am gonna take a futsal class in college and was wondering if sambas are good enough for an inexperienced soccer player!
I'm an older player pushing 40 who remembers playing with shin guards that basically went to your knees. Anyways, after 15 years it was time to replace my old diadoras. I bought some adidas Tiro Match Shinguard for cheap at the suggested size for my height but they just seem so small. They are about two inches shorter than my old diadoras and barely reach the half of my leg length. The width also only covers my tibia while the diadoras covered all of my front leg. I know current players play with barely anything under their socks. I'm just wondering, are my adidas Tiro Match Shinguard just the current's generation's average size or did they somehow slip a childrend's large inside the adult large pack?
Signed, confused older guy
My Copa Mundials have the insoles glued in and I’m not sure if it is worth ripping them out to try a different insole. I’ve also been told that the insole might break in after a couple weeks but I’m starting to get some serious aching on my left foot. Does it matter if the insole is glued in or not on a cleat, or should I just wait longer for the break-in period? Thanks.
I (29, M) recently started playing in my local club after not playing for several years and it's a lot of fun! My touch and feel for the ball is improving by the week, but I'm really struggling with my positioning and tactical understanding.
In practice matches I regularly find myself out of position where I can't receive the ball or I'm standing in closed up space. It doesn't help that every time I'm assigned to a different position where I have to look for different things each time.
So what resources can you recommend for learning tactics and improving positional understanding? I've watched a lot of videos on the topic, but it doesn't seem to click yet.
Also, what should I focus on during a practice match? I already know that I should check my shoulder 24/7, which I'm probably still doing way to too little.
Hi everyone, I have size 14 (US) feet. I've been searching for artificial grass cleats as I primarily play on AG. It's been really hard to find anything (Adidas/Nike for example only make up size 13). Does anyone have any recommendations for sites/manufacturers who make AG cleats in that size?
I'm a U14 winger/fullback (i play RB most matches)
If I train 1hr on Tuesday nd Thursday, what drills should I be looking to do? Should I buy cones? I have a few ideas already:
What do y'all think?
ive been trying to learn how to do the basic roll onto your foot and flick up to about waist height for juggling ect but haven't been able to find any detailed tutorials guides or tips

Just splashed out on this official match ball. Love the “grip” but when I strike it, it seems to feel hard on the foot. When I press the padding with my fingers it feels super firm.
Some other official match balls I’ve tried in the past, that were also fifa quality pro, have felt softer when striking them and maybe the padding felt slightly softer or bouncier.
I pumped the ball with a gauge to the specified 11.6/0.8
Bought the ball direct from adidas.
What are your thoughts?
Is this what modern balls are now? Were previous generations as “soft” as I seem recall?
I was looking to buy a turf boot, looking at the listings i have 2 options Adidas Deportivo lll TF and Puma Vitoria TT Football boots. Pls suggest me one.
i haven’t played for a club before, but i went to a tryout, paid some money, and now they’re asking me to join and pay monthly. they said they like how i play and want me to join, but is this how it usually works?? or am i getting ripped off? would appreciate if anyone replies.
So here I am wanting to become a striker.
I know I have to train various parts of my game.
I was wondering if this schedule was good:
(All sessions would be by myself, currently own 2 footballs, 10 cones)
Location: Park (with some tiny hills), possibly a small pitch with goal posts but need to investigate further to see if its still there.
Mon: Shooting + Leg Day Tues: Dribbling + Push Day Wed: Passing + Pull Day Thurs: Skill moves + Leg Day Fri: Game Day + Push Day Sat: Sprinting & Plyometrics + Pull Day Sun: Rest
Gym sessions would normally be 1-1.5hrs
Football sessions most likely close to 2 hours but unsure how I can train alone for that long.
On top of this will try my best to do 10k steps a day 8-9 hours of sleep Not that much screentime Keep up with uni work
What do you guys suggest I can do?
Hi, i am a 18 year old player in his last year in high school in Norway. I had my break out season this year where i started every game in the 4 division and been doing very well.
I have below average grades, have tried studying but am never able to do it long, just isn’t for me. School is draining my energy and am almost just there because of my mom and friends. Just isn’t for me. I have received 2 different trials in January for teams in the second division. And have talked to my school about this if i do get a contract, the advisor recommends me to stay finish school until may 31 and focus on school. While my dad really wants me to pursue fotball but then i would have to drop out. And start the year over again to where i would play eventually. What would u do in my situation?
I am currently 17 and have been playing football since i was around 8. I have always been a top performer and always put in maximum levels of effort. However over recent months i have seen a significant drop in my lack of motivation/energy during football training and matches and it is effecting my performance heavily. I am a defender and have always been active on my feet and willing to run straight into big tackles however recently ive noticed that ive got no drive/motivation/energy to do basically anything. I jog round the pitch and occasionally put a tackle in and play a few passes but thats it really. I dont know if im just lazy or theres something else to it. My life over the recent year or two has got alot more busy yet i believe that i am still getting enough sleep and eating the same. I just want to know what may be the cause and what i can do to get my energy levels back up possibly.
I play indoor right now and I want to improve my endurance during the game. It’s winter so too cold to run outside. I started jogging on treadmill in the gym. 1.0 incline. I like that I can maintain and control pace, but the pain on my lower legs is so much. It feels like my lower legs are about to shatter. So I can only run on the treadmill for about a minute at a go, then I’ll do a slow walk for 1:30 and repeat over and over. If I tried to run longer than a minute, I would stop running not because I’m exhausted, but because of the pain in my lower legs.
Is there a better solution ? Or should I just continue doing this?
Edit: My legs hurt when I run on the treadmill but they don’t hurt when I play indoor (turf)
Hi everyone, just looking for some advice on indoor shoes for U10 girls I believe it’s going to be a wood floor for the winter sessions and I was just thinking about what would be the best type of footwear.
I’m a 8.5 US in the Mizuno Morelia Neo Pro IV Turfs. Is the Neo Sala Beta MIJ sizing the same? I plan to order a pair on eBay for indoor turf league.
For additional reference, I’m a 9 in New Balance 442 v2 Turfs and 9 in Mundial Teams and a 7.5/8 in Copa Mundial FG
I'm in a few soccer subreddits and I've seen more than a couple of posts where either someone is shitting on their teammate OR they were the ones who got shit on.
Obviously everyone has a job in the game but it's a team sport. Teams need to support each other as much as possible and recognize each other's strengths and weaknesses. They're their to cover for you and your there to cover for them. Instead of complaining work on helping them improve. And mistakes don't always mean u let a goal in/u missed a goal scoring opportunity. There are mistakes that happen way before that that people ignore because it didn't cost a goal but could've led to one.
It annoys me a lot and it's very non-constructive.
Just been to Sports Direct and tried on some Nike Lumas - extremely tight. The guy recommended Puma Futures but they only go to an 11.
Since stock for size 12 isn't great in UK I'll have to take a punt and order online.
Any recommendations please?
Quick story: I was playing as a winger about to shoot a goal however before this and previous matches I would miss every shot. Although I had great vision and passing, I couldn’t shoot to save my life. I was wearing trainers while people were wearing boots. I doubted my abilities which inflicted my self doubt. I did turned around and passed it to my teammate behind me instead who ended up missing. The opposition goalkeeper called upon me and told me to my face “you are definitely the best player here, the best player”. (Just to clarify he was being very sarcastic)
At that moment, I was about to crash out. I just felt a spark of anger. I just wanted to score free past them and go up to him and say “hey, you. How does it feel to be the worst player on this pitch right now?”. This never happened I was brought back to go and goal and the matter is about to end anyway. I felt angry for the rest of the night and had a sudden urge to just fix everything get stronger get ,get faster and be better at shooting. I rarely feel like this. There was one occasion where someone had insulted my maths skills. I took it personally and worked so hard that I ended up getting the highest grades out of all my friends and went onto pursue engineering and the PhD in engineering.
Right now, I am a bit overweight which affects my speed and possibly shooting capabilities in football. I did feel I need to improve but that feeling slightly went away when I went back home and just scrolled on my phone and played PlayStation.
It’s still there, but not as powerful.
I know I will need a complete overhaul of my life. I want that guy to regret it. It’s not just about him, but it’s about me becoming a better person to. Not taking disrespect and showing them what I can do and not be a useless waste of space.
There are a certain amount of various I want to work on in my life whether it’s fitness improving my academic work, increasing my spirituality and religious practices, and also starting a business and pursuing side projects.
How can I go about changing my life?
Some advice on what to do would be nice.
Im just trying to become a striker like my guy Isagi
Thank you

So a few months ago i got the tiempo 10 pros but they are too tight in the forefoot and im looking for something that is just a little bit wider in the forefoot also if you guys have any other recomendations then please tell me.
How can I make a good training plan for a winger? I usually just list out things I have to work on then go on TrainEffective and use the free training plans that work on what I’m trying to improve on. I hate the way it’s not planned out and feel I can improve a lot more if I had a structured plan to follow. (I am a 16 year old inverted Left Winger by the way)
This MIGHT be a dumb ass question so ready urself. I'm getting some Kipsta boots from Decathlon, but I'm not fully sure what size to go to. I'm a 26.7cm and on the website it says I'll be a size 8 but i'm still growing and idk if I should trust that. If the 8 was too small, would I be able to switch it to an 8.5 perhaps?
