An abandoned chiesetta in Italy [oc]

    Gioiello Gotico Nascosto

A small abandoned chiesetta, hidden in the hills of Italy. The ceiling paintings still whisper stories of the past, while decay slowly takes over. Getting inside? A challenge—especially alone. The only way in was through a high-set window, with no one outside to hand me my gear. I had to get creative: climbing slings for support, securing my tripod and backpack on an old window hook, then pulling them up once I was inside. It took some problem-solving, but in the end, it worked. How would you approach a tricky entry like this?

Spiral staircase in abandoned château [oc]

    Watch You Fall

The gracefully curved spiral staircase of this abandoned château tells a tale of past grandeur and inevitable decay. Once a masterpiece of design, it now struggles against time—its roof leaking, water seeping into the upper floors. The damage is evident, plaster crumbles, wood softens. Yet, the architecture retains its beauty. The view into the stairwell is mesmerizing, as if it holds the answer to how much longer these steps will endure.

    Abandoned Castle in Romania [oc]

    Castelul Albastru

The entrance hall of this abandoned castle still holds a certain grandeur. The massive balustrades on the first floor add to the depth of the space, while soft light filters through the tall windows, illuminating the faded colors of the walls. Once, this was the grand reception area of a proud residence, where guests were welcomed in style. Today, silence and slow decay have taken over. Only a lone caretaker remains in the lower rooms, while the rest of the building is left to the passage of time. Does he still receive visitors, or is the past his only companion now?
