I wouldn't do it, but I think I like it.
I have a strange interest in learning how to fry scream. I highly doubt my current vocal teacher will help lmao
This is certainly a very niche request, apologies
Does anyone know any cheap but still good trustworthy hair salons or stylists in Columbus? Preferably near Ohio State campus but I'm open to driving if it gives me better options. I usually do my own hair, but I have an idea that would definitely be better done with a professional lol. Those who work with more alt styled cuts would also be preferred! I don't have a lot of money to be paying a $300-$500 visit either which is why i emphasize on cheap. I'm probably cooked for what i'm looking for style wise with money but I still wanted to ask around!
I live overseas and my mom is putting together a box of stuff I can’t get over here. At the top of my list is Grippos Horseradish Potato Chips. Theyre a bit hard to find though. Does anyone know where to get that flavor in the greater columbus area? They recently moved closer to London, so West Jefferson, Plain City, Etc is ok. Hamilton/South Parsons area is ok too. But really anywhere in Columbus is fine.

Many more options if flying out of Cincy or Cleveland
"Fares must be purchased by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Dec. 2, 2024. Fares are valid for nonstop travel on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, through Mar. 5, 2025, except as noted"
Anyone know of a reputable local non destructive scanning service?
Fragile family heirloom books I’d rather not mail.
Ever since they finished construction a few months ago, they have the lights hooked up to a photo cell but it's reversed. The lights come in during the day and turn off at night. It's completely backwards. I have no idea why
Does anyone know of any good “Mommy & Me” type groups in the NW Columbus area? I’m a new stay-at-home mom and I’m hoping to get out of the house more in the new year. I know the libraries have some good programs, but I’m curious if anyone knows of other good groups/programs?
Thanks!
Anyone in Columbus do emergency hvac calls for aquatherm heating systems? Our heat has been out for 8 days and our apartment complex is telling us there’s only one company in Columbus that can solder the pipes to the heat pump.
i’ve been having really bad pain on the right side of my face that stems from my molars up my jaw all the way to my ear. i’m not sure if it’s from a cavity or a wisdom tooth. i’ve been researching and calling all emergency dentist in a 15 mile radius and have no luck. please help.
Figures, they show everyone but the Browns
I wanted to share a valuable lesson I've learned recently. After being laid off from my administrative and customer service role in February, I've been unemployed and job searching in Columbus since. Despite the challenges, I've come to realize that sometimes it's worth considering staying in a job you might not love, rather than risking uncertainty. Hopefully, the job market in Columbus will improve soon, and I'll find a new opportunity that's a better fit.
Hey all, I’m looking for some suggestions within the 270 belt for a group of 10 to 15 people who will be working virtually, but together. Our team likes to get together every once in a while and work on projects that require more focused writing. External reinforcers (coffee, food, booze) help a lot!
Specifically, I’m looking for somewhere that is:
Fee-free; Open from approximately 8am-5pm; Has food and coffee (bonus if they serve beer or cocktails); Ample parking (or reasonable parking)
These are places we love and patron frequently that fit the bill:
Olentangy River Brewing Company; Emmett’s Cafe-> Understory; One Line Coffee- Franklinton; Columbus Metropolitan Library- Dublin; Stauf’s- Neil Ave; Java Central Cafe and Roaster
We’re hoping to switch it up this next time, thanks in advance!
In an effort to try and make some new friends, I’ve started looking into local bowling leagues. I’m a 30 year old queer guy (who is admittedly not amazing at bowling) so LGBT+ leagues would be stellar, but not a requirement. I’ve been living here 6 years now but am typically hesitant to join a weekly commitment. Would love any insight anyone could provide! Thanks!
Last week, little palace closed down which was quite heartbreaking for me. I’ve lived in Columbus for just over a year now and went there normally 1-2 times per week. I like going out by myself, and little palace was perfect. It always had a handful of people in there, but was never busy. The food was solid enough and reasonably priced. Drinks were also very cheap and overall I just liked the vibes in there.
My question is what other places in and around Columbus can fill this void? I live in Vic village and everywhere I have tried in the short north seems a bit overpriced and not very conducive to people not in a group. Thanks in advance!
Feel free to use this document for links to the plan and where to email your support. There are also a couple templates for you to adopt but feel free to use your personal story and why this plan is important to you. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rvopv_J9bYu5F_lqcDXQ92-CSQum799KJZzGLIzFhJM/edit
To the person who hit my car and left… there are cameras all around. I hope once reviewed we find you. There were so many witnesses and non stopped to assist. I guess I’m not surprised either!
I need to make a copy of a key but all I've managed to find online is a kiosk at Menards that wants to ship it to me. Does anyone do it in-store? Thank you!
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! This is great! I was able to go to Ace and get some keys made. Hope this thread can be useful for others
Guys, my husband just called and said someone drove into the triple A store in Delaware.
I am graduating from Ohio State and I am looking for some good gyms near and around the campus. Something affordable
I am also looking for friends to go to the gym with or just hangout with.
This is going to sound a bit crazy but here it goes.
Tl;Dr moving to Columbus from LA and we have never been there. Would love some recommendations on just about everything
My wife and I are a bit tired of Los Angeles, CA. We are not rich but are comfortable and consider ourselves moderates. We took a sabbatical this year and decided to move to an entirety new area to explore and see if we wanted to put roots down in southern CA or if we could find a better fit elsewhere. We have lived overseas and in Texas but spent most our time in CA. After a lot of searching we decided on Columbus, OH for a lot of reasons and will be arriving this week.
Now the crazy part, we rented an Airbnb for a couple weeks but do not have a place, a car, clothes for the weather or know much about the area beyond what we found online. We have never been to Ohio or even the area. We work remote so no worries about a commute. We are thinking we may buy and have a 200k budget but can rent if it's not a good market. Looking for a smaller place, 2 bedrooms are fine, and there seems to be a lot of options for that. Obviously, we would like a bigger home but I am finding decent places around 150k that are smaller but can accommodate us. At that price we are willing to cash in some of our retirement and just pay cash for the place to skip the +6%.
We are open to the area but have been looking around Linden and Franklin Park Conservatory. Would like something that is somewhat walkable or at least bikeable and a short trip to downtown or an equivalent area with restaurants and bars. We go out maybe once a week. No pets or kids and no plans on any. We are looking at Subarus and something like the Hyundai Tucson AWD. Dont mind used.
With all that said, would love some recommendations about....anything really. Realtors, locations, home inspectors, cars or dealers to check out. We also don't really have winter clothes. It's 60 here, looking it seems it will be 20 when we arrive. Wife is going to have a lot of fun on a shopping spree lol. Any recommendations on coats, boots, etc would be lovely. We just have light jackets and sweat shirts ATM.
Sorry for the long message and thanks for any recommendations or anything. I get it's not the smartest move but we are stable enough we decide to just jump and see what happens.
We used to go to Albert Tree Farm but it seems like they didn't replant in the past and now all the trees are crap. There's Pines and Needles but they just have badly trimmed white pine. Any places that have decent Canaan fir, blue spruce, etc?
Hi! Does anyone know where to find a Salvation Army Angel Tree? I haven’t seen one this year. If one of your workplaces has one, I would love to snag a tag!
I recently moved in to an apartment building with my partner, but given it is only a 1 bed, we are only assigned 1 parking spot. The parking in the street is free, but it would require me to move my car every 3 hours, and given we both work from home most days it would require moving the cars many times during the work day.
I was looking for parking garages or lots where I could keep my car as I will only use it a few times a week. But nothing seems to be closer than 30 minutes walking.
I saw something about city parking permits, but given we live jn an apartment building and dont own the property I dont think that option is available to us.
Is there any other option that I could look into?
So I got a ticket in the village of Brice for speeding in a school zone. Except the direction I came from had zero flashing lights or anything indicating that the speed limit was currently 20mph until I turned the corner. I immediately slowed down, but that camera tags you almost immediately. So I rounded the corner at like 32. In the photos sent to me by mail, I'm actively braking to slow down.
But I've heard that speeding camera tickets can't be enforced? Or that a police officer has to actively be there for the camera ticket to be enforced. There wasn't one.
I've never blown a school zone before. And I haven't had a traffic violation in like 7 or 8 years.
Do I have any shot at actually being able to contest this and win?
Is this what it’s for?
Have you worked with an individual (solo or with a company) that is a master at the actual installation phase of carpet?
Searching this sub provides some great recommendations regarding price, but the room I'm installing in is a bit irregular.
Before I just throw my hands up and get an area rug, I'd like to see if there is a pro who thinks that he or she can do a great install in my situation.
