I'm planning doing a knight costume for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival next year, with the armor heavily inspired by the blackened armor in Blade and Sorcery Nomad, which cloesly resembles renaissance-era plate mail. Anyone have advice? Painting, sculpting, sizing, etc. are very helpful. Thanks in advance.
Title pretty much suns up everything. I want to get something from them, as their cosplay things seem really good and the jackets dont look too bad. But i havent seen that many reviews on their items, and all of them are 4 or 5 stars anyways, so im not sure what to think about them. Searching them up also gives me nothing except their site, so i cant find any information on them. Is their stuff actually good? Are they trustable??
Hey folks, I’m about to start working with foam for the first time and I’d appreciate some words of wisdom regarding rub’n’buff. All the research I’ve done suggests it’s the best option for metallic finishes on foam armor, but I wanted to clarify two things.
Firstly, as I understand it, once the piece is ready I should 1) heat seal it, 2) prime it, 3) paint it black, and 4) apply the rub’n’buff. Am I on the wrong track with any of that?
Secondly, are there any specific brands of paint/primer I should look for or avoid? I have my eye on an all-in-one that seems quite reputable, but you never know.
Thanks for any advice!

We have a lot more to do but thought it was cool so far. Two made by her and two by me.
I have this heavy resin 3d printed crown and its a bit forward heavy, so im wondering of ways to secure the whole headband and the piece. I thought about combs but im not sure about where they would be attached and how to easily attach them
So I'm doing some research on materials and whatnot for my Cyn (Murder Drones) cosplay. The image above is a generalized idea of what I want to try and make. I'm not very experienced in making cosplay, so this is a little bit of a big step for me.
I've heard from fellow cosplayers at Comic Con that they use privacy window film for their TV head cosplay, allowing their face to stay hidden whilst still being able to see.
I was thinking that I could add some plastic or some kind of clear material behind the eye holes once carved out, and then I'll apply privacy film and the eye details (if possible). It would be similar to how people make those anime dolls where the eyes are applied behind the doll face to give it a dynamic feel.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for privacy film I can use? Any alternatives or recommendations that may prove useful?
I just need some help for what I'd need for a heath ledger joker costume I already have long hair so now wig btw
My daughter drew a Kenku inspired demon thing last summer and asked if we could make a costume. Never worked with Eva before and thought we would give it a shot. After lots of laser cut feathers and foam clay we ended up with this. Watched a ton of YouTube videos. But one issue we have was the skull we crafted out of foam clay and platidipped. It doesn’t seem to be sticking to the foam clay very well any suggestions for painting foam clay?
I want to improve my cosplay ability and actually craft more than just the weapon prop myself, but armor crafting is dang hard -
Originally, I wanted to do Grimnir from Granblue Fantasy, I already sketched out some ways of how to do and attach things with the help of some videos, however, I can't wrap my head around gloves/gauntlets at all. I tried to follow This Gepard Glove tutorial from Zenshin Cosplay but it just wouldn't fit, either on my finger or together as pieces, in addition to the fingers on Grimnir's gloves being much more pointy. I did already buy an post-elbow long glove to attach it to or put it over.
So I appreciate any and all kind of help you can give me for how to do it, because I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
