So basically this was the mall my parents took me to a lot as a kid and since it’s closing I thought it would be fun to see images of the mall back from the 70s,80,and 90s before I was born, however said things are almost impossible to come across online. I’ve heard they used to have a water slide and outside of some news paper articles and one really short clip in a video I found i can’t seem to find anything else on it. I can’t even find a list of stores from over the years. So I figure I’d ask here and see if anyone could help me out with my search.
Found this gem today. Very good footage from the grand opening of the infamous Forest Fair Mall in 1989. You get to see several shots of the mall, including storefronts.
Office depot, Best Buy, Journeys shoes, Middle aged womans stores (talbots, loft, ann taylor, dressbarn ect)
Jcpenny, macys, kohls are going down the toilet but belk, dillards, boscovs, von maur arent showing signs of stress. I actually think some of them have opened 1-2 locations in the last couple of years. Whats going on here?
