Be aware, my elderly mother in law was getting in her vehicle and a white man with blue eyes who was wearing a mask held her door open and demanded her money. She was able to break free and close the door however could have ended another way. Upon talking about it with friends/relatives someone said that the same thing happened to them.

Just an FYI to lovers of cult cinema - diector, author and raconteur John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Polyester, Hairspray, etc) is coming to Las Cruces for his first ever area show! Tickets are now on sale for his Friday April 18, 2025 appearance at rhe Rio Grande Theatre in downtown LC, a very nice (& small!) venue.
The show is presented via Hardin's Music Saloon, which puts on all sorts of events in EP & LC throughout the year. More info here: https://www.ephardins.org/about-1-1
A silly question, but it drives me slightly crazy every time I see it.
On N. Main, between Taco Bell and Dunkin. Obviously the building used to be a restaurant and that’s why the drive thru is there in the first place. But what do they use it for??
Evening Las Cruces Folks.
I am the person behind Scalphunter, link in my bio.
I have an idea that I would like to play the next stuff I have written live, if conditions permit(i.e. the lineup is worth putting the effort to translate my ideas to the live setting). With that said, I would like to potentially collaborate with some folks moving forward.
To be brief, Scalphunter is Black Metal. Without divulging too much about what I am looking to accomplish, Wolves In The Throne Room's first three albums, Cosmic Church, Paysage D'Hiver, etc. are good touchstones of interest. You can of course also listen to what I have released at this point. My newer material has a couple of key changes, but very generally, you can get the idea of what I'm doing.
What do I expect? Well not much. I'd love to meet a drummer who can reasonably play some of what I am interested in, that would be the primary collaboration, but I am open to folks who have an interest in the kind of music I am describing.
Is this of interest? A Direct Message here is the easiest way to get my attention.
She said 911 wouldn't answer the phone when she and bystanders called. She believes the driver was elderly and foot slipped. No apparent injuries.
Does anyone know what movie was being shot last night? They blocked off streets and I heard it was a car chase with explosions!
Can anyone who has lived in both cities compare the winters? I’m in ABQ right now and I almost love the climate but the winters are a bit too cold for me. Las Cruces seems to be a good in between Tucson and ABQ city regarding winter temps but I’m wondering if Tucson winters are significantly warmer or if I would get what I’m looking for in Cruces. And yes of course I can look up the weather data but would like to hear from anyone who has lived in either (or all three!) cities if possible to get an idea of which would be the best or good enough for someone who isn’t a huge cold weather fan.
Thanks!!
With the current federal administration's plans for tariffs on Mexican imports, what can we expect in terms of price increases and availability.
I'm a big fan of Fiesta/Lowes and buy almost all my vegetables, fruits and an increasing number of household imports from there. As I was strolling around the store, I realized that there are other imported items I buy there like laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies. Are you sticking up now on foods that can be stored or buying products now so you won't have to pay the additional 15%?
Hello. I'm looking for a dog groomer. Please feel free to DM me. Thank you.

Hi! I've been a member of groups for young people/young professionals in other cities that I've lived in. I've noticed in the last 1.5 years I've been in Las Cruces that it's a really hard place to make friends or find a friend group. I decided to make a group on Facebook myself. If you're looking to make new friends or add new friends to your existing friend group, please join and start connecting with others! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1760466054798081/
I live overseas but have aging parents living in the Las Cruces area (and I grew up there). My mother in particular has been experiencing quickly-increasing cognitive decline, and my father has been extremely unhelpful in finding resources that can help them.
My sister and I are the only children and we can't cover the full cost of in-home or full-time care. I have tried to get my dad to get a referral to a social worker or something from mom's GP, etc. but I can't force him and I'm not there, and travelling over would cost heaps and reduce the amount I'm able to financially contribute in future.
Can anyone point me to a website, phone number, department, or anyone who might be able to talk through things with me and help me understand the options for low-income aging adults? ETA I am happy to pay for a consultation
Well first off, I am from Chicago and recently moved down here. I just sold my car and got a new car, so now I’m looking into getting my windows tinted!
In Chicago, the cops were a bit strict with having 15% or lower on your windows. I think actually Illinois limit is 35%, correct me if I’m wrong.
My question to you all, how strict are cops are here in New Mexico? Specifically LC, Vado, Anthony and EVEN EP if anyone knows (I know EP isn’t NM but I’m frequently over there aswell.)
I want to tint 5% on the new car but since im not from here, I have yet to experience the cops strictness.
For those wondering, it would be a fully blacked out 2008 BMW 328i!
I have noticed a bit that cops here don’t really give a shit about you unless you’re doing something crazy. Last time I missed a stop sign in front of a cop and they didn’t do anything. Not even a high beam warning.
TLDR: How strict are cops with 5% window tints?

Was anyone coming from El Paso to Las Cruces around 6:30 PM this evening (Thursday 23 Jan) and happened to notice the brightest star in the sky, approximately eight miles east of LC?
I initially thought it was a planet, it was so bright, but it also seemed to move a little, however I was driving, so it was hard to tell. Right as I drove beneath it, I noticed small red flashing lights on the part that was facing west. It was very large and I am now suspecting it was a drone.
Why would a drone be hovering over I10 & who would be operating it?
I'm back!
I'll bring some board games over to grounded tomorrow Friday if anyone ones to come by. If anyone ones to play, don't be shy. I'll bring over splendor, concordia, and catan. I plan to be there starting 5pm and to closing time. I'll set the game boxes on the table, so you can just walk up. feel free to bring another board game if you prefer. If I look busy, I am not
