Several recruits tweeting pics alluding to a major commitment/flip.
At about the same time wiltfong tweeted 5* Michael Terry III would be announcing Wednesday where he’s going to be playing.
I’m thinking not a coincidence
This is not the end though. We all knew there would be staff changes. With that, comes players leaving/recruits de committing, who committed to a certain staff member, rather than the program itself. It also opens the door for new recruits/transfer players.
This is not the end of the world. The NIL collective isn’t going anywhere and we still have the top 5 facilities in the country. We’ll be alright. December will seem like doom and gloom. We still have a bowl game to practice for and compete in though.
Seasons not over yet. I have faith that Rhule will continue to make wise decisions and bring in the personnel we need. What say you, Cornhusker Nation?
Rhule is feeling the pressure of the NU fishbowl. I think he’s the right guy and is in the middle of second guessing himself after the Carolina setback (which was a combo of awful ownership and not a good fit in the NFL).
He’s been a builder and had a crazy good track record doing it at Temple and Baylor. His recipe at both stops were processing older players in lieu of his freshman recruits.
Nebraska was a unique scenario where there was talent, but a substance abuse riddled spiraling leader with upper class-men that wanted to be coached.
It was a unique scenario that he adapted to for the benefit of those players.
He’s made and is making tough decisions he hasn’t had to make before, but give him some credit for doing so. He doesn’t want to fail again.
Wednesday will be interesting for sure
Always enjoy and respect his takes. I think he’s more plugged into the program more than we think he is.
For a while now, it’s been an understatement to say that Nebraska has an issue with 1-score losses. Last year, the glaring issue was the turnover column via the QB room. We bring in Raiola who did a fair job this year, in comparison to what we had last year. Yet, this year, we dropped one-score losses to Illinois, Ohio State, UCLA, USC, and Iowa. It almost feels like we’re focused on the main issue and then we’re shocked when other issues occur (like the offense being stagnant pre-DH Hire, defense not showing up in crucial moments, special teams impotency). I don’t know if there is a reason I’m not seeing but why do we always lose close games if we’re actively fixing the issues that cost us those games? More importantly, how do go about preventing these losses and why can’t we get over the hump? Is it a cultural thing in the building that we don’t see? Is it a problem that’s being fixed and I don’t realize it yet? After this years Iowa game ending in the same fashion as last year, I’m just at a loss.
2024 Florida State is undoubtedly one of the worst P5/P4 programs I've ever seen. Yes, they are a top flight historic school with a ton of history and respect; but so is Nebraska.
...or are we?
Does White leaving for FSU, a job many might have considered a "lateral move" (prior to today), signify that Nebraska is no longer a desired or preferred destination/job? Money isn't the reason White is leaving. Rhule & the AD could've paid him whatever it would have taken to keep him. He chose to still leave.
To me this signifies the final hint I needed to fully realize and accept Nebraska's fall from grace is real and we're truly a mediocre program now. We've hit our "Minnesota Point" finally after 20 years of non-relavence.
The sky isn't falling but damn. We're finally has-beens.
With last week's win, Penn State leapfrogs Nebraska and Louisville in the latest AVCA coach's poll.

Not that it matters too much though. PSU beat us, so I guess they deserve to be ranked higher, with the same overall record, etc. I feel bad for them though. They've battled hard this year, against some really good teams.
Hopefully everything comes together in the next two weeks and we're back in the finals.
I don’t expect any major losses to our core roster. Our guys are paid well, treated well, and given a chance to compete and earn playing time. There are maybe 30 other schools that can offer this. Most of our core guys will stay.
If we do indeed lose both TW and potroast, I’m really excited to see who we bring in. Rhule has the money to bring in a top dog coordinator, and o also think Butler could do that job at a high level. His secondary units in buffalo were the NFL standard for many years.
Go big red and long live the corn. We will persevere, we will succeed.
If you're not in the know, the Big Ten has been hosting a "blood drive" competition for the past couple of months. You can read about it here.
In short, the US is experiencing the worst blood shortage in generations, mostly due to fewer and fewer returning donors. The Big Ten is hosting this competition between its member institutions to see who can raise the most awareness and get the most donors.
Naturally, Nebraska is at the top. For a while we had over double the donors of second place, but Wisconsin and Michigan have been gaining momentum and closing that gap.
Please donate if you are able. The contest ends on December 7th. We all bleed Red; It's time to show it.
You can donate from any blood center in the country and still record your donation for the Cornhuskers through the website. There are prizes for the winning institution and raffles for individual donors, but most importantly, your donation will help save lives.
With the news of TW and Knighton there probably should be a portal thread. Players that have entered so far are:
Mikai Gbayor
Jimari Butler
Stephon Thompson
Vincent Jackson
