Suck it, Wisconsin!!
I’m from Iowa, but my wife and I are planning on moving to Minnesota. In Iowa, college sports are very popular because we don’t have any pro teams. I’m a pretty big fan of college football and hockey, and would really love to support the gophers, but I’m wondering if it is typical for someone to be a fan without attending the University since there are pro sports in the state. Do most people just follow the pro teams, or are gopher sports popular as well? Would it be odd for me to be a gopher fan even though I have no connection to the school besides living in the state?
Going to the game vs Penn State this weekend and will be on campus around 9/am10am. For most of the nearby bars, like bdubs and stubs, do they open earlier for a 2:30pm game? Or do they open at their 11am time like it says on their websites?
My family and I will be attending our first Gopher football game this weekend. I've done a fair amount of research on this sub and on the athletics website. I wonder if someone could just answer a few follow-up questions for me, please.
1.) Is parking at the state fairgrounds the best option? Will we have to wait a really long time after the game to catch a shuttle?
2.) I know the band does some pre-game stuff outside the stadium. Does anyone know where that takes place and at what time?
3.) What are some good places to eat before or after the game? Keep in mind this is for a family with teenagers so we're not looking for a big party spot.
I'd really appreciate any responses. Thanks and have a great day.
Where do y’all park for hockey games? Went to the game last week and it was an absolute shit show to park. Game was a blast so I just gotta figure out a spot to park for the future lmao
We have shifted the CHAIR-ity game to volleyball this year since we don't play each other in football. We've have an added bonus this year and anyone who donates on behalf of Minnesota will be entered into a drawing to win tickets to the Minnesota - Iowa volleyball game. To date, we have raised over $160,000 for both respective charities. That has been in no small part to the support we get from you all on here.

Note the video says donations start November 1st but you can donate today!

Howdy everyone! If you haven't listened before, we used to be a Pac-12 show and transitioned to Big Ten this offseason. This week, we'll be previewing all the weekend games, including No. 20 Illinois traveling to No. 1 Oregon, No. 3 Penn State's dangerous roadie at Wisconsin, Minnesota's tilt vs. Maryland, and all the action in between.
Tune in here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOPEo1brZwQ
Howdy all:
I have two tickets (reserved chairback in Section 10) for Saturday's game at Ridder vs. the BADgers at 3.
Free to anyone who wants them, I can transfer them directly to your gophersports.com ticket account. These tickets are from a coworker who can't make it.
Row the Boat/Ski-U-Mah/Go GO GO GOPHERS!
After a long couple of weeks of football, our valiant team now gets a well deserved break before homecoming. But you know who's just getting started in conference play? The #2 Golden Gopher Women's Hockey team. And who are we playing this coming weekend? The #1 BADgers.
Plenty of tickets are still available, general admission seats are $12.50 and students are free with your U-Card. It's a great atmosphere, they play fast and tough hockey, and there isn't a single bad seat in all of Ridder Arena. We've got a pep band, we've got a great student section, and we've got the most storied program in all of collegiate women's hockey.
We need as much Maroon and Gold there as possible. Wisconsin fans travel hard for this series, at one game last year it was damn near 60/40 Gophers and badgers. This series will set the tone for our and Wisconsin's conference play. And just like the last few years, it seems likely the national championship will again come down to the top WCHA teams: us, ohio state, wisconsin, and maybe Duluth.
And if you come, you can spot me by the glass near the band, losing my goddamned mind. Come say howdy!

WE JUST BEAT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CLOWNIFORNIA. SO MUCH FOR BEING GOOD ENOUGH TO JOIN THE GEOGRAPHICALLY REMOVED BIG TEN CONFERENCE.
That off side call on the onside kick was such obvious rigging!!
Good morning! Fellow B1G’er seeking advice from the local experts. I will be visiting MSP in the coming weeks with a group and we were curious if there are any breweries that are best to watch the Saturday slate of games, preferably in Minneapolis?
We are somewhat open to bars as well, though are seeking larger spaces since we’ll be in a group. Thanks all!
Seriously, this was a winnable game! What happened during halftime??? 😒😒
