How can I find out if on average teams cross more balls during the 2nd half?

I got this theory that teams generally cross more balls in the area during the 2nd half. Where can I find the data to check this?

Detailed Player Stats Needed (Best Italian Defenders Ranking)

Hi all!

I want to find out - using meaningful defensive stats - who the greatest Italian defenders are. I know there are a few names that are popular, such as Maldini, Cannavaro, Baresi, Nesta, etc. But I would like to use statistical evidence to somehow rank them, instead of relying on public perception, trophies / accolades / games won, and whatnot.

However, I wasn't able to find a user-friendly platform that contained stats such as:

  • tackles won per 90,
  • interceptions per 90,
  • clearances per 90,
  • aerial duels won per 90,
  • pressing related stats, etc.

Are such stats available anywhere, especially for players whose heyday was an older era, before data received three recognition it deserved? If so, on which website or platform can I find them?

Thank you!

Managerial Win-Loss records broken down by Home vs Away

Need something relatively simple - that I'm not able to find online

Want Mourinho and Pep's Win-Loss records (overall would do) broken down by Home/Away.

I've got overall Win-Loss Records here (very helpfully broken by team) - but not broken down by Home/Away

In general - is there any website that provide football stats at the same detailed level that say, ESPNCricinfo provides for Cricket?

How to know how your team would do in a different league using stats

Despite not loving either of these teams I can appreciate how big Rangers and Celtic are. I started to wonder how they would do in the Premier League with the current players they had. I used the English teams in Europes stats and found the ratio between their European and Premier League stats. I figured out from that how Celtic and Rangers would play in the Premier League. I made a YouTube video on it and the feedback I've had has been great. I'd love it if it got to 500 views and would love it if any of you gave it a watch, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxKllPVh2aE&t=6s. Thanks.

Minutes Played Definition

Hi All,

Wanted to know if anyone has found or knows the definition for the Minutes Played stat:
first Situation:
Player Starts - player gets credit for "Game Played"
Half goes 45+ 2extra minutes. - Does the player receive 45 minutes , or 47 minutes?

Second Situation:
Player is out.
45 minutes complete => Player goes in => 7 minutes of extra time. Does the player get 0 Minutes Played, but a "Game Played" stat, or do they get 7 minutes and "Game Played"?

Is there a difference in how these stats are tracked in Pro / vs High School/University (Clock counting down)?

Thanks for any insights.

Cheers,

New website for all things football - The Football Scholar

Like many of you out here, I too am a football enthusiast who loves watching, learning about and discussing this beautiful sport. With that in mind, I decided to create The Football Scholar. Through this website, I aim to discuss all sorts of things related to football: match analyses, team reports, tactical systems, recent events, and even Football Manager stuff for those interested.

I have many plans for this project going forward (Youtube channel, podcasts, etc), but for the time being, I'll share my work through well-written articles. If you like my content, dislike it or have any suggestions, please let me know. I will appreciate all the feedback I can get.

PS: While the website set-up is mostly complete, there may be a few features that won't work as intended. Since I do not have prior experience with website-building, I'm still learning and with some experience and your help, I'll work towards making improving my content delivery. I hope you enjoy it!

Europe and Soccer

Dear football fans,

Which football clubs do you see as your club’s biggest rivals? How important are the Champions League or Europa League for you? What do you think is important for your club to function well as a team? What have been your most emotional moments as a fan?

For our research project EUFoot (www.eufoot.de), we would like to find out what fans from top national leagues in Germany, England, France and Austria think about football and Europe. We kindly ask you to fill in a short questionnaire (10 min.).

www.eufoot.de/survey

As a reward, you can win one out of five Amazon vouchers (£90/ 100€ each).

Thank you for your support!

Best/most competitive league's--Yeah, I asked it.

I was having a conversation about Barca being the potential UCL winner this season and it sparked the question for me, "what are the best/most competitive league's in the world?"

More importantly, what criteria is important in defining the best or most competitive league's?

When you think about it, UCL and Europa are pretty good measures for the strength of European leagues. UCL champions or even number of competitors shows the number of elite teams in the respective leagues and how they perform against other leagues elite teams.

For Europa, it kind of shows the depth of the respective league's, right? It shows beyond the Real Madrid's and Barca's, and beyond the Bayern's, and Juve's, what league's have teams that hold their own weight against team's in other European league's that aren't considered "elite." This "depth" shows, at first glance at least, what elite clubs have it the hardest in their domestic league's statistically. Where are the 2nd tiers champions?

This could really help define what league's are most competitive. The leagues that have the most 2nd tier, European tourney competitors and WINNERS should be the most competitive, right?

Tell me what you think! What criteria do you use to define the strength of a league? Why? And what do you think about using UCL and Europa League results to help determine European league strength?

Bundesliga Viewership (Especially in the Middle East)

Hello everybody, I am in dire need of this and I have looked everywhere but is there a way that I can find out how many people view the Bundesliga in Total on TV. Can I also please know if there is a more specific demographic, such as the viewership in the middle east?
