It's almost one semester till the towers has changed to 16-ppl suites. How do you guys think of your experiences and life in the towers?
Hello! I’ll be starting at OSU soon. After WFH for nearly 5 years, I have no idea what a place like OSU HR considers appropriate for dress code. Will this be like going back in time - suits, jackets, dresses? Hoping that OSU gear and jeans are OK… I prefer casual comfortable clothing.
does anybody know if i need to take math 1149 to take gen chem 2? i’m confused on the pre reqs
I hate finals week. I hate finals week. I hate finals week. Does anyone know the best time to get a table at Thompson without wanting to throw themself off of Morrill? Thanks.
im wondering which landlords are bad to work with. i’ve only been with pella and they’ve been good so far. im thinking about this north steppe house and wondering if they’re actually bad. i’ve heard a couple bad experiences with them from awhile ago but should i actually avoid them? any other ones i should avoid??
How does campus housing work for 2nd year scholars programs? Are we in the same dorm as our first year or what is the housing process for 2nd year Scholars? Thanks!
has anyone taken ochem 2510 with psaras mcgrier? i know he doesn’t give practice final exams and was wondering how it is formatted and also how it is 200 points when his midterms are 100 and we get similar time on both the midterm and final. i am slightly worried both on my grade and the time i get on this exam since i use up every minute on the midterms. please if anyone has any advice or can help :)😭😭
I have been noticing frequent posts about Biochemistry, organic chemistry and physics. Is there a Reddit group or somewhere else I can join to further help on these subjects remotely? I would like to help some of our fellow buckeyes breathe easier through these subjects, but I cannot come directly back to Ohio State, as I am busy with my own career at another university for my Masters.
I’m a transfer student and have not explored OSU that much. I went on google maps and haven’t seen Italian places nearby except a place called Bravo but I don’t want to take a CABS to Kinnear rd 😭😭😭
I noticed 3-4 Columbus PD cars parked by the smith lab area and a whole bunch of OSU police cars circling around campus. Does anyone know what that was about ?
He gets paid $9.5 million a year and lives in a $2.2 million dollar mansion in Delaware. How is he worth this much when he can't even beat an unranked Michigan at a home game? I know there are multiple people who are to blame for last weekend, including Chip Kelly, but you would think he would do better after three straight losses in a row. 7-0 to 1-4, what a downgrade.
So I'm coming to the end of my first semester and neglected my Intro to Engineering class (1100). I don't know why but for the first couple months I thought that the class wouldn't be graded and was just there to guide me through how the engineering program worked at OSU. I still did the assignments but turned a couple assignments in late. I am now looking at the grades section and am seeing that I have a 73% in the class, which I'm assuming means that this class will affect my GPA. I was wondering if there is any way to drop this class or to use grade forgiveness? Also how will this affect my chances of being accepted into the CSE program? I already applied and was going to receive a decision in December.
Yes I know this is a silly mistake considering the class is easy but I guess I put in more effort for my other classes and didn't think this class would be important. I would appreciate any advice.
If he won't fire Dumb Dumb Day, then he needs fired instead.
For over a decade now I've been wanting to rise up and go to school. Finally make it big with a proper career. But aside from the cost, the main problem was time. How could I go to class while also working full time? Might be nice if all my classes were online, but I find that's not always something you can swing. And if you can, it's supposed to be a lot harder to do online classes. It's supposed to be easier when you go to the lectures.
Until I saw this funny sketch and it got me thinking "Oh yeah, lectures can be recorded." And mandatory lectures suddenly start look like mandatory return-to-office orders for remote jobs. Maybe a relic we've moved past? Yes, there are still proctored exams you have to take. And if I'm having trouble grasping the material and need to ask clarifying questions, that's probably easier done in person than by email. But outside of that...
Anyway, what I thought/hoped was that if online classes weren't an option I could take classes that aren't technically "online," but have their lectures posted to Canvas so they're online in everything but name. Is that a reliable strategy at OSU? Maybe for some majors more than others?
Does anyone who did really good on Organic Chemistry 2 provide any information or insight on how to pass the course, I will be taking it next semester
Does anyone know if they do dental implants and if so the cost on them? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
I want to be an RA but I very much like playing video games in my free time. How exactly does being an RA work? Are there moments where you have to go do things without any notice at all? Someone said something to me about there being like "shifts" and what exactly goes on during that time. Also, are there like weekly meetings you have to go to as well? Thanks!
hello! as the title suggests, has any taken a philosophy course at osu or c-state? do u recommend it or have any thoughts to share about it as well? it’s not required for my major but i just wanted to take the class for fun as im interested in philosophical topics, but unsure how it’s taught exactly. would appreciate it if u guys could share ur experience!!
Hey, what's up. I'll be a transfer student in the spring. I'll be studying computer science but I was really trying to make friends before I get down there. I'm a huge sports fan so I'll be down to go to all the sporting events. I also play video games, I have a PS5 but I play fort and COD too. I also have a clothing line and look forward to working with other students. Just let me know, I can leave my socials in the comments. Looking forward to meeting you guys
if I don't use my dining dollars at all, do I get to take the money out of my account?
This was around 12:30 p.m. I bought my tickets to the game last minute, and I was in section 39B, row 9, seat 10. There were people around in my reserved seat. I kindly told them that this was my seat and they should make room, but they refused and told me there were no assigned seats. I told them that this was my reserve seat and I would stay there and they could move. They proceeded to call the security guard on me, making me prove I was in the right spot. I did prove I was in the right spot. And I told the security guard it was only fair that everyone else who accused me of being in the wrong seat to also prove they were in the right spot. None of which, could not because they were in the wrong seat. I told them this was blatant discrimination and they laughed knowing what they did was wrong. These were Ohio state students behaving in such a manner. One of them mouth to me "f--- you ni---" I was honestly disgusted and sick. And was made to move to a different seat, because I literally started breaking down. It made me more sad because I could tell on their faces that they enjoyed it. They had such a smug look on their face. The enjoyed exerting their entitlement and r**** on to me.
just keep getting emails about them and curious if they are things we have to do.
I like those robots and i feel that working with them would be fun I'm planning to get a new job next semester so I'm considering working there. What's your advice? Is that hard? How much do they pay per hour?
Also, are there any other on campus jobs you would recommend?
Thank you for any kind responses!
Hey all, I transferred to Ohio State a few years back while they were still doing the digital flagship program and received an iPad. I’m graduating in a few weeks and would like to remove OSU management from my iPad. Apparently there was an email sent out about how to do this, but I never managed to come across it. Does anyone know how to remove the management or who I can contact to remove it for me?
why are so many dining locations closed today? and why are some buses not running?
Would they take me inside the stadium? Not even on the field, just in the seating?
