Looks like Common Crown's got a space secured, signs are up in the windows and works going on in Bridgeland neighborhood of Calgary.
I am assuming no brewing at this facility, just restaurant and bar and patio.
I was excited to see Odd Company expanding south of the river last summer, but ever time I go I get service and quality lower than I get from the other breweries on 99th/Happy Beer street.
Am I alone? Are others seeing that Odd Company has tried to join the vibe but failed?
Long live Omen, Bent Stick, Monolith, Shiddy's...
Edmonton: Is Growlery's second location the former Mercer tavern across from Rogers?
I'd love to be in on the business modeling for places like this. Proximity to the arena seems like a gold mine on game nights and concert nights, bonus for a playoff run. But the rest of the days... is that enough to sustain craft in a neighborhood that glugs down cheap macros by the gallon? Campio is a rousing success - I think - but what will it take for the Growlery boys (great people, by the way) to pull it off?
Their posts always gave me a chuckle and often topical. Sticking it to those who need to get it stuck to. Good luck and godspeed. o7
Jalapeno brews are usually not my thing. However, when my local brewery in Wainwright tries something new, I have support and give it a go. I really enjoyed this beer. To where I stopped for a taste and stayed for 3. What surprised me is that it turned out to be well balanced and very drinkable.
I'm not an expert beer taster, but the definitely jalapeno on the nose and on the second pint I got a bit more heat but it finished off well.
If you in the Wainwright area, I would recommend to stop for a pint. There is also a limited run stout thats I enjoyed.
I'm hoping if folks continue to support it will encourage them to continue off some of the more unique small batches.
Hey friends, just a shameless plug - Brewsmith Brewing is FINALLY opening our doors in Bowness on Saturday November 23rd with a Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday November 30th. We'll have seven beers on tap from our serving tanks for next week. Let me know if you have any questions! Here's our hours for the first week.
As title states, looking for a good amber. My favorite beer was thirsty beaver from tree brewing but it's no longer available anywhere. Also really liked long hop red and Tamarack Yard sale but again I can't find any of them anywhere.
Can someone explain to me how Bloom Culture #2 from Cold Garden has won 2 awards this year? Looking for a serious breakdown as to why? What am I missing?
I've got around 70 growlers collected from across Canada and the US. We're now downsizing and don't have space to bring them with us. Anyone have any ideas for what to do with them beyond recycling, or who I can off load them too? Thanks
Establishment won. Also lots of love for Polyrhythm, Bent Stick, Ale Architect and Two Pillars
Been out of country and only managed to sneak into two house for their Festbeir Marzen so far these past two weeks. What else is out and about on tap or in can to take home?
Is there anything else they put in these beers? I had one tonight and I felt like I travelled to Mars. I understand it’s 10% but are there any drugs or something in it as well?
Bunch of cascade and centennial ‘bout ready for picking, probably be a good half+ grocery bag worth, in SE.
(Cowtown Yeast Wranglers’ FB doesn’t allow posts or I certainly would offer them there.)
Hey Gang,

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if the brewer from Outcast is at another spot now, or maybe just skipped town? I know they were apparently terrible at running a business, but I really do think they had some great beer.
Just saw this posted to Facebook, doesn’t sound good…
So my Inlaw had just mentioned seeing an interview with a brewer in Jasper that was set to open the day before the fire.. I hadn’t heard of another one opening so was kinda shocked.. is he right or is Jasper Brewery the only one out there..

I have been in the Crowsnest area for work and the Rumrunner is carrying a beer called Toucans from a Fort McLeod brewery. It is sooo delicious but I can’t find it canned anywhere in Calgary. Anyone have a tip if they e seen this beer?
I know this is for Alberta beers, but this beer I am looking for is brewed in California any idea where I can find some?
After watching a few other breweries shutdown these past few months guess we should figure out who new has opened up the past few months
Calgary's got the tap room for boiling oar finally in the deep southwest and Buffalo 9 a bike ride up some hills from sunalta area breweries or a short walk from wild rose and vaycay/burwoods building. Also soon in bowness is Brewsmith's opening.
Bragg Creek has got Cowboy Trail Brewing that appears to be open.
Whats gone on the past few months in the rest the province?
Curious.. any discords for Alberta Craft Beer makers or other locations that y’all can point me in the right direction for help and conversation with other locals..
