Best neighborhoods for kids?

Hey all! Been looking at Saratoga Springs as a potential place to move our family! I was wondering if anyone would share some information about neighborhoods? Are there older elementary aged kids going to parks and playing outside with their friends, independently? Are there neighborhoods where this happens more than others?

What to do with kids in SS / Any events happening the weekend of December 14-15?

Hey all! We are from the Southern Tier and might be coming into town for a company event on December 14th with our two kids aged 4 and 7. The event is only 4 hours and we have to drive almost 4 hours there and back, so we were thinking of getting a hotel room from the night and doing some fun things with the kids while we are up there that weekend.

What would you recommend for young kids to do in SS in December? Are there any events going on nearby that might interest us??
