Starting this off with: I have ZERO sewing skills whatsoever, donât even know how to fix a lil hole in something lol (I was never taught by my mum and never had a reason to learn myself).
I cosplay here and there, and I really want to at least get into the basics and sew simple things from scratch (skirts and dresses mostly as my cosplays are very feminine but different styles of shirts would be nice too), I never do anything too detailed for my cosplays, itâs usually just a thrown together closetcos of some sort.
What can help me learn? Any good YouTube channels? Things I can read? Just wanting general useful tips and resources for wanting to learn

Hi -
We just inherited two pieces of stitchery / needlework from a dear friend. They have huge sentimental value.
They are 40-50 years old. They have not been cleaned or dusted in a very long time.
I'm looking for advice on how to get the dust off of them without damaging the very fragile bits. So far I've tried a vacuum with a soft brush and that's been somewhat successful. I'm afraid if I go any harder or closer with the vacuum that I will cause damage.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
Hello! I hope that this finds you well. I am looking for the Crosstitcher magazine for some new patterns to make. The Michaels near me does not carry it. Anyone spot one in the wild?
Silk shading/needle painting embroidery. Worked in DMC, so beginners can easily find the threads for the pattern.
My friends are getting married and they are very much into board games. All types. I am looking for a collage type cross stitch pattern that includes many types of games. I would like to stitch it and then add their names and wedding date below. Iâve looked on Etsy a bit but nothing caught my eye. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance đ€
