This is the first time I will be going to this convention in particular, I am a big time tcg player and will be going with some friends when the next expo happens. If i bring some cards, should I expect an area of tabletop open play? the website is kinda iffy on what “gaming options” there are for people, and was wondering if anyone could give me words of advice/ experience. Thank you in advance!
I will be attending all 3 days of FESF this month, and have never gone to one before. to be honest, I've never gone to a full con like this at all. (I attended both years of BiteCon, the Los Angeles based con for MTV's Teen Wolf.) I'm wondering what to expect?
I bought the VIP ticket package, and have a photo op and autograph with Joseph Quinn, and also booked an autograph for Hayden Christensen; I'm still debating if I want to book with anyone else, but I'm mostly wondering what the vibes are typically like re: panels, artist alley, and after hours events.
if it makes any difference, I am a woman in her 30s attending alone.
I'm also wondering how many people attend and don't cosplay or wear fandom stuff?
any feedback welcome!
I'm trying to figure out if my fan panel idea would fit in at Fanexpo either Vancouver or Portland. I've never been to a FanExpo but i have been to LACC, Wondercon, ECCC, Pax West, and also Sakuracon, Katsucon, Otakon, AX, and Kumoricon, and I'm wondering if FanExpo is going to have the more corporate/industry focus of the former versus the more fan-focused and fan-forward feel of the latter. (I find the difference is not just in the subject matter between those groups.)
is there anywhere that I can read past panel descriptions for any Fanexpo to see if I'd fit in?
Im from Canada. Used to go to FanEx Toronto every year. I know the SF one is smaller (based on the price, much smaller) but is it still fun? Mainly I love artist alley and branded booth activations. Are those good? I’m less interested in panels and photo ops since I’ve gone so many times
For anyone who has attended Fan Expo San Francisco before, were you able to ask questions during a panel? I know Mark Hamill had a panel last year at the convention—was the audience allowed to ask him questions?
Hello! I plan on going to Philadelphia Fan Expo this year as Roronoa Zoro, and wanted to know if anyone had personal experience/knowledge with what kind of props are typically allowed in. I planned on buying plastic prop swords and keeping them sheathed except for pictures, does anyone know if security might have an issue with plastic prop swords.
Hi all! So Bryce is coming to Steel City con in Pittsburgh and I was wondering, does she do table selfies at expos or just photo ops? I just wanted to find out, so I know whether to get a photo op ticket or not. Thanks!
I’m going alone, most likely all 3 days. Taking days off work, just to do something other than work and be home. Anyone wanna meet up and form a group to mob around in?
I’m wondering if selfies are allowed. I know in most cases, selfies would be an extra charge but I don’t see anything listed on the website. Am I allowed to take a quick selfie? How much?
ETA- since it would be our first time, any other helpful info is appreciated. We’d probably plan to go on Thursday. My kids will be 11 and 15, so easier to do panels and things than with smaller children.
Thinking of fan expo tickets for my kids for a Christmas gift. Does anyone know when they announce who the celebrity guests will be? We’d be going to Denver. I’m assuming my kids will enjoy it either way because they’re big into video games/comic book lore. We’ve never been before so any info helps!
what time of year do the applications for dallas’s artist usually go live? and how fast do they tend to sell out? i know it’s waitlist only for 2025, but i’d like to be ready for the next :)
I'm attending FESF for the first time this year and I purchased an autograph as well as a photo op from Hayden Christensen. Maybe a dumb question, but am I allowed to have my partner in the photo op picture with me? We are cosplaying Anakin and Padme and not sure if she needs to buy a photo op ticket too. I imagine yes cause Im buying one photo of us so just one picture will be taken. I cant find anything on the website clarifying this, maybe I missed it though. I want to be extra sure is all it's my first time meeting a guest at a convention. If anyone knows, I appreciate the help!
Update (so quick): I found more info here you can bring three people!
It's my first time doing VIP at a convention this year and also my first time deciding to get autographs. Pre-purchased the autographs and have the QR codes. In the FAQs, it mentions QR codes need to be redeemed into tickets, and then elsewhere in the FAQs, it says VIP should go to the VIP concierge to get escorted to the talent.
I imagine it'll be obvious once I'm there, but figured worth asking here if anyone knew which needed to be done first (redeeming QR code vs waiting in VIP concierge line)? Any tips for someone with VIP for the first time is also handy and appreciated. I know part of me is curious how long autograph lines will be even for VIP, but excited nonetheless
I am a vendor who wants to sell video games at Fan Expo Cleveland 2025 in March. I sent in an application about ten days ago. I’m not expecting it to be ready yet, but I just wanted to see if anyone can tell me how long it would take. Thank you!
Got 2 single day passes tickets for the Dallas Fan Festival 2024 for Sunday 10/20. Unfortunately can't get a refund and me and my buddy are no longer able to go so I'm willing sell them for cheap just to make a bit of money back. PM
My dad recently asked who the lady on the front of my fan expo bag is, and I’ve been trying to find out but to no luck. Anyone help me out and know who it is?
As the title says. My first time ever at FanExpo Philly was last year, and I only discovered it months after 90% of the guests were announced. Want to go again this year, but going to base it on the celebrities they have but there have been no annoucements yet. I know its not til May, and they have plenty of time but I'm curious if any long-time attendees know when they ususally start announcing who is coming?
Hello. I’m only going on Saturday and the doors open at 10AM. I’m wondering how early one should one get there to pretty much have a “front row” spot? How early have you gotten there? Thanks in advance :)
goin down to dallas next year and was wondering if that venue also forbids props made of wood from being allowed in because they don't let you over In the Toronto one
I’m going to SF on Saturday and Sunday. I have tickets for a photo op and auto for Hayden Christensen on Saturday so far. I really want to get an auto from Charlie cox as well but he will only be there on Saturday. Do you think there is enough time one the day to get both autos and the Hayden photo op? Or should I just forget about the cox idea and just do Hayden?
I see that he’s been at past Fan Expos, does anyone know if he did table selfies??
Hello. I’ve been asking too many questions lol but I purchased 4 autographs and was sent the QR codes. Is there a special line or do I have to wait with everyone else?
Has anyone been to Denver FanExpo and FanX Salt Lake and how do they compare experience wise. Wondering if driving to Denver for it is worth it?
I decided to go on Saturday but I have a question. The tickets I know will get mailed since I paid for them to be shipped but I also got the bundle bag (lanyard, pin, bag, etc…). Will this also arrive in the mail or would I have to pick it up at the event?
Tomorrow the tickets will be going on sale for Chicago. It’s going to be my first time doing this. What are the benefits of vip? I want to do photo ops and receive autographs. Will you still be able to do that with the regular pass
I’m considering going this year but want to hear about your experiences from last year’s event! How was it?
I applied to san francisco artist alley a fee months ago but they never emailed me back if I had been accepted. I emailed them to get a refund for the application and they told me I wouldn’t be able to receive a refund because my app was accepted? I’ve heard bad things about the show from the vendors point of view and I’m not sure if it’s worth it to go to save the $369 I spent on the app. Or if I should just cancel my app and lose the $369 to hopefully not lose $1000 in hotel, flight, food, etc.
Would anybody like to share their experience from last year’s fan expo san fran?
Hi everyone,
I was at the Fan Expo Canada (Toronto) as a crew member from 2022 to 2023, I wanted to find the website for applying for staff positions in the ticket counter, or staff assistants with the volunteers but I couldn't see that. I enjoy attending Fan Expo Canada/Toronto Comic-Con but want to get some money from working there. Thanks for your help!
