Red dot mount over ejection port

I'm trying designing a bracket mount for a red dot on a 1911 22 (I'll 3D print it). Since the ejection happens when the slide is back, may I be fine if the mount partially covers the ejection port when the slide is closed, but the ejection port is fully free when the slide is back?

Looking for opinions on what the community consensus is regarding the NX8 1-8 vs. Razor 1-6 II.

I have both added to cart. Your opinions will probably push me in the right direction.

Swampfox Tomahawk II 1-6

Sorry, couldn't find a way to add the photos, so I added the link.

From personal experience is there any positives, negatives using the crosshairs reticles vs. the 3/4 circle with a dot. See link.

Trying to purchase my first scope and can't decide on which style may be best. Or, is just a personal preference? I feel like the crosshairs would be easier to use and understand as a beginner.

appreciate the help!

Help with Close Range Zero on Aperture Sights.

This may seem like a bit of a silly question to some. But I’m after for some advice regarding iron sights.

I’ve bought some flip up aperture sights for a small, repeating crossbow of mine (Photo attached)

My objective is to have flip up irons running as the primary optic on this bow as I have another with an RDS and 3x magnifier. I want to keep this bow mininum maintenance. And as basic looking as possible.

The open irons that come installed on the bow are quite poor with no adjustment (magazine clip blocks the line of sight)

My rail at the rear where the RDS is currently mounted in the photo, is about 5mm-10mm higher than the rail at the front which leads to my issue. Will I be able to get these irons zeroed at 25 Yards. While they are sat uneven ?

I have tried messing around with the elevation on the front post but still seem to be shooting quite high. I’m unable to lower the rear peep and it only has a windage adjustment built in. I can not find a super low Picatinny riser that will bridge the 5mm or so difference, minimum riser height seems to be about 18/20mm

I cannot install a long riser across the entire top. as the fixed magazine needs to open from the top to load the ammo.

Any advice appreciated. Really just need to know whether it’s possible to get a close quarters zero with the rails sat at slightly different heights. Is there a particular set of sights that would be more suited for this setup. Or just give up the ghost and stick a red dot back on it.

I’ve been scouring the net for some different low profile iron sights but doesn’t really seem to be anything available.

TIA Dan

Best LPVO from local Cabelas

https://www.cabelas.com/l/scopes#f-type=LPVO%20Scopes&nf-maxavailquantity=10..9999999,1...10

Hey guys, would you mind recommending an LPVO from the following options? I ask because my work gave me a gift card for $350 for Cabelas/Bass Pro. The options are kinda limited, but I have a cheapish AR anyway so it doesn't need to be crazy. The above link is for the LPVOs they carry.

IDK much about the cabelas brand stuff, probably bad. Leaning toward a Vortex. Would you guys agree with that, or can I save a few bucks for some ammo?

Seeking You're Input on LPVO Decision

The V warranty is a choice factor for sure. A key selling point in the optics market. I'm looking to shed weight as my main focus, so all is being considered. This is going on a AR10 SBR @ 8.7 Lb

I currently have:

Vortex Viper PST II 1-6×24 = 22.7oz

ADM Ad-Recon weight 8.04oz

Total = 30.9 oz

Mount Ordered:

Reptilia AUS 30mm = 5.82oz

My LPVO choice.

Delta Stryker 1-6×24 = 17.9oz (Opt 1) (Ordered)

Vortex Razor 1-6×24 = 21.5oz (Opt 2)

Total with mount

Opt-1 = 23.72 oz (My choice)

Opt-2 = 27.32 oz
