I walked in - told the host I wanted to look around before I would come back and eat.
Place looks really nice inside - booths, clean, etc -- giant menu too. Some will like, some will hate too many choices
Guy was really nice. We will try it soon.
A few months ago I saw a post on reddit and some news articles saying a new French restaurant has open in Utica, called La Bistrot. I wanted to go to it but google says it's permanently closed. I call the number and it just goes to a voicemail. Does anyone know what happened?

A friend of mine created this detailed dog training series a couple of years ago and I feel like it doesn't get the love it deserves. She's a fully accredited dog trainer and built this course over several years in order to save new dog owners money. Hiring a private trainer for your pup normally costs $100+ per hour and taking them to puppy preschool is typically $150 for 6 classes that just go over the basics (sit, stay etc.). Not to mention if you want to take your dog to the more advanced classes after puppy preschool it's hundreds more. She made this course so she can spend time with her pups whilst still helping people train their dogs.
Adrienne teaches everything covered there in this one course so you can teach your pup in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace and for a fraction of the price. The best part is, she works with you as you teach your pup, you can reach out to her whenever you run into any issues and she'll help. So you still get the 1 on 1 expert opinion that you'd get from a private trainer, all you have to do is send her an explanation or video of the problem you're trying to address or issues in teaching that you're having.
Delete this post if it's not allowed but I just thought this might help some new dog parents :)
Found gold in my grandma's basement! Are there any historical societies in Utica that could make use of this?
I keep looking and calling and getting sorry it's not available so why have the listing.

Center Stage Dance Studio (CSDS) is holding a fundraiser event called Music Bingo. Profits from the event will be used to offset the dancers’ competition fees.
The event will be held at the Burstone Inn, located at 1777 Burrstone Rd. It will take place on Dec. 13th from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in one of the Burstone Inn’s ballrooms. The event has a capacity for 150 people, and around 60 tickets have been sold.
Tickets for the event will go for $30 for general admission, $40 for a VIP ticket which lets you play along on two bingo cards instead of one, and $240-$300 to get a VIP table. The VIP table can have a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 10 people. It is $30 per person but they get the benefits of the VIP price (2 bingo cards). As long as tickets are not already sold out they will be available to purchase at the door starting at 6 p.m. or they can be bought online at comedycny.com.
Music Bingo, as the name entails, is bingo but with music instead of numbers being called out. Players will receive a bingo card with famous songs on it, these songs will be played on a projector and speakers, the name of the song will pop up after a few seconds of it playing giving players the time to guess what the song is while also not leaving people behind if they do not know the song. Six games of music bingo will be played throughout the event. The winner of each bingo game will receive a prize.
There are also many prizes to be given out at the event. The prizes were provided by the parents of the CSDS dancers and local businesses. Other than winning bingo, prizes will be given during the basket raffle and the 50/50 raffle (The prize of a 50/50 is half of the ticket revenue).
Attendees of the event are encouraged to dress festively, and to further encourage this there is going to be a prize given out to the person dressed the most festively.
The speakers and actual selection of songs for bingo are being provided by Phil Farda owner of Stage Time Trivia.
Stacy Moore who is a key figure at CSDS when it comes to putting on events like these explained, “This is actually our first music bingo that we are trying. We’ve done craft fairs, we do a Super Bowl raffle every year for a big screen TV with pizza and drinks package that goes with it, can and bottle drives, the kids sometimes sell things like Krispy Kreme or Gertrude Hawk.” Moore further explained, “We’ve done a craft fair for 4 or 5 years and we wanted to try to do something different, and we went to a Music Bingo that Phil does for another person that was doing the fundraiser and we had so much fun. We're like let's try this.” Moore also said that it is usually the kids who work the events but because this is an adult-only event it will be the children's parents who work it.
Moore also explained why the dancers need to do these fundraisers in the first place, “Every dance is a fee so like, we’ve got some kids that are only doing one or two dances, and then we’ve got kids that, they’ll do over a dozen of them, I had two kids in it at one year and one of my daughters was in 17 dances, the other one was in 12, every dance that gets registered at a competition has a fee attached to it, so it can get kinda pricey.”
Nicole DeVincenzi, the general manager of the Burrstone Inn, also has a daughter who is in CSDS. DeVincenzi is letting CSDS use one of the Inn’s Ballrooms free of charge as well as having the Beer Garden, the restaurant in the Burrstone Inn, cater the event, “They’ll be a bar in the room where you can purchase any beverages you may need and also a server for our restaurant, the Beer Garden, you can also get appetizers and meals if you like during this time”
DeVincenzi also explained that this was the first time they had done this type of event at the Burstone Inn, “This is our first time doing it here, and we're looking to see the outcome, maybe in the future do more things just through here at the Beer Garden” Later explaining her views of events there, “I think their great not only because my daughter is a dancer there, but we in the past years have had craft fairs here, so we donated tables, and then the craft fairs come in, do a craft fair, and it turns out really good so I’m hoping this is gonna be just as good. It benefits us as well because they come to see the Beer Garden, that word of mouth, and if they haven’t been here, so it advertises the Beer Garden as well.”
There will also be karaoke in the Beer Garden once the event is finished.
THE VERDICT IS 69 STEAKHOUSE! Thanks everyone!
About 7-8 years ago I went to MV and lived in Clark Mills. My parents came to visit (they stayed at Vernon downs) and we went to a restaurant with like $10 steak dinner or something like that. It was outside of Utica probably between Vernon and new Hartford. I can not find it or think of the name! It was definitely a bar also and not the newest if I remember right. Also it was out kinda in the middle of nowhere I think.
Edit: This place was all wood I think floors, walls ceiling and western themed possibly dive bar ish. The food was really cheap and they were known for their wings possibly.
Hello – I am a Rochester resident. I would like to try Buck seasoning and Utica grind hot pepper but they’re not available in my area.
I travel back-and-forth to Albany occasionally, what would be the best place to find both nearest the thruway? Is there anything else I should try while I’m at it?
Thanks in advance. Mark.
Hi all,
I am contemplating applying for a per diem RN job at Wynn and was curious about the working conditions. Would most likely be working nights on a med-surg floor. Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly... I worked at Upstate in Syracuse for 2+ years during COVID so I'm more than familiar working in a crazy environment but just curious if it's worth the stress.
Thank you for the input :-)
I'm going to a show at the Stanley Theater and it's been nearly 15 years since I last went. Where are the best places downtown to park around the theater?
Can anyone recommend an indoor car storage place for the winter? Doesn’t need to be heated.
Bonus points if it can be accessed and started once in a while. Or maybe even taken out for a spin on nice days
I'm 21F from Canada. I decided to be spontaneous and booked an Airbnb in Rome to spend the weekend. I go to the states pretty regularly, but I've never been to the area before. I'm open to everything, but I'm into anything that has to do with history, the arts, antique/vintage stuff, culture, all that jazz. If it's a hidden gem, even better!
Looking for stuff to do in Utica, but also in surrounding areas (Rome, New Hartford, etc etc). Looking forward to visiting and getting to know what Oneida county is all about :)
I'm new here and would love to find my fellow nerds. Game mechanics are fun and all, but a good narrative experience is my jam. I'm a queer woman and I'd like a chill, fun group to play with. I'd appreciate any advice on where to look.
I'm going to Albany soon and will be taking the New York Thruway from Utica to Albany. I see that it is cashless but how do I pay without E-Z Pass. Do they send me a bill by mail and I pay online or can you still pay cash as you go?
Thanks in advance for answering my dumb question.
Good Morning
I am looking for any and all resources you may use to find free/ affordable activities in the Utica and surrounding areas? Any help is appreciated! For both kids and adults. Thank you!!
I’ve been self teaching myself for the last 8yrs on & off Graphic design, coding, building LLM’s, I’ve made a phone app, q&a based bots, a clothing line, etsy store, shopify store, YouTube channels with Ai videos, TikTok shop, Amazon affiliate, created a few books for Amazon paperback & audible.. In addition to my full time job as an Accountant & raising my kids. I feel like I need to make some likeminded friends/accountability partners to bounce ideas off of in my age bracket (40’s) or younger, and someone who is also interested in the stuff I mentioned above to hopefully turn into passive income channel’s. I just don’t know where to connect with people as I am highly introverted, neuro spicy, and most people my age are not into tech or interested in learning new things or sharpening their skills, their either still getting drunk in the bars every weekend or too far up Trumps ass to have any brain cell’s left. Spent all of my 20’s & 30’s living in Brooklyn so this small town thing is a lil awkward to me, but I did go to HS out here. So just looking to vibe with likeminded individuals
