first time going to ECCC, is it likely that guest like neil newbon will sell selfies at the autograph table? I'm deciding between autograph or photo-op
Is this a thing? We’re probably only going to be able to attend one day, are single-day kids tickets a thing? Can’t find them on the website :/
I dont see anything on the website about celebrities holding props at photo ops, just that they go by quickly. Does it depend on the celebrity?
This year I will be Attending all 4 days, Coming as 4 different characters, Caine again with a bit of repaired improvements, J from Murder Drones, Titan TV man from Skibidi Toilet (Yes yes I know probably a little cringe to some but wanted a variety of characters, And the 4th is yet to be determined but Probably Alastor from Hazbin Hotel assuming I have the time to get that set up too. I look forward to seeing those of you who all that are planning to go there :3 also don't expect to not get Tormented (NOT ACTUALLY TORMENTED JUST A JOKE) if you're a character that can or usually gets bullied or tormented by mine :3 aka N, Pomni, Husker etc.
This will be first time attending ECCC and I'm looking for ALL the pro-tips, need-to-knows, etc.
I'm originally from Southeastern US so Dragon Con is kinda my main frame of reference for the ultimate con experience. I've been cosplaying for over a decade so I refer to it as my "Super Bowl." I'm curious what the vibe at ECCC is like? Comparable in terms of cosplay, night life scene, mixing & mingling in lobbies/con areas, or nah? More "corporate" feel (i.e. SDCC or NYCC) than "by the fans, for the fans?"
I've also thrown my hat in to host a Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon/George RR Martin's World of Ice & Fire meetup this year. Is there a standing group that does this? I don't want to step on any toes!
Thanks for the help!
Hello! I'm looking to hire a photographer for my cosplay on Friday. Happy to discuss prices and will need to see samples of your work.
Thank you!
Want to know who's going to be at ECCC 2025's Artist Alley and Writers Block? We have the complete list for you right here at Popverse: https://www.thepopverse.com/live-emerald-city-comic-con-eccc-2025-artist-alley-writers-block-lists/
Does anyone know if larping will be held at ECCC this year?
App still shows last years information. Things like the scheduler, and the maps were very useful last year, is it going to be a thing again this year?
They'll be doing photo ops, autographs, and a panel - time TBA. Full announcement here
How has applying been for you? Let me know!
O'Brian also appeared in Black Lightning, Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Full announcement here
I've been keeping my eye on the listed meetups, but I don't see a Marvel meetup posted yet. I know there was one last year, but I can't remember who hosted. I've only gone to ECCC alone in the past and don't personally know anyone in the community, so I'm not really sure who to ask/who would be hosting. I just want to know which day I should plan on wearing my cosplay. If you know anything about a potential Marvel meetup for 2025, please let me know!
Hello everyone. As we get closer to convention, I just wanted to share with everyone here an invite to my ECCC discord server. We chat and share our thoughts and experiences from convention. I also post any new major announcements from guests to panels. Come by and join.
Edit: here is the final, permanent link for the server. https://discord.gg/MtenSZkfAn
I really want to see Nathan Fillion. When will we know times that he’s there? Thank you!
Campbell and Levy will both be there March 8th & 9th, with a panel on the latter day. Full announcement here
Looking to see which vendors are going to ECCC this year.
Looked all over the ECCC site and can't find a list of vendors anywhere?
It's less than two months till the show, does anyone else find this concerning?
Mods prease delete if against the rules.
Just curious if anyone could share a coupon code for tickets? I want to take my kids just so they can experience it but it gets a bit spendy. thanks!
Sale begins at 3 PM EST on January 9. Full announcement here
Kind of a long shot, but I thought someone in this group may know.
Before the pandemic, there was a small con in Lynnwood. Went by Nerdfaire and it was a small, fun time.
Last year, their facebook page sprang back to life, and I got a couple of email communications or messages, then silence again. This past October, they were planning on hosting a get together, but it apparently fell through.
Just wondering if any of you Seattle area con goers know what happened or if they'll ever be back.
Thanks!
Basically the title.
Thought it might be cool to see fellow redditors in person at ECCC, or maybe not.
We could make a bunch of friends…or frenemies?!? Hahah.
I've never been to ECCC (or any Comic Con for that matter). I want to go and see what it's about. In trying to buy a ticket is asks me:
"Which of the following is your top reason for attending Emerald City Comic Con?" and "What are you most looking forward to seeing on the Show Floor (check all that apply)?" and "What is your favorite panel topic? (check all that apply)" and I'm not sure as I've never been to one.....how do these answers effect what I can do there? If I get them wrong will I be locked into these choices one I get there? For example I know nothing about Anime: do I need to select that for both questions if I want to be able to attend panels/visit anime booths and learn about Anime? I was just going to leave these blank but it is required and I have no idea how it impacts what I can do there as I have never been. I am worried that I'm going to screw up my visit by answering these wrong. Should I just check all the boxes?
So I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping y'all can help me. I went to ECCC last year with my partner, and we spent most of our time in Artist's Alley. There was one vendor there who was selling necklaces/pendants, I think based on D&D classes. She got one that was a simple straight dagger, plain silver.
I'm asking because she recently lost it and I want to see if I can get her another before this coming ECCC. I found the Artist's Alley list from last year, but there's nearly 400 people on there. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'll be eternally grateful.
Convention happens March 6-9, with all three attending Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th. Full announcement here
All that's available is photo ops, I was camping the site right as they went on sale so they aren't sold out, are they sold at the convention?
