This is a subreddit specifically for people who cosplay and people looking to cosplay. Want to share the outfit you just made? Share it here! Want some advice on a costume? Ask here! Want to show some cool pics you took at the last convention you went to? Post them here! Want to spam professional cosplay photos you stole and put on your for-profit website? DON'T POST THEM HERE! I made this community because while the cosplay subreddit has some great questions and self posts, it's 90% spam of peoples' websites, which is a bit out of hand. So while the other subreddit is still great, I hope many of you will join me here!

So I've been cosplaying as a mobile suit and am usually quite sweaty when I'm in the suit as it's made of multiple layers of foam. I've been told that I don't smell bad when the helmet and everything else is on, but they could just be polite, and obviously the less smell the better!
Apart from the obvious (maybe not so obvious), I shower before and after, use deodorant, have someone to help me wipe off sweat intermittently, etc. I also:
What are other ways to help reduce the odor from sweat? Has anyone tried putting in a Febreze air freshener inside their cosplay suit to help neutralize odors? Thanks :)
hey!! I’ve been looking for brightly coloured/wildly patterned sweatpants all over the internet, thrift stores, etc, but cannot find what I’m looking for in plus sizes, so I’ve been thinking that buying white sweatpants and designing them myself will be the best option. I want to be able to machine wash these (in a garment bag) and not have the gems fall off, and also spend long periods of time moving/dancing so am looking for paint that will not dry stiff and will be flexible, I know I’ve heard of people mixing paint with fabric softener? but not sure what kind of paint or where to start at all. thank you all in advance for your help and advice!
So, this is the first build i am actually making from scratch. There is quite a bit of stuff that i need advice on, but for now just the small things. For those who may not know this character, this is Garrett Hawke from Dragon Age 2 and there are different variations of him. The variation i am doing is the Mage variation.
I have the armor pieces in the works and i am unsure on how to attach them to the harnesses they need to be on or what to even use. I know fake leather is an option to make the belts and everything on them, but i am curious if there is anything else i could use for a possible better result. Any recommendations is appreciated
Still working on it. What do y'all think?
