Asking as I can't find any info about it. Maybe a Glock drum would work with a B&T box? Figured it'd make the gun look beefy in photos, don't really care about practicality, only cool photos!
Thanks!
I’m working to develop a better charging handle for a sub gun project and hoping someone would be willing to send me a vid of how the charging handle latches on the TP9.
If all goes well I could develop a solid charging handle for the platform as well that wouldn’t cost over 100$
Looking for suggestions on a decent B&t gunsmith. Had some feeding issues every now and then before adding aftermarket parts. Sent it off to gigliotti for a trigger install and now having issues with the slide getting stuck after each round. I’ve tinkered with it enough and can’t seem to fix it, so I’m wondering who I can send it off to.
I honestly had no idea how different the Steyr is compared to the B&T variant.
Just got a RAL TP9, but I’m wondering if the aluminum top cover is a worthwhile upgrade. I doubt there’s any issues with the polymer causing zero shift, or at least I haven’t seen anyone mention it, so what are the benefits? If it is worth it, is Empire the only one that makes them?
As the title says, im curious if it's worth getting the TP9 RBS trilug adapter for my newly acquired RBS can. I have an Otter Creek Labs Lithium 9 that I use on my APC9k and it's pretty sweet! Buuuuut... it isn't the quietest. It performs awesome for what it is, an extremely light and compact can, so if the RBS is considerably quiet (I wouldn't know yet, I literally picked mine up today after being approved this morning), then I may shill the $200 to get a trilug adapter for it.
The TP9 factory SBR is backordered and I was told the wait could be anywhere from 1 to 6 month. So I pulled the trigger and bought it along with the RBS can. The can stamp cleared the ATF in only 4 days. Luckily this is confirmation the Factory SBR will be coming real soon.
I just got a brand new TP9 and I’m running into an issue. Whenever the magazine is inserted and the bolt is locked back, the bolt release will not release the bolt. I don’t know if it is because the release is stiff, due to being a new firearm, or if it’s a magazine issue.
Any thoughts?
my biggest question is what's the trigger like? Is there a B&T with a good trigger, I know very little about the brand, other than their expense, diverse lineup and aesthetics
Can i use any AR charging handle for the tp9 ?
Quick question-does anybody know if there are TP9 lowers available anywhere? I searched online and I couldn't find one initially. Specifically the plastic composite part.
is the tp9n polymor similar to those on glocks for laser?
After 7-8 months of ownership, an infinite amount of money, and two tax stamps later, I’m still not in love with this thing. Obviously, it’s one of the coolest looking guns ever. But outside from that, I’m not exactly impressed with its performance or much else. It’s just kind of meh for me now…Part of me really wishes I went with the SIG MPX. I just feel like getting this thing off my hands would be such a pain in the ass it’s not worth the effort. Anyone else feeling this way?
Went to the range today to test more ammo with the KCI mags.
I retested flat nose. The malfunctions seem to have gotten worse lol. Every round on the left feed ramp failed to feed.
Now for ball ammo... This is where things got weird. On both a half mag and full mag the left round would fail to go into battery slightly. However it would go into battery after pulling the trigger but it would not fire. Requiring you to re rack the weapon and ejecting the unspent round.
To verify it was not a gun issue or ammo issue I loaded up some factory mags with both types of ammo and had zeros issues.
These tests were done both suppressed and unsupressed.
Anyone know if I can use normal gun grease on this or will this harm the polymer?
Also I have some Lucas spray cleaner. Is this safe to use? Thanks
Update: I used the Lucas spray degreaser on it... Seemed to be fine. I was careful not to remove the lithium grease for the "polymer on polymer parts" (safety and mag release).. I regreased the metal parts with Lucas gun grease. It seems to have improved trigger pull slightly.
Hey everyone, finally got my SST housing back from Gigliotti and installed, and without the top cover on, I've been able to get it to work properly. However, the gun will not properly reset if I'm holding the trigger when I run the charging handle. and requires several attempts at pulling the trigger again before it'll pop into place and be ready to fire again. Reached out to them again, to see if they'll take a look at it cause I'm pretty much done trying to make this trigger kit work. I'd rather deal with a crappy but reliable trigger than deal with these issues
I've always had a TP9 on my 'grail gun' list, for some reason I just really like how they look.
Now that I've actually looked at prices and how they perform, I'm a little less sure. 2300-2500 dollars plus another rack for the can - that's not cheap. Browsing this sub, I see a lot of people with hundreds of dollars in aftermarket triggers, magwells, and other parts; are those all necessary for a reliable gun? And that's not even getting into optics and lights.
Were I to buy a TP9, it'd be primarily as a bag gun and something to carry when I want a little more firepower than a pistol but don't want to keep a rifle on me. I'd 100% want the suppressor - subsonic 9mm is great fun and that looks like quite a good can. I've got a few questions regarding the whole thing:
Are all the aftermarket parts I see on here needed to get the TP9 to a reliable state? Or are they just cosmetic/user experience upgrades, like a nicer trigger?
With all the necessary things - gun, can, optic, light, etc - what sort of a price tag am I looking at here?
Would I need to SBR the gun? I'm fine with the stamp for the can, but SBRs with the interstate travel limits is a pain.
Just in general, is this a good gun? Hell, is it enjoyable to shoot?
KCI mags do not feed flat nose ammo into the TP9 reliably. 2 out of 5 rounds jammed usually on the left feed ramp. OEM mags work great with all ammo. I will be testing round tip ammo soon but my current thoughts are that it will feed fine.
Anyone know if this can is rated for 9mm? I know .380 and 9mm bullet diameters are essentially the same. Tired of waiting for the TP380 and this can threads nicely on my micro Uzi.
Realized I've had the can for a few weeks now but never got around to posing a picture with it all put together
Welp, I guess I joined the club today! Managed to snag this one for about $1600 and it even included the grip and the two mags. Stock, optic, and suppressor have already been ordered.
Btw, has anyone tried the Empire stiletto trigger? I'm looking at getting that too
