Old chi accidentally ate piece of cotton

Hey so I have a neck pillow I just noticed has a hole in it and leaked some cotton on my floor and kinda blended in. I was giving my old dog (about 11 give or take years old) chihuahua mix a tiny bit of my lunch meat before leaving for work and he smelled and ate down a piece of cotton on the floor thinking it was the meat, which I didn’t notice right until he went for it. Should I be concerned? I’m leaving to work and won’t be able to keep an eye on him for the day. It was maybe around the size of a quarter.

Say hi to Chavo

I finally bought my first Chihuahua and my sister and I love him so much already. He’s 14 weeks old and a silly boy. We are so happy for him 🥰

I was doing dishes and realized...

I spend $100 per month on dog spa services for 3 of them (mini groom for one and nails for the other two) 😊😍 happily and my butt is coloring my own hair and going to Great Clips for trims. I am so cheap with myself but I will not hesitate on these pups haha. They get Barkbox and any new thing I see @ Costco for dogs is coming home with me. We are all crazy Chihuahua owners, crazy in love that is 💗💗😫🥰 (not to mention specialty food etc)...

What doesn't your chihuahua do that most do?

Mine doesn't tremble. He may shiver if it's actually very cold and we stop walking. But there's no nervous dog vibration.

Is it adopting or rescuing?

I bought this girl from a couple who couldn’t keep her because their landlord was kicking them out and they had to quickly choose between homelessness or an apartment that didn’t allow pets. My friends can’t agree on whether that counts as a rescue or adoption. I call it adoption but one of my friends call it rescue because who knows what would have happened to her if they couldn’t sell her. They said they weren’t ready to live on the street.

So what’s your verdict? Adoption or rescue?

I need desperate help with my Chihuahua

So I own Stella, a beautiful 1 year old chihuahua. About ten days ago, maintenance people came inside my apartment while my boyfriend and I were at work, to check in our place. Had our camera on to make sure everything was ok. Only thing we could see is that one of the maintenance guys bent down to maybe pet her? for a sec but that was it. Starting that night, Stella wakes up screaming like she is in horrible pain, stiff on one side of her body, and it takes like 30 seconds to calm down. This repeated every day multiple times a night, so after a couple of days we took her to the vet to see what was going on. Vet said it didnt seem like a seizure (our main concern) and that it looked like she was just stressed and scared, gave us some medicine for anxiety and for any possible pain, and sent us home. After the medicine, she even started with these episodes during the day, but shorter. Stella acts completely normal most of the day, she eats, she plays, everything normal. She does seem on edge a lot tho, like she never ever tried to bite us and ever since this started I tried to kiss her on her head a couple times and she got tense and tried to bite me (very rare of her). Yesterday I took her again to the vet and he just gave her another anxiety medicine and said that she did not look in pain (she had an episode at the vet) and if she continues like this to take her again in a couple of days for further treatment. I am just terrified. I feel like a bad pet parent for not being home while the maintenance people were here and I also worry it might be something else, like she might be in pain or something. Has any of you ever experience something similar with their chihuahua? Sometimes I feel like it might be pain because I barely touch her with my body and it triggers her, but also sometimes just the door opening triggers her as well so I am lost and very very worried.

PD: She has had episodes of screaming like this at night about 7 months ago, when she fell and hit her head (took her to the vet at the time) but only lasted like 3 days. It has been more than 10 days and it feels like it is getting worse.

Advice for Adopting a 13 year old chihuahua

I found this 13 year old chihuahua at the animal shelter and she’s super sweet and I think she’s getting attached to me. However, they mentioned she has bad teeth and gingivitis (she’s missing half her teeth) and she has luxating patella that she’s managing but seems severe. And I’ve noticed when she tries to pee it seems like she’s struggling; she squats a ton without much coming out, and sometimes she does this thing where she balances on her front two legs to try to help herself (but it doesn’t work).

Should these health issues be cause for hesitation? I’m unsure how much vet bills for her teeth would be, but I do want to keep her. Plus I worry she may be harder to adopt because of everything she has going on and she’s great company. There’s an option to become her long-term foster and the animal shelter would pay for her treatment, but I may have to give her away. I also planned on brushing her teeth to help keep them from getting worse.

Any advice? I know a lot of this is age related, I just want to make sure I’m making the best possible choice with adoption

Little baby boy sitsens

I wonder how/why he puts his little back feet through his front legs. Fully sits on his bum, like a little lad.

Chihuahua vs 3 cats

Okay, so long story short, I have had 3 cats since they were old enough to leave their mom and I came upon a female chihuahua who's human had to go to a nursing home a year ago (we clicked on day one and she is attached to me to this day; she loves my dad too, but I'm her favorite 😉). Originally I was going to keep her, but she would NOT be nice to my cats, barked and scared them away from me for about a week, maybe a little over a week. She needs all of the attention on her. If people are hugging, she gets upset and barks, so I've learned to pick her up when I hug someone now, lol. My parents thankfully took her in at that point, but not only do I want her back, my parents are also ready to give her back. But I NEED HELP! I need her back with me, just because of how much i love her and vice-versa, but how do I get her used to my three cats? They're all between 5 and 10, and the dog is, I don't really know, maybe 7ish? Is there anything I can do? I miss her beyond belief and I want her back. I will do anything, except get rid of my cats, lol. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
