Woman of the Hour

The new film by Anna Kendrick closes with a chilling note that made me think of this case. It documents a serial killer and repeat rapist that ended up on a dating show. Before the closing credits it notes he was eventually convicted of 7 murders but they estimate the real number to be over 100.

Someone in a thread here asked if Rex could have one of the highest body counts and reading this at the end of the movie made me consider just how many of these killers actually have a much higher number of victims and that this disturbing number may be more of the norm.

How the United States Government covered up a snuff film ring in the 1970s

Directly irrelevant to the case but interesting nonetheless. Some insight on how deep the rabbit hole can go. I will say this content is not for the faint of heart please be advised.

Possible connections/more charges

Will/is RH a suspect in other victims like Valarie Mack, Peaches and baby, Asian doe and Karen Vergata? What about other people like Jackie Smith, Andre Isaac, Tanya Rush, Cherries,Tina Foglia, Sandra Acosta, Becky Detres, and much more? Will Rex be potentially charged with these crimes eventually or after the trial of these six victims?

Are there any mentions of RH being abusive towards his own daughter or wife?

I am genuinely confused and concerned. I am new to this case and I really want to know if there is any info on RH being abusive as a family man? I have not heard or read about any such instances so far but considering how brutally he killed those women after such meticulous planning, how could he have not shown at least a small part of his cruelty towards the women at his home? He may have had at least some slip ups? Or was he too good at leading a double life? What are your thoughts?

So could RH become one of the worst serial killers in history?

I read about RH torturing his victims. He will definitely be compared to torturers like David Parker Ray. What do you guys think?

Hurricanes

Thinking about how devastating these weather patterns can be just because of the obvious right now… and thinking about how Sandy probably had such an impact on RH’s little graveyard. If only the fucker got busted before nature cleaned up so much of his messes. There are so many missing pieces that probably washed away with the storm

Big & Tall Stores, LI NYC

Considering his stature and the fact that he wore suits to his Manhattan office job, I think it’s likely that he would have had to have ventured to one of those “Big & Tall” type men’s suit stores to find what he needed. A lot of time there are young, attractive women working at those stores for some level of commission so their subservient role can sometimes make them prone to creepy encounters/aggressive flirting etc on occasion. RH seems like a man who likes to throw around his weight in real or perceived positions of power so I could easily see him being a problem customer/giving a salesperson the creeps at one of those places. He liked the idea (at least with SW’s) of baiting them with the idea that he wanted to be their “Sugar Daddy” and that he was just really into the “girlfriend experience” and that they could trust him as some big, harmless, doofy, lonely guy who they could trust, and then he’d turn on them. It makes me wonder if any salespeople at these stores have had a creepy experience with him.

Childhood crimes

Usually, serial killers start killing or abusing in their childhood, so Im assuming his family, friends and neighbors, and even graduating class are being questioned. Were there any unsolved crimes in his neighborhood during his teen years? Unsolved rapes?

What does the HK stand for in his planning document?

My understanding is that it was a living document that I'm guessing he spent a lot of time thinking about topics to add to it, etc. This was where he brainstormed. It was part of his fantasy building. So what does the abbreviation HK stand for?

Valerie Mack

I remember seeing that when Rex was charged with Jessica and Sandra, he was being investigated for Valerie Mack.

Has there been any more information on the investigation into that or do you think they’ll release all the information together?

Even if Valerie or any of the other victims aren’t by Rex I do hope they will find justice for the others.

How the discovery of DNA evidence in an unrelated case fosters hope for same in this matter

(Note: LISK & the Morgan Nick case are NOT related.)

The 1995 disappearance of Morgan Nick is one of the most well known missing persons cases in American history, and police announced today that Morgan’s DNA was recently found in the truck that belonged to the prime suspect in 1995 despite it having multiple different owners between then and 2024.

So what does this mean to the LISK case?

Remember when the second Chevy Avalanche linked to RH was impounded in South Carolina and returned to New York in July 2023? Let’s hope it, too, despite switching hands and locations several years ago, yields a treasure trove of evidence like the truck in the Nick case. 🙌🙌🙌

The Real Killer

Does everybody here believe Heuermann was the Route 29 Stalker, or could it have been Richard Marc Evonitz???? I’m leaning more towards Heuermann, but can’t completely count out Evonitz either.

Asian Doe’s Clothing

Remember Daffy’s? It’s possible the brands found with Asian Doe were sold there.

If AD was, in fact, killed 5 to 10 years prior to the discovery of their remains, then this was when Daffy’s had stores in Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Jersey and Manhattan, including locations in lower Manhattan and near Times Square, Grand Central, and Herald Square with this site conveniently situated between Penn Station & Rex Heuermann’s office. (Note: The Herald Square location opened in 1994 and closed in 2012.)

If AD is from the huge (and close knit) Flushing, Queens Chinatown community, and/or worked along Roosevelt Avenue, which for decades has been rife with brothels, massage parlors, outcall agencies and street services (most of which offered the anonymity LISK preferred), then they could’ve taken a quick subway ride to the nearest Daffy’s to piece together an affordable & fashionable outfit.

New here, any connection with Heuermann and previous suspects?

I know they looked at a lot of suspects but I also know that there were a lot of bodies. This is a relatively small area with a lot of bad activity over a couple decades. We know there was a lot of suspect behavior from Burke as well as several others. Have the electronic devices of Heuermann been reviewed for connections to the others? I still believe that this was an overall group effort. I do think that they may have killed on their own, highly likely, but they may have had instances where they worked together, “hunting”, and perhaps in disposal. I know that electronic evidence would just be circumstantial if they did find a connection but could that be enough to dig deeper? I’ve always had the feeling that there are several people involved. Also, Shannon Gilbert, listening to her 911 call is just chilling. I am so tired of the various claims that she had a psychotic break. Bipolar isn’t schizophrenic. She had no other instances that she was in a similar condition to the 911 call. She asks, “what did u do to me?” As someone that dabbled with many substances over the years, it is clear that she was drugged. She may have done something voluntarily that was laced or something could have been put in a drink. She felt something wrong and she called for help. It infuriates me that Pack did not also call the police to help in his search. In infuriates me that he just left her. The only reason Brewer tried to get her out was because she called 911. We still don’t know who else was there. The way they investigated her disappearance and death is beyond incompetent. I want to know that they combed thru everything for possible connections to the other suspects.

im fairly new to this case, have listened to a lot of great podcasts about it, but curious of the timeline

i really like police off the cuff podcast, it a great pod hosted by a former NYPD officer who is very factual. but since i have listened to other pods too, my info isnt in order, so i was wondering about the order of women found/ideintified vs where we are at now...basically i need a timeline to keep it all straight...is this correct?

  1. they identified the gilgo four (Barnes, M. Barthelemy, M. Waterman, A. Costello) DEC 2010

  2. they identified/found - J. Taylor, V. Mack, Peaches, Peaches baby, Asian Male, Karen Vergata - MARCH/APRIL 2011

  3. identified - S. Costillo

  4. currently they are still trying to identify peaches and her baby and asian male....are there any other unidentified remains?
