I'm looking for a quiet laptop that is still good for productivity. I'll be using it for work/study and leisure but I don't play games. I've been recommended an Asus TUF F15 Gaming Laptop that's on sale at a decent price. I was told that gaming laptops have more spacious vents and will therefore be more effective at removing heat, causing the fans to not need to work as hard and so it'll be more quiet which makes sense but I'm looking to hear from more people. This laptop also has a dedicated graphics card, would that influence how noisy the laptop is at all?
Thanks for any advice

I recently reinstalled windows using a USB stick, now the backlight of my laptop does not turn on anymore. I have MSI creator center installed and can lower the brightness and lower the volume using the FN and key combo but this does not work for the keyboard light. I have already updated the bios and the EC. Also done a EC reset. This unfortunetly does not have any effect. Does anyone know how to fix this?
As u can see my ( taskbar portion) is blinking , what should I do ? TIA!!
Best deal for running divinchi resolve and possible gaming if doesnt cost much more? Another one for only streaming and browsing at same time, decent build quality? Here is a list on slick deals https://slickdeals.net/laptop-deals/ would buying used be better?
I'm having a hard time deciding between these 2. I'm a software developer/student and I've narrowed my options down to these. I would either get the PX13 (4050) or the Zenbook duo (Highest end one). Both are around the same price but with discounts the px13 is cheaper right now by about 15%, but let's just say that price difference doesn't matter much here.
The main reason I'm stumbling between the 2 is because of the CPU, I compile a LOT of code (Linux Dev) so a CPU that is anywhere from 20%-25% faster would be really helpful, I have a 10900k system at home that I can ssh into and use, but having the CPU horsepower would definitely be useful. I also play games sometimes (lighter titles mainly Minecraft & Rocket League, sometimes older AAA titles like Shadow of the Tomb Raider), so the 4050 might be useful but I'm afraid as to what that could do to battery life, especially since I would primarily be running Linux.
Can anyone with the Zenbook Duo (especially students) chime in on how useful it is in a professional environment, like do you use the dual screens a lot and if so how? Also is the battery life good? Is the gimmick worth it or should I go with the faster CPU and GPU?
For the PX13 the main thing that I'm concerned about is the battery life and fan noise, so if anyone could comment as to if those have gotten better in the past few months with BIOS updates (most people were saying 4-8hrs with light use which is a bit low) that would be great!
Really just looking for others opinions on this one.
I don’t game or even spend much time on the computer. Once in a while I’ll do something in Corel draw at home for personal projects. Was looking for the best bang for your buck under $600 -$700.
I recently got my Apple laptop repaired from a crack caused by a cat bite, does anyone have screen protector recommendations for preventing this? I had a basic no smudge no glare protector on it before and she chewed right through it. Unfortunately keeping the cat out of the room or off my desk is not an option.
For reference it is a 13in Macbook Air
I Plan On Replacing My PC For A Laptop So I Can Take It On The Go And Work On The Go
Needs To Be Able To Run:
- Unity or Unreal
- Blender
- OBS
- Davinci Resolve
And For Gaming I Play:
- Minecraft(With Mods)
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Persona 3 Reload
Anyone Have Any Recommendations (Can Be Current Laptop That Are Out or New Rumored Ones Coming Out Soon)
Hey everyone, I need to replace my old laptop and could use some recommendations. I study computer science and data science, so it needs to handle those tasks well, and I also do a lot of design work (Photoshop, After Effects etc) in my free time. I'm also wanting to get into app/web development and try Blender as well.
Ideally I want something portable enough to bring to university daily and I was also considering a touchscreen laptop for tasks like math and art, but I'm not sure if that's asking too much.
Any suggestions for laptops that can handle all of this?
Hello, can anyone help me with removing this sticker without scratching the screen? Thanks!

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
This actually happened a couple months ago. I put my laptop in sleep mode while going out, and when I got back and turned it on there was this white border around the screen.
I called the Asus helpline and they told me to try restarting it, updating display drivers, and a process that was meant to purge the device of any static electricity.
None of it worked, but the border gradually faded over the course of a few hours. Since then, I've never used the sleep mode and this issue has never happened again.
Does anyone know what a possible reason for it could be? And should I get it checked anyway?
It's still under 1-year warranty so I can get a free servicing, but I don't have a way to backup my data before sending it to them.
If there is a better sub could you please redirect me? But as the title says, can this damage be repaired? It was on rest mode overnight so, it still had some stuff running I suppose, and water got into it, next thing I know it doesn’t turn on. Then I see this
Can anyone help me identify the made and model of this laptop?
