are the post 87 tec 9 frames just as prone to cracking or does the buffer protect them a little more

Is it possible for me to get a stock for my intratec 22? I’ve been looking a lot recently and I can only find one that has a buffer tube, but since it’s “made to be like a VZ-61 scorpion” it should have a wire stock attachment right?
Hi folks, here is a review of my Tec 9 and the first major Hollywood movie the gun appeared in. https://www.youtube.com/@hollywoodguns
Hi everyone I'm an aspiring 3D weapon artist from the UK which sadly means it is hard if not near impossible for me to collect references by hand so I tend to use Auction sites for their high-quality photos of weapons I am trying to model. In my quest to model an accurate tec 9 for my folio tho I ran into some issues with this method a lot of auction sites don't tend to show the gun and its parts from certain angles as well as internal components from all sides.
So what I would like to ask from this community is if there is anyone out there willing to help by supplying me with high(ish) quality photos of your Tec 9s and their components from several angles.
everything was super smooth with the 30rd mag, switched to a 10rd and the rest of the session was jam after jam after jam. any pro-tips? the rso said to try stripping it down cleaning and oiling, but something tells me its mag related issues, sometimes it would feed two in at once
Hey everyone. So I just won a Tec-9 on gunbroker and after reading some of the posts here in the sub I have a few questions. First, the gun is a 70xxx serial number Tec-9 (not DC-9) with the smooth frame. I don’t know if it has the screw in rear cap or not since I don’t have it in hand yet. But reading here everyone is saying not to shoot the smooth framed guns because they are more prone to cracking. Has anyone had actual experience with this or is is just internet lore? I know it’s cheap plastic but just looking for some real world examples and such. I do plan on shooting the gun but not high volumes, just the usual range day throw a box through it every now and then. Also, would anyone know approx what year it was made with that serial? Thanks!
Ignore the lack of a trigger on one (i have to replace a part)
Wondering if this has ever happened to anyone… i was shooting my semi auto intratech tech 9 manufactured in 1987. On the 2nd round it went full auto on me for about 2-3 rounds and then i couldnt rack the gun back more than halfway. Took it apart and have a broken spring and plate in the back that i ordered parts to replace. Does anyone know what caused the gun to go full auto?
A friend gave me a Tec-9 several years ago. He said it didn't work and his gunsmith son-in-law had it for 6 months and said it couldn't be repaired. I popped it open and saw the tip of the firing pin was slighly bent. I didnt notice until I held it up to the light and slowly spun it. Then I noticed that I could feel it catching on a step in it's guide hole inside the bolt when I slid it in and out. I replaced the firing pin and went to the range. After 5x32 factory mags flawlessly spent I left with a shit eating grin and memories of that day for ever. So I come to this conclusion: this step-down inside the bolt just before the bolt face should have been made with a small taper or radius to prevent most of the bent firing pin malfunctions and reputation loss. When the firing pin heats up it warps enough to catch and once that happens it instantly bends. I don't know it this issue was addressed in later production. It would be difficult to confirm due to the location, a good firing won't catch no matter how you angle it on the way in. A tiny metal 2" long inspection rod would also be difficult because it would be up to a feel on that tiny edge to see if it's radiused. Also noted that the tip of the firing pin should be balled, not flat if it's not already. That will help keep it from catching the edge.
My og plastic receiver cracked near the back and I sadly haven’t been shooting it since…
Saw a DC9 in my local pawnshop yesterday for $700 w/2 mags, I’m very tempted to take it home but was wondering how much are these things going for at the moment? Appreciate on any insight.
I know it’s kinda silly to ask this but can tec 9s accept uzi mags? I just bought a tec 9 recently still waiting for it to arrive at my local FFL but a few years ago I bought a few uzi mags for no reason just thought they looked cool but now that I have them and this gun was just wondering if it would fit….
any of you guys work on or talk about 80% or printed tec9s?
