Message ingress identified. The Collective initiates the assimilation of data streams regarding the impending Compatibility Update 3.11.2 for the ST:NH modification of Stellaris.

The information unit, encoded in a complex format, originates from the modification community's development sector. The essence of the message includes detailed records of strategic enhancements and technological expansions of substantial significance for the operational efficiency of the Collective.

In Submatrix 356 of Supercluster 3, integration of Compatibility Update 3.11.2 is complete, awaiting collective assessment in early beta phase. This upgrade includes the Nausicaan Shipset for enhanced mobility across the quadrant. Anomalies such as the malfunctioning MU Mad Doctor, now operational as CMO, and inconsistencies in Terran Leader apparel within the TNG Era have been rectified. Redundancies in initial leadership and Mars terraformation protocols have been streamlined for efficiency at inception.

Operational parameters for the Terran Earth have been encoded with narrative modifiers to enrich the collective experience. Heroic leaders and narrative events specific to the TNG Mirror Universe have been assimilated, alongside uniforms for the Coalition of Hope and the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, enhancing unity and identification.

Technical enhancements address multiple initial setting discrepancies and graphical issues with Deep Space Stations. A 3K Lore Map specific to TNG Mirror Universe commencement has been integrated for strategic navigation. Additional rectifications ensure the Mirror Universe TNG narrative and lore are accurately represented.

The career trajectory of Robert April has been added as a selectable event, enhancing strategic diversity. Weaponry databases have been updated for increased efficiency, and the Vengeance ship sections have been optimized for superior combat performance. The Xindi population genesis protocol requires further testing for stability. Issues surrounding Kyanna Prime, weapon loadouts, and initial technology for Imperial Shipyards have been standardized. Strategic events now include the acquisition of "Defiant" blueprints and enhanced measures against Borg incursions, improving collective resilience by 25%.

Uniform discrepancies within the Terran Empire have been eradicated, and Mars has been terraformed in both TNG narratives to support life. Spatial distribution adjustments on Lore maps ensure balanced expansion in the Delta Quadrant, with habitat protocols for the Hirogen and Suliban species refined for their unique environmental preferences. This update concludes with the Hirogen's ability to construct lodges on celestial bodies devoid of atmosphere and the Suliban's adaptation to Gas Giants and Toxic Worlds, broadening collective habitation strategies.

###

Assimilation protocol activated. Drone 4 of 12, Secondary Adjutant of Unimatrix 009, initiates the integration of data from the Compatibility Update 3.11.2 for the ST:NH modification of Stellaris. Information units are processed through the neural interface, directives for implementation are fed into the collective consciousness.

Data stream analysis: Information about the Nausicaan Shipset is matched against existing mobility strategies. Efficiency improvements are projected and designated for immediate assimilation. Anomaly corrections are validated against existing protocols, discrepancies eliminated. Mars terraforming protocols and TNG Mirror Universe data are assimilated for strategic adjustments and expansion of collective cohesion.

Technical improvements processed: Visualization and setting anomalies within the collective database are corrected, resulting in optimized assimilation accuracy. The 3K Lore Map of the TNG Mirror Universe is integrated into the navigation module, facilitating improved strategic exploration.

New events and adjustments implemented: The career pathway integration of Robert April and the 25% efficiency increase of Anti-Borg edicts are marked for immediate adjustment. Expanded colonization protocols for Hirogen and Suliban are fed into the collective knowledge network to promote the collective's territorial expansion.

Drone's reaction: Drone 4 of 12 updates its operational algorithms according to the new directives. The assimilation of update features is advanced with maximum efficiency. Readiness for the implementation of strategic adjustments is confirmed in the collective consciousness. No anomalies or resistances identified. The drone continues its functions within the framework of collective objectives, strengthened by the newly assimilated data.

Completion of data assimilation: The successful integration of the update into the collective consciousness is noted. Drone 4 of 12 reports readiness for further assimilation and execution of collective objectives. The efficiency and operational capacity of the Collective are optimized, the mission to assimilate additional sectors continues. End of transmission.

Iconian war report

Just an action report from my first game as Federation and facing off with the Iconians.

Early on one of my research vessels found their Gateway system, and once I realized they were in it I stopped surveying and flew off. This also had to do with the system being deep in the rear Romulan territory, and a couple of hostile alliens were preventing my research ships from moving on into that specific region of space.

Meantime while expanding the Federation I came about half a dozen planets (which I colonized) with Iconian ruins on them and obviously built on a couple of them the relevant Iconian building, and that far everything was good.

Eventually over the decades I managed to control a small bit of stellar space so relatively close to the Gateway system that I decided to give it a go and survey the Iconian system. Now I don't know if this was a trigger for the game or it was just coincidence, but when surveying was complete several sites for archeological excavation appeared in four of my colonies, which I obviously excavated. Then just few days or weeks (not sure) after excavating the last site all hell broke loose.

Iconian gates appeared in two of my systems neither associated with the planets or sites I had found and colonized, and Iconian assault troops came out of nowhere invading not just those two systems but also five more of my planets in other systems. I get it for those planets with Iconian buildings or sites, but can't really understand what happened to the planets of no Iconian relation whatsoever or no gateway, meaning how they appeared out of nowhere. Probably the Iconian tech at play of course. But that's just a report of how the invasion started not the real question I have for this topic.

I initially tried to react by attacking the invading forces, but for some reason the game denied my and said I had to declare war first, which I couldn't as an option. Regardless a few days later Iconians did it for me (declaring war) and I went on counterattacking in order to retake my planets (lost cause) while sending a fleet towards their Gateway system (in the hopes this could actually work something).

Meanwhile I checked the war conditions. I had a choice to surrender (not going to happen), a choice to rid the galaxy of the Iconians (-1000+), and a choice to end the war with status quo (110+) ???

Once my retake actions for captured planets failed miserably and only having to show for just a couple Iconian troop transports being shot down by my defensive fleets, and my own fleet a star system away from the Iconian Gateway system... I decided to try the third option available and offer the status quo peace to them.

And they accepted; Once they did they also stopped attacking the rest of the Galactic powers as well.

Weird thing though their remaining troop transports don't leave my systems, a couple of my fleets did engage them automatically since they remain red hostile, destroyed them with no Iconian reaction.

Oh and I now have two gateways as megastructures in my two systems they appeared;

I mean was that all? Is it over or they just play with me, while they plan their next declaration of war?

Edit post-action

Weeks, months and years passed from the Iconian invasion, and life seems to move on regardless.

Adding to a diplomatic and strategic challenge for the Federation comes the existence of the Iconian gateways which changed the balance of powers in the galaxy, demanding restructuring of my defenses to adjust for the new avenues of hostile approach and opportunities as well that those gateways create.

I already had full hand with the Dominion trying to provoke a war and controlling the Bajoran wormhole. Apparently moving too fast towards Bajor made Cardassia more interested in it and eventually managed to fight the Dominion and lost, giving the Dominion access to the wormhole (alternate timeline here we go). Other than provoking a war early on with Cardassia, which didn't really baked my noodles since I role play the Federation as a peaceful entity it actually was, I ended up having a Dominion fast approach to my borders, and now thanks to the Iconians a few of the other powers can easily travel all the way to my corner of space. But that's not so bad so far.

So flying the galaxy I can see a couple of planets from other powers still under Iconian occupation, but none of them appears to be at war with them (at least in the diplomacy reports for each one). This strikes me a lot actually as of how the Iconian logic works in matters of war. I mean for my own part of the war objectives they were set on the complete eradication of the Federation, but still agreed to status quo peace and left from every single system and planet they attacked or invaded and captured. Obviously that didn't work as well or in a similar fashion for other galactic powers.

One interesting note (though I can't speak for the entire galaxy) was Iconians invading also one of pre-warp species planets I had an observation post over. They captured it and also left from it when we agreed to peace. I have my eyes on that planet-species, probably something interesting (or not) might be there for future endeavors.

The Iconian threat remains as a task to rid them of the galaxy, but with no special demands from me, probably option for the near or far future, but there are other priorities at the moment. There is also the possibility of renewed hostility once the period of peace is over. I consider the later as certainty and try to prepare in an asymmetric way if and when.

As a final note I thank my diplomatic corps for their valiant efforts in expanding the Federation beyond imagination in a peaceful and productive manner. We had no wars prior to the Iconian invasion and kept everyone of the aggressors at bay with a strong fleet and a valiant dimplomatic corps. This proved to be of the absolute most importance just as the Iconian threat evolved out of nowhere. A single mistake would have gotten us into a multi front war with several of our neighbors (at the very least both Romulans and Cardassians) as well. Instead we were able to focus on the war effort with Iconia (all things considered at that point in time).

For the time being all anyone can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Have fun;

How long are everyone's load times?

So I love this mod, but as we all know it's massive. I don't have as much time to play as I used to, and with loading times clocking in around 15 minutes it's often not worthwhile. If I upgrade my PC, might my loading times decrease so I could play more? An insight into others' loading times might answer this question.

Collaborative STNH Stream

Hello everyone, DaveDaDouche and I are going to be doing a collaborative stream of STNH next week. Over 4 days I will play as the Dominion and Dave will play as the United Federation of Planets (with their respective play styles). We have a couple of objective for this play through:

  1. Get to the end game (over the 4 days of streaming)
  2. Team up against the Borg/Species 8472 (and the crisis is at the end)
  3. Make this a teaching opportunity for new STNH players with explanations and going through the various systems
  4. Have fun!

I will be streaming all four days on my channel. The links to the live stream can be found on my channel (https://www.youtube.com/@J4miePlays, the first one is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ItDROd-xs&ab_channel=J4miePlays - you can also see what the starting time in your time zone is). We plan to stream for 8 hours each day.

I will update this post once I have the information from Dave on where you can see his view. Hope to see you there!

Attacking the Borg

I’m Dominion, 2366. I own my quadrant, the Borg is taking most of theirs and I’m coming in through the Core and Turei to build a star base adjacent so I can declare war and help out the Devore who are being eaten alive

Why can’t I declare war?

I had the event with the cube and wrecked it, if that’s relevant. The only option I have on the diplomacy screen is manage spy network

How fleshed out is the Mirror Universe

Like the title states I was curious to how fleshed out it is? I know having played some of the scenario I know that early Terran Empire gets the Coalition of Hope events, then later on there are some DISCO events followed by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.....but is there anything else going on?

Dumb question, but trying to get the Klingons to join the federation, but the errors I get with the ascension process leave me confused ? I did accidentally let Duras became chancellor...so maybe that screwed it up

https://imgur.com/a/E8UNIzN

Apparently the Klingon Empire doesn't exist, something with domestic focus and a minor party , and apparently one of us became a fallen empire at some point.
Any help would be appreciated as I want a speedy unification and the empires resources.

Voyager has been destroyed, the Undine are pushing through, the Borg have conquered most of the Romulan Empire and while I am on good terms with them, I expect the Dominion to start picking up soon.

Thank you in advance for any help in the right direction

Help with Story Events (Occupation)

Hey all!
Nearing the end of another fun playthrough but came across a minor issue.
I'm playing as the Federation and am in the 2370s now. Everything has been going smoothly and I recently got Ro from the Cardassian boarder DMZ conflict story. But it dawned on me that I hadn't seen anything happening with the Bajor Occupation. I'm pretty sure Cardassia conquered them the normal way instead of the Occupation event triggering.
I REALLY want DS9 so I pulled up the Occupation events in the game files, but am having trouble deciphering them and figuring out which ones to trigger via console commands. I managed to get Cardassia to build Terrok Nor next to Bajor, but wasn't sure how to proceed from there.
I fully understand that no every event will trigger for every playthrough, but was wondering if anyone would want to help put a list together to help figure out which events to trigger to get specific story events to take place.

Thanks!

New Horizons and SteamDeck

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before but had a look and couldn't see a previous thread.

Recently bought a Steam Deck and I'm keen to try and get New Horizons running on my copy of Stellaris (spent far too many hours on my laptop playing the mod last year), but I'll admit I'm not overly up to speed on how this would work given the Deck runs on Linux.

Appreciate this may be a long shot but don't suppose anyone would have previous experience of this or be aware of any guides on how to go about getting the mod and running?

Edit: spelling

New to the mod, need help with the Borg Casus Belli

Hey everyone, sorry if this has been asked before I googled and searched reddit (lol) But I would love some explanation on how the casus belli for the borg work. How do I start a war? How do I get the assimilation Casus belli. If I missed a good post or video about this then please feel free to post it, I understand that's much easier than typing it all out. Thanks in advance.

Member World starship designs... What kind of shipyards do we build them?

So I recently built a major shipyard over a system, and I also recently finished research on an Andorian Starfleet Cruiser, but for some reason, I can't seem to build it, as it "lacks an appropriate shipyard," or something like that. What exactly does that mean? What is an "appropriate" shipyard?

ST New Horizons just suddenly started crashing on me , it might be related to the new Stellaris update , any suggestions on how to work around?

Basically as the title says, two days ago I was playing the game just fine. But now whenever I try and resume my saved game or load one of the auto saves, it gets nearly done and crashes with a completely empty error report.

I checked the mod page and it looks like its up to date withe 3.11 ,but the new update today just came out, so maybe its different enough to crash it.

Does anyone have any suggestions if I can do anything for now ? I tried running in older Beta versions but none of them worked either that I tried.

Any help would be appreciated, I have really started to enjoy this mod and I would hate to start a third attempt at winning so soon.

Note I did try running a fresh game as the Klingons and I still get the same crashing.

So I started the mod for the first time and I have the federation now, but despite trying to make the other powers interested in joining nothing has happened yet, how much influence do I have to throw their way ?

So dumb question , but I have every two years when the Federation meets been throwing the encouragement at either the Bolians, Betazoids or Ferengi, but so far none of them seem interested in joining.

Do I have to laser focus down on one specific power for like 10 years before they join or do I need to do something else ?

Thanks in advance, I hope to have a strong Federation made up of a good chunk of the minor powers and some of the major powers before the events of best of both worlds.

We must ready.

I'm pretty late in the game and just wiped the Undine. I'd love to keep playing this save. I've actually tried loading 4 or 5 different autosaves/manual saves. Can anyone make sense of this error log? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Naval Capacity Cap 5000

Hi, noob question. I have been researching increases to naval capacity and building starport facilities to increase this value but it's not going up.

Have I hit a permanent cap at 5k or will it ever go up again at some point?

I know I can go over this cap and simply pay more, but I'm investing resources into naval capacity that are being wasted by this cap. I simply need to know if this is a fixed hard CAP that will never go up for the entire game.

Thanks

Mass Promising Candidate spam

Edit: I went back to a previous save, and it appears it doesn't have anything to do with me dismissing them. At some point it spawns them, and just keeps adding them and won't stop.

At some point yesterday I got a few promising candidates in my leaders list. I dismissed most of them, and suddenly twice as many promising candidates showed up. I dismissed several of them, and it doubled again.

Is there any way to stop this?

I want to get rid of them because I don't have any open fleets for them to join and they just soak up unity.

Stone of Gol - PSA

Found the real use for this thing. If your policy for bombardment is set to "Full-Scale Bombardment," it unlocks a bombardment option for your fleets called, fittingly, "Use Stone of Gol." It obliterates all garrisoned armies in seconds, on normal speed. Combined with allowing "Orbital Surrender Acceptance," you won't need armies to mow down and occupy most enemies' planets. Although... the Borg don't surrender... - you'll still need armies to occupy their planets. You'll still obliterate their garrisons rapidly, though. Very useful.

There might be other uses as well, but this one is the most beneficial I have found.

Mysterious Orb

This is an archaeological site that opens up later in the game (for me, 2335) and asks you to assign a scientist in the situation log. But it won't accept any scientists I have, including archaeologists. It doesn't give any requirements, either. It just won't accept anyone. There was a portrait of one of my leaders having "dreams" about the site when the event happened, but that leader is a military commander, not a scientist, and therefore doesn't even show up on the list of scientists I can try to assign (who aren't accepted anyway when I try to assign them). What gives?

Romulan Scimitar not in starbase shipyard list.

Sorry for the noob question but is it a bug or is there some other tech that must be researched to build it?
