Looking for a finish carpenter with an attention to detail to hire for baseboard, crown molding, and trim work in Saratoga county. Not looking for a GC or a nail banger, just someone that cares about clean miters and takes their time.
We love you. You are protected.
I needed a new carving knife (long story) so I just stopped in to Compliments to the Chef. They had exactly what I needed. The owners were really friendly and helpful. I live about a 5 minute walk from there and had never stopped in and I’m glad I did. I’ll definitely go back! Just sharing because I hope others stop in for kitchenware needs, too!
Just bought a new house in the area and looking to set up trash removal service. Between Twin Bridges and County Waste, what is your experience and which is more reasonable?
Heya! My mother and I are hoping to visit Saratoga this winter and would love some tips while planning.
-We’d love a chill, relaxing trip with possibly a spa day -We’ll be taking the train up from NYC -Would love to stay in an inn or B&B (not airbnb) -Dates are flexible in Jan/Feb. We’d like to be there for Chowderfest on 2/8 if all the nice places aren’t booked up -Totally open to winter activities (snow shoe, snowboarding, ice skating) but could also spend a few days by a fire & eat good food -We also love history, architecture & the arts
Any recommendations for stays would be appreciated & any activities we should get up to in Jan/Feb!
I know the nightlife here is dead compared to places like NYC, but usually during Halloween weekend bars are kind of full. My friends from out of town are coming to Albany this weekend for Thanksgiving. Is it worth going to saratoga this time of year or staying here in Albany?
Looking for restaurant and bar recs with the best holiday decor in Toga?!
I am looking to have gifts made for my fiancés family as his grandmother passed earlier this year. I am hoping to have 10 glass butterfly ornaments or window hangings in varying shades of purple that have her name on them. I understand I am cutting it close to Christmas, but if anybody knows of any locals that could help I appreciate it!!
First, apologies for bringing it up before Thanksgiving but last year I waited too long to try and find something to do. Second, apologies I may post this in other subs so sorry if you see this again elsewhere. I'm looking for some live, holiday type of concerts. Not too picky when it comes to Christmas music; traditional, jazz, blues, rock, etc. I know Trans-Siberian is coming but where's there going to be some local music at a pub, brewery or club?
As the holiday season is approaching us, I am looking to gather items to put together warm wishes bags for homeless residents/ people in high need in Saratoga. It is really important to me to think of others and I know there are people out there that can help me.
For the warm wishes bags I am looking to include basic necessities & some comfort items as possible. This includes:
If you are cleaning out your home preparing for the winter please think of donating anything useful towards warm wishes bags. Anyone willing to contribute can have their name put on the bag with a special message to spread love to those who need it.
Life is hard for everyone, let's support each other!
Does anyone know when lawn passes are released/sold?
I accidentally bought a children's ticket to saratoga comiccon, DM me if interested in buying. I just want some of my money back, ugh I should've read better....
Couple of my windows got damaged while moving so I need to get them fixed asap.
Recently moved to Ballston Spa and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a place with good breakfast sandwiches. Thanks!
Are there an pet groomers that do cats in Saratoga or close by ? I have a long haired cat that sheds a lot and she kind of stinks so id like to take her to the groomer.
Thanks
Just moved to the area and have a couple creature comforts I’m missing in our new place including a spigot in the front of the house, an outlet in the garage, and some concrete work on the lip of the garage.
I’d be down to trade detailing services in exchange. I’ve got about a decade of experience working on everything from daily drivers to $1M exotics. I can do anything from basic details to corrections and coatings.
If you’re interested to shoot me a message to work everything out.
Oddly specific I know but me and my girlfriend are visiting this weekend and were wondering if there’s anywhere to get a good big pretzel or what the best restaurants in town are in general since I read it’s restaurant week. Any other suggestions for the best way to spend a weekend in Saratoga would also be appreciated!
Hello! I’m an RN from NYC that moved down to North Carolina and am now thinking of moving to Saratoga :) I know I won’t make what I was making in the city ($55 an hour) but down here I’m only making $38 an hour with 10 years experience. If there’s any nurses who can tell me what they’re making and where plus any other pros and cons from the surrounding hospitals I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Hey Saratoga locals!
My family and I are planning a weekend trip to Saratoga and we're looking for some fun, kid-friendly activities. Are there any hidden gems that I'm not finding with regular web searches? We're open to anything from outdoor adventures to indoor fun.
Here are a few things we're interested in:
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Kids are 9 years old.
Thanks in advance!
Hey all! We are from the Southern Tier and might be coming into town for a company event on December 14th with our two kids aged 4 and 7. The event is only 4 hours and we have to drive almost 4 hours there and back, so we were thinking of getting a hotel room from the night and doing some fun things with the kids while we are up there that weekend.
What would you recommend for young kids to do in SS in December? Are there any events going on nearby that might interest us??
Thanks for any and all suggestions!!! Can't wait to see your beautiful area for the first time!!
Hello! Posting for my friend that is currently seeking a decent job between the Clifton Park/Malta/Saratoga region. Possibly Latham area but depends on distance do to only having one car for two people. Any ideas please lmk! Thank you much!
Edit: Well they’re pretty skilled with construction type work, forklift certification and they’re also very good with computers/3D printers, stuff like that. They can adapt and excel at plenty of things
Would someone explain the difference between these 2 Facebook groups:
Anybody know of any groups, either here or on FB, for local service industry folks? Every town I’ve lived in has had one but I haven’t been able to find one for the area. Thanks in advance for the help
