I just finished this ornament for my wife andā¦ I didnāt give enough room to fit the hoopā¦ šš
Sigh, guess Iāll be starting over. Lesson learned.

Now that the gift has been given, I can share my latest finish! This was based on a pattern leaflet from the early 80s (no longer commercially available) but I customized the colors and many of the interior objects (self-drafted patterns) to look more like my childhood home. I gave it to my mom for Christmas. Lots of backstitching on this one and it was so satisfying to do!
Also I've finally figured out what framing technique I like the best: archival quality adhesive tag board covered in quilt batting, then the Aida wrapped around the board/batting and secured from behind. SO happy with the outcome!
I originally started this bad boy in July, and worked on it off and on in the months following. It kept me busy while I was pregnant with my little girl. She's now 2 months and I finally say it's complete! I plan to iron/mount/frame it after the craziness of the holidays is over.
Such a fun stitch and pattern, I really enjoyed my time with it.
2 over 2 on 14ct Aida.
(ignore the fuzzies on the bottom right, I didn't see them until after uploading! lol)
this is my first cross stitch project š and my needle snapped when i tried threading it under stitches to anchor it.
what did i do wrong?? how do i fix this??
My family does dirty Santa on Christmas Eve, but with a small twist. Everyoneās gift has to be homemade or thrifted. I found this frame a couple years ago and itās just been chilling in my craft stash. I thought this pansy pattern was a perfect fit!

First of all, Happy Holidays to all my stitching friends around the globe. I'm so fortunate to have found my tribe. š©· I'm not quite done yet, but I'm just hoping that I'll complete at least these 4 before Wednesday. I'm only missing hats, backstitching and names. Backstitching will go fast because I love to do it. If I don't get them all done, the 2 for my grandsons are the most important. Let's see what everyone has in progress! Please include pattern info and no charts in photos! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1612582675/snowmen-ornament-cross-stitch-pattern
I've never done a stitch-a-long before, but it sounds really neat.
Who is doing a 2025 SAL? What cool things are out there? I know someone posted a trans history SAL recently, which looks very cool.
Excited to see what everyone's up to and then become overwhelmed by options, lol.
If you remember watching Pokemon in Gradeschool, you likely remember the "Who's That Pokemon" segment heading to commercial. The cartoon would show the outline/ shadow of a Pokemon, and viewers were encouraged to guess who it was.Ā
I thought a similar thing would be fun with cross stitch WIPs. Each photo shows more and more progress towards pattern completion. Try to guess which Pokemon this cross stitch is of by looking at as few of the photos as possible!Ā
(ps Only had the idea half way through. Next project we'll start earlier in the process.)
I bought the pattern on etsy from Mommawitchcrossstitch. This is the first of three patterns I bought from her. I love to cross stitch but I don't have anywhere to hang these things. So I started stitching on clothing. Now everyone can enjoy it! I'm a walking art exhibit
Original pattern created on Stitchly.
First time finishing a piece in a hoop. It was a little nerve wracking because I did a poor job centering and feared I wouldn't have enough extra fabric to pull behind. Leave yourself lots of "waste" around your design, friends!
This is a gift for my mom, and I think she'll love it.

Finished this one just in time for Christmas (the day the Fellowship embarked on their quest from Rivendell)! I'll be giving this one to my buddy that loves LotR.
I love this hobby not only for the joy of creating something, but also then being able to give the result to that one specific person who will truly love the piece you just finished. The art galleries of our lives aren't just what's in our halls, but how we've decked the halls of those we love.
