I've added a plug-in path in the actual stand-alone RX8 editor but dunno if this is supposed to help. I will add a screen shot below. (Also one of them is showing that it has "failed to load") Not sure what is happening there.
Any help, links, articles, or what not would be greatly appreciated!
