Found this on my car. Should my wife and I be concerned?

Found this (https://www.amazon.com/Bicycle-Valve-Resistant-Motorcycle-Cylindrical/dp/B0C9W6Y55K)on the car overnight screwed into the air valve on a back tire. Didn’t know what it was. Turned out to be an LED and not a tracker. But should we be concerned for our safety or the car?

Need help ID’ing car in hit and run on i5

My friend and her dog were just rear ended traveling on i5 south by the Oregon border.

She thinks it might have been a Subaru but not positive since she was in shock at the time. I know the photo is blurry, but I’ve seen Reddit do amazing things.

Link to photo : https://ibb.co/8xjvRFt

The license plate is circled and the photo was taken from the rear (since front license plate was missing).

I kept seeing lights on my ceiling.

I was lying in bed, trying to sleep. It was almost midnight. I closed my eyes. Couldn't sleep. I opened them again. But when I opened them, I saw lights moving around my ceiling, all shaped like circles. I barely managed to sleep that night. But the next night it happened again. It just kept happening. Until I told my friends about it. I told them about it, and it just stopped happening. I even made a graph to try to figure out what it was but it never happened again. It's been years now, and I still don't know what happened.

I feel like this isn't normal.

I heard an animal

So, I tame animals, and I was sitting on my desk, waiting for a squirrel to come, and I heard really loud sniffing that sounded like a dog. And then I heard a noise that sounded like stomping on wood. Then I heard the sniffing again, with a metal falling metal sound after it. I checked my yard but I couldn't find anything that would make that noise. And the sounds sounded like they were coming from under my deck. But there was nothing there. Does anyone know what animal that was?

I’ve been hearing this beeping in my room and don’t know what it is.

Yesterday, I was sitting in my room, watching old TNA (It’s a wrestling company). And I suddenly started hearing this high pitched beep. It sounds like it’s coming from in the room. I’d hear it like every 15 minutes. Idk what it could be. At some point, I thought it was the smoke detector so I changed its batteries and thought I solved it. I didn’t hear it for the rest of the night but then today, I heard it again about 10 minutes ago. I haven’t heard it since but I have no idea what it could be. It’s driving me crazy😂 It’s the pitch and frequency of a smoke detector but if it’s not that, I don’t know what it could be. It’s only one beep too. It’s not continuous

I found a stream of a camera that’s being used to peep into people’s windows.

I found this stream on Insecam. The camera is being actively monitored and controlled, with someone deliberately finding lit-up windows and zooming in to spy on people inside of a large apartment complex. They are particularly focused on one window that seems to be the bedroom of a younger woman.

I tracked the stream to a latitude and longitude outside Doylestown, Pennsylvania, US, right outside of the airport. But after watching the stream for a bit and seeing it zoom out, I noticed it quickly pan over a newly-opened White Castle next door to a Star Care Pharmacy directly in front of the building that’s being peeped on.

After doing some digging on Google Maps, I discovered that this apartment complex is located in Jamaica, New York, and the person peeping on people is almost certainly located in the apartments across the way, The Camelot on Wexford Terrace.

I was thinking about seeing if I could find a neighborhood group for the apartment complex to let people know, even if that sounds kind of extra. Is there anything else that can be done?

Endless Car Insurance Company Calls

In the last 48 hours I have received 10 insurance company calls to my cell phone. They know my first name and are looking to have me insure a car of a make and model I don’t, nor have I have owned. It’s infuriating because they are spoofing local numbers and I need to pick up this line for work. My desk number reroutes to my cell when I am away from the office.

Any way to fix it? Should I be worried about a scam? They know my name, but I’ve never had the car they are talking about. All different callers all claiming to be from a different big name insurer (All State, State Farm, Progressive, etc.). They have been robo texting me as well, all of which I reply to with “stop.”

A stranger knew my last name on roblox

Although some may not take this seriously. I have a burner account i made last year. Earlier today i approached a guy to make conversation as i felt social. He said to me. "Makes sense, i hate asians" I was an asian, and as a joke i retorted "Your pale lol" cuz his avatar was chalkboard white.

He paused then asked "who are you again?" As a joke i said "Ghostface" he responded with a correction and my last name (its more than ten letters). I left, deactivated my account, reactivated it to report and block the guy who i think it was and deactivated again. Should i be worried? I'm 14 years old and i know nothing about this

Although i did have my email on that account in privacy settings, i dont know how he still saw it. Ive seen people who knows how to get in databases but idkk man

Edit: Cased Closed??? If you have any additional advice/information please comment it as it would be helpful, but as of now im closing this post, thank you guys for the help

Can't figure out this redacted bit in this letter

I'm trying to decipher this redacted bit in this letter I was given. I've been able to make out the majority of it so perhaps the context clues can be of service but I cannot for the life of me identify the remainder.

Strange voicemail, what are they saying?

Hi all, new to the subreddit! It was recommended to me. I got a phonecall last night in which they left a voicemail, and my son tracked it down to another town in my province but we can't figure out what they're saying. The only thing it sounds like to me, is they're saying my name in the beginning "Kayla" and then something else. We're annoyed we can't figure it out. Can any of you? I posted it on my profile for everyone to listen to. It's not a long clip. Is it an adult? Kid? we're stumped! Thanks in advance!

Random purple dance medal

Very odd. This is the second time I have found a purple “HIGH GOLD” lanyard with a “DANCE POWER” medal attached to it. (Like an award medal or participation medal of sorts I’m assuming). I would leave work in the evening or night to find this medal looped around my driver side door handle. I am quite confused as to what this could signify. I have heard of situations where carjackers or such criminals would zip tie strap to your door handle but i have never heard of a medal+lanyard being looped once around the door handle.

creepy package in mail addressed to me

Hi, I'm new to posting on reddit but I need either advice or someone to ease my concern. lol

Basically I moved into a new apartment about two weeks ago and today i received a small package with a return name/address i didn't recognize. It was also from a state i have never been to and do not know anyone there. Thinking I may have ordered something on ebay and forgotten, i opened it. Inside there were five identical post-it notes (i can't add pictures but they're valentines day post-it notes with nothing written on them, they're pink and have hearts printed on them, along with an illustration from lilo and stitch? that was the only contents of the package.)

The weirdest thing is that it was addressed to ME, spelled right and everything. Whoever sent this even knew my specific apartment number, which is weird because i have only been living here two weeks. If it weren't for these aspects, I would probably write it off as a mistake.

I am woman in my early 20s, and I live alone, so I'm definitely ERRING on the side of caution. Is there any way I can figure out who sent this?

I've looked up the address it was supposedly sent from and can't find anything relevant.

I've dealt with weird men online who have been creepy to me, hence why I'm being abundantly cautious, but I can't think of any specific person or instance I've had with anyone that would put this package into context.

I don't think this is a brushing scam? But i could be wrong?

any help or insight would be awesome... thanks

Mysterious light in woods at night

I often wake several times at night, and toss & turn a while before falling back to sleep.

The other night, I was doing the old toss & turn about midnight when I turned to my left and saw a freaking crazy line of alternating pink and green light moving slowly down my wall. It disappeared about 3 seconds after I saw it. It was about 3 feet wide and eh maybe a half inch thick. I figure it came in through my back window.

A drawing of what it looked like is up on imgur at https://imgur.com/gallery/O9OQEVO

A few seconds after I saw it my dog went nuts. (That might not mean anything, she goes off for any wandering raccoon or deer.) Not sure if she even saw it, it was on my left and she was on my right.

So my question is, what the heck shoots out a line of alternating colors of light? Were there hunters wandering in my woods with some hunting light gizmo? Was it a drone? A plane full of weirdos with lasers? Google or robbers trying to scan my many valuable possessions (hah)?

Please help me transcribe this barely audible video!

I am away on vacation and I heard an unfamiliar voices in my camera - but I can’t see the doorway. They just went in and out.

I don’t know if I heard hey guys or hey cats, and I can’t hear the other line.

Momento Mori written on mirror

This morning my wife got out of the shower and noticed writing on the upper left corner of the steamed over mirror that said “momento mori”.

I googled and it means “remember you must die” and Momento mori mirrors are a thing. This is just a normal big rectangular bathroom mirror though. We have lived in this apartment for 5 months and never noticed this. The mirror has been cleaned weekly with cleaner. We have a doorbell camera and no one has entered while we weren’t here.

I posted a link to the picture of the writing in the comments. Any ideas?

Edit: the writing could have said Memento instead of Momento. By the time I took the pic the letters started to run.

Who is contacting me about my dead friend ?? Advice needed

Recently, I’ve been receiving texts from a single international phone number. At first, I ignored it, thinking it was spam, but the messages keep mentioning my friend, who passed away several years ago. The texts are strange—asking things like, “Is this [friend’s name]?” or referencing places and memories only close friends would know.

For context, I’ve had this phone number for years, and I’ve never shared it with anyone internationally. My friend also had no ties to the country this number seems to be coming from. When I finally asked the sender who they were, they responded with something cryptic: “You already know.”

Out of curiosity, I looked up my phone number online, and weirdly enough, it seems to be linked to my friend’s name on an old, unverified website. I can’t figure out how or why. I even tried tracking the number through online tools, but I’ve had no luck—the results lead nowhere.

This is starting to feel unsettling. Why would an international number contact me about my dead friend? Is it a scam, some kind of mistake, or something more? Any advice would be appreciated—I don’t know what to think.

Who is sending my son magazines?

My son, “John”, is 12 years old. Today he received 3 magazines addressed to ”Johnny”: Esquire, Elle and Wine Spectator.

He’s never purchased anything online nor knows how to. He’s got the ‘tism, so developmentally he’s around 8 or 9. The extent of his internet usage is YouTube and Google classroom.

How can I find out what service these magazines are coming from? Why would they send this stuff for free? They’re for adults too, if they were geared for middle schoolers I’d understand but I’m so lost. Help!

Who is Roger?!

I have had the same phone number for over two decades- I got my first cell phone in 2003 from Cingular Wireless and have held onto that same number ever since.

A few years ago I started getting text messages addressed to “Roger”. Always asking me about a property I had for sale, always in Wisconsin. My area code is Wisconsin but I haven’t lived there for over 10 years. I’ve also never owned property and don’t know anyone named Roger- like in my entire lifetime I can’t think of a single person I’ve ever met named Roger. I’m also not a male.

Not too long ago I plugged my cell phone number into Google and the first result (plus a few others) is for Roger! And it does list at least one of the properties I’ve gotten texts about, under his name. He’s a 63 year old man (older than my parents) who from what I can tell is also married (I’ve never been married).

Sometimes I’ll ask these numbers how they got my info and I did actually get a response once, apparently it was from a leads list.

I’m genuinely curious at this point how he seems to be connected to my phone number. Which again, I’ve had since 2003. Does anyone have any ideas? I get calls sometimes too for people asking for Roger in relation to a property. Any info is accepted with gratitude!

Odd ring camera audio...

My parents sent me this recording from yesterday. This is at their house from when They were out of town. Now they have cameras all over the property, including inside and out. No cameras picked up footage of anyone on property just neighbors cars driving... Now my folks intentionally put cameras by every entrance and in every main room. There's a camera in our laundry room that leads to the loft (where this happened) it would've picked up anybody coming in or out of that area.

Ring notified them that there was motion detected in their loft bedroom (no inside camera in that room). The camera on the loft balcony picked up this audio. To me it sounds like someone saying "I think they're watching us" but I can't make out what was said after.

I'm trying to think of possible explanations to what could've caused this. Maybe it was my parents talking when they checked the camera and it played through the camera microphone? To me the first part sounds way too clear to be an accident.

They're having a neighbor come and look through the house, and I'll give any updates if need be. What do you guys think was said, or any possible explanations?! Ghosts? Wall people? Burglars? Audio interferences?

Posting the video on my page since I can't add to this thread! Kinda new here so I apologize for any inconvenience 💕💕

Photos I never took appearing on google photos

So this one has stumped everyone I know. I got a memory on google photos of this cat that I don’t recognise, that was taken in NSW, Australia in December of 2022. However I took other photos that day at my house hundreds of kilometres away that I do remember taking.

I have found one other unknown cat photo taken in the same place in August of 2022. Looking at the meta data the August photo was taken on an iPhone 11 (which I have never owned) and the December one taken on an iPhone 14 (which I have also never owned).

Any ideas of how these photos may have gotten onto my google photos. My google security is up to date and I am looking for any other unknown photos.

https://imgur.com/a/IMRtLWi for the photos and the related metadata. Please help I have asked everyone I know about these cats and reverse google image searched to no avail. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: This appears to be solved by u/ImWithTheGnomes the weird photos appear to be from downloading a picture off the internet at a similar time. It appears to have downloaded a whole folder without my knowledge that may have contained said photos (however I have deleted many photos off my computer since then). This file also contained my profile picture from google at the time. This folder must have synced with my google photos at some point giving me the unknown cat photos and very possibly other photos I’m not aware of. Please read u/ImWithTheGnomes comments for more info, but it seems this is as solved as it’s going to get.

What causes the beep at night?

Nearly every night for almost 2 weeks I've heard this random beep somewhere. The first time I heard it twice, but not in a row, seperately, probably around 15-30min apart, but I've only heard it one time a night since. It's not the smoke alarm, and we do have a carbon monoxide detector, which is what I'm suspecting, however, I can't find any info on it beeping just one time, nor does it give any indication of anything when I inspect it.

Who Would Use An Email They Can't Access? Email mystery help needed.

Before I begin, it's possible that this issue may boil down to "yes, some people are that dumb/weird."

I have several rarely used Gmail addresses. Before Chrome allowed you to switch easily between inboxes, I set up these addresses to forward to my main Gmail so I could see if anything came in/respond without having to log in/out.

About a month ago, one of these near-defunct addresses forwarded me a notification about signing up for an apartment rental site. The emails all referenced a name that has no connection with me (i.e. "Brittany! Thanks for signing up to our site!" and I don't know or have any family named Brittany). I eventually received about 10 emails all related to apartment rentals in a state to which I have no connection.

One email contained a copy of a completed application submitted through one of these sites. The name on the app matched the name in the subject line. There was a phone number for the person, so I texted it. The information on the application was consistent with the type of notifications I received (apartments in the same city/state, a request for low-cost housing).

I texted the number and said, hey, "Brittany" at this number is using an email address that doesn't belong to them to sign up for apartment rental. Please stop using the email address. The recipient asked who I was, and I said that I am the owner of the email address being used, and obviously "Brittany" isn't getting these confirmation emails because it doesn't belong to her. I never got a reply.

Before I texted "Brittany," I thought my identity had been stolen. My personal information has been involved in data breaches (whose hasn't?) so it seemed plausible. However, nothing has happened before or since to indicate a stolen identity. I don't have any new or unrecognized logins, no fraudulent charges to my bank account or credit cards, no credit bureau hits, etc. I also logged in to the actual Gmail account itself and updated the password. There was nothing in that inbox to suggest fraud or even any attempts to access it and failing.

The email address in question is simple and made up of two words, one of which is suggestive of my location. That location is several states away from where "Brittany" lives.

After about a month with nothing new from "Brittany," I got more similar emails today. No one is trying to log into the address or I would get a notification.

I feel pretty confident that my identity hasn't been stolen, and that "Brittany" is a real, legitimate person just trying to find housing.

My question is: Who would use an email address they don't have access to to repeatedly sign up for important financial/housing issues? It's obvious that she isn't getting these notifications, and I don't see any evidence that a secondary email is also getting the messages. What's more, I have alerted her that I'm getting her personal information by explaining that I got the number I texted from the application that was sent to me.

What does it benefit someone who appears to be signing up to legitimate sites for legitimate reasons to use an email address that isn't theirs?

Is there anything I can do to stop this? The Gmail address being used has no associations or connections to my accounts/financials, it's just annoying and unnerving to receive these notices because it puts me on even higher alert that some part of my online presence (even if an extremely insignificant part) is being misused.

I appreciate any input.

Need help identifying a license plate

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out for help after a scary incident. A man hit my bike with his vehicle and then drove off. Thankfully, I managed to record a video of the incident, but I’m having trouble identifying the license plate.

I’ve uploaded the video here, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FCLOaMBgq-OMCgWm7GOnKRhpni6B3924/view?usp=sharing . If anyone can help me enhance the footage or has tips for identifying the plate, I’d be incredibly grateful.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Seeking inputs on what she was saying

I would like to solicit the investigative skills of the people here to please decode what the little girl was saying in this video: https://youtu.be/5AiUROUNfTk?si=UYGV7kJwwt6Hxlym

For context, I noticed a notification alarm in my doorbell app and this was captured 5am Saturday morning, which is a strangely unusual time for a little girl to be on her own, let alone ringing an unknown house. Unfortunately, I finished my work very late and slept past nearly 3am; I was out cold and wasn't able to wake up to the sound of the doorbell.

"Help me inaudible" is what she seemed to be saying. I've listened almost a hundred times but still unable to make out the rest of her dialogue.

She doesn't seem to be in a hurry but there's a concerned look in her face, which I have decided to blur out for privacy. I sincerely hope nothing serious happened to her, else I might not be able to forgive myself for not being there for her.

Additional info: I haven't asked around the neighbourhood yet, will do so as soon as I see them back (woke up late today and they might have gone somewhere).

Thanks in advance.

Can you help me identify the plates of the vehicle that hit my car and drove away? I have raw footage, photos, and partial plate characters.

Hit and run, I have parts of the plate. Tips on how to find the rest? DMV won’t help with a lookup. PD is dragging their feet.

My car was hit a couple days ago and the driver took off. I have all the car information but the entire plate. I was able to clean up the footage and saw 2-4 characters out of the six. I’ve already spoke with police and the officer working on my case isn’t in until Sunday. Even then, I doubt they’ll follow through with anything. Are there any other resources I can use to look up a plate?

I was trying a general plate search on a website which gives the latest car info, I tested it on my plates and it was accurate. It’s just a matter of finding the right combination for the first two characters, if the rest are accurate.

I spoke with my town police dept and they said it’s up to the other police dept where I originally started the report. DMV refused to help me.

No other security cams, I have the raw footage, it’s just a matter of getting this guys plates.

Car information: Ram 1500, red, chrome trim, empty trunk bed, hitch on back, power window in the back, tinted windows in the passenger back area (I think that’s called a king cab?) Maine chickadee license plate style with the plate “ _ _ 2A” possibly followed by “PJ” Years 2019-2024

Raw footage: (will need VIC to view or some equivalent)

I just bought this car 2 months ago after I was sold a lemon because my original car was totaled during a wreck, I’m a recent grad and my loan repayment starts this month, on Christmas of all days, I just moved here and this really gives me a sour taste of Bangor. Needless to say, I’m unraveling.

This is posted on the Penobscot County scanner page and didn’t get as much attention as I thought it would. I don’t have many friends here so that was the only thing I could do in terms of spreading on social media.

I’ve called some body shops to let me know if a red Ram comes in for any repairs, but there’s way too many to cover them all.
