Help trying to figure out the ears on dragon pattern

https://theloommuse.blogspot.com/2013/08/how-to-loom-dragon.html?m=1

^^ Hello, I'm using the above pattern to try and make a dragon as a gift. I've read through the directions, but I'm still confused on how to do the ears. I have also watched the video, but I'm having trouble comprehending. Could anybody help break it down for me? Usually when I increase it's by using an empty peg, but this doesn't seem to be the case here. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

First ever blanket!

Hey guys! I’m not crazy new to loom knitting I did it often some moons ago and can bust out a nice infinity scarf working on it 3 days after work. How long do you think a blanket will take?/ how long have yalls blankies taken?

Is there a better way to purl?

This was the only method I could find on YouTube, but I find it very clunky, un-intuitive, and slow. Making knits is probably three times faster than this.

There are like three ways to make knits but this is the only way I could find to purl.

Any tips? Alternative methods?

Colour work

Hi! Working on my first colour work project. I'm using a 50 peg loom. Pretend colours are green as main and yellow as accent. So I can float the green from the peg before 1 to the peg after 3. How do I get the yellow from peg 3 to peg 1 for the next row. I mistakenly tried to bring it clockwise back from 3 to 1 but that didn't work. Do I float 2-3 pegs and lock it like fair isle or do I cut the yarn and just reattach at 1? I just don't know what to do when there's approx 47 pegs between the colour

How do I find patterns with the correct number of pegs on Ravelry?

I bought a medium round loom from Joann’s. It comes with a pattern but I’m not a big fan.

I saw the post for that Valentina hat and I love it, but I don’t have the correct number of pegs. It requires stitches in a multiple of 8 and my loom has 30 pegs. So that won’t work.

I don’t see a menu option for number of pegs on Ravelry, so narrowing down by yarn size and gauge isn’t necessarily helpful.

Any tips on how to find a pattern that works with my specific number of pegs?

Valentina Hat

Just got done knitting the Valentina Hat by Michelle Rynsai from a free pattern on Ravelry. The yarn is Malabrigo Noventa in colorway Rosalinda. I did mine on 40 pegs of a 3/4" loom (original pattern was written for 48 pegs on 5/8"). I think it came out great! The fit is a bit snug.

Wanting to make little doll sweaters!

Hi there! I've been scouring the internet trying to find a pattern or video tutorial on how to make a small sweater for a stuffed animal/small doll. Does anyone know of one? Thank you so much!

Baby swaddle

I'm pregnant with our first and finished this swaddle for him 🥹 I considered frogging and making a traditional blanket, but I'm due in January so I'd be wrapping him up like a burrito anyway.

The pattern I used is a modified owl eye stitch on a large loom and measures about 20 inches in length and 14 inches wide.

ChatGPT wrote me this pattern for an “unusual scarf, 9” wide and 68” long.”

Here’s a loom-knitting pattern for an Unusual Scarf that is 9” wide and 68” long, featuring a combination of textures and techniques to keep it interesting.

Materials:

•	Loom: 24-peg round loom (any loom with a minimum of 24 pegs will work)
•	Yarn: 2 skeins of bulky weight yarn (approx. 350–400 yards)
•	Hook: Loom hook
•	Scissors
•	Tapestry needle

Gauge:

•	Approx. 5 stitches = 1 inch (in garter stitch pattern)
•	Loom: 24-peg loom with 1/2” spacing between pegs (for 9” wide)

Finished Size:

•	9” wide x 68” long

Pattern Breakdown:

This scarf will be knit in a combination of garter stitch, mock cables, and eyelet rows to create an unusual texture. The garter stitch provides a classic base, while the mock cables and eyelets add interest.

Abbreviations:

•	k: Knit
•	p: Purl
•	yo: Yarn over (create a stitch by wrapping the yarn around the peg)
•	k2tog: Knit 2 stitches together
•	S1: Slip one stitch (move stitch from one peg to the next without knitting)

Stitch Patterns:

•	Garter Stitch: Alternating rows of knit and purl stitches.
•	Mock Cable: A faux cable created by crossing stitches without the need for a cable needle.
•	Eyelet Stitch: Yarn over combined with decreases to create holes.

Scarf Pattern:

Cast On: E-wrap cast on all 24 pegs for a loose and stretchy edge.

Section 1: Garter Stitch (Base Texture)

Rows 1-6:

•	Row 1: Knit all pegs (k24)
•	Row 2: Purl all pegs (p24)

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 6 total rows (3 garter stitch ridges).

Section 2: Mock Cable (Texture Accent)

Rows 7-14:

•	Row 1 (Mock Cable Row): *k3, S1, k2, pass the slipped stitch over the next two knit stitches (creates the cable look), repeat from * to end.
•	Row 2: Purl all pegs

Repeat these two rows for 4 repeats (8 rows total).

Section 3: Eyelet Row (Lace Accent)

Row 15 (Eyelet Row):

•	k1, yo, k2tog, repeat from * to the end.

Row 16:

•	Knit all pegs (k24)

Section 4: Repeat Textures

Continue alternating between Garter Stitch, Mock Cable, and Eyelet Row sections until your scarf reaches approximately 68” in length.

For a nice balance of texture:

•	Garter Stitch Sections: 6 rows each time
•	Mock Cable Sections: 8 rows each time
•	Eyelet Rows: 2 rows each time

Finishing:

Bind Off: Use a loose bind off (I recommend the stretchy bind-off method) to ensure the edge remains flexible.

Weave in ends: Use a tapestry needle to weave in any loose yarn tails.

Optional:

•	Add fringe or pom-poms at the ends for a more playful finish.
•	Experiment with using multiple colors of yarn for each section to create color-blocking effects.

This pattern creates an unusual and textured scarf with varying elements that keep the knitting interesting while maintaining a unified look!

Intarsia in round

I have a pattern I commissioned for a hat. It's recommended to so intarsia. I've never done this and have no idea where to start. All the tutorials show flat knitting vs the round. Anyone have any resources?

Slimming down loom collection - part 2(UK based).

Hello lovely people!

I'm on the last pass of slimming down my loom collection, would any UK people like any of the following:

  • Unbranded circular 5/8 inch gauge loom set:

    • Blue 24 peg
    • Pink 32 peg
    • Green 36 peg
    • Purple 42 peg
  • GONE - KB Looms 18" all in one loom with separators.

Not selling, they are free to a good home, with the caveat that you enjoy them.

If you're interested just send me a private message with where to send.

USA people - I'm only limiting to UK due to postage costs etc, if anyone is desperate for one of the above, let me know and we can work something out.

Loom knit T-shirt pattern?

I've been curious about trying to knit myself a shirt, but the only tutorials I can find on YouTube are for sweaters or really feminine tank tops. I'm a trans guy that just wears tshirts all the time. Does anyone know of a pattern that I could use? Preferably free as I don't have a job right now.

Scarf too stiff

I've begun to use my loom again after years but my scarf is turning out stiff. Is there anyway to fix this? What am I doing wrong?

Yarn Recs for Loops & Threads Knit Quick Set?

As the title says, I'm looking for yarn recommendations to use with the Loops & Threads Knit Quick Set. It's gauged for Medium-Bulky yarn, but I find medium too thin (even double-stranded), and I'm struggling to find a bulky yarn that is thick enough, too. Should I just find a size 6 yarn that's on the thinner side?

What I've used so far that I like is Loops & Threads Charisma, but even that leaves the fabric a bit more loosely woven than my preference.

Anyone else as picky as me? What are your go-tos? I'm partial to Hobbii, but I'm open to anything that can ship to Canada!
