I'm here with family for the Thanksgiving holiday, and wondering if there's anything we can do. Not much going on around here it seems. I know there's lots of outdoor things, but my mum isn't too active.
Hello, what is the ballpark travel time right now from Montrose to Crested Butte now that the bridges between Montrose and Gunnison are allowing cars? I know at least one bridge is crossed via pilot car which can be slow but wasn’t sure average travel time all things considered.
Thanks
Hi! Is there a sports bar in Gunnison where it is possible to watch Broncos games?
Trying to make a miracle happen. Moving to Gunnison for work the week of Sept. 15. Have had no luck finding a place. If you have rental available or know someone would really appreciate it. Or any good ideas on how to find housing.
How is Gunnison Beach in early to mid September? Can people still use it? Does it become dog friendly at any point?

I would like to go to school in the Rockies, and Western Colorado University is one of my top options. How is its premed program? Would I have any opportunities for research?
Does anyone know of any local DnD spots? Thinking of joining a table.
We are currently looking at a few properties in the Gunnison area that include raw land and improved land. Would love to find a knowledgable local realtor to help with our search.

I’m touring a basement apartment later next week and was curious if anyone has any experience on how it is living in them around here. I’ve heard bugs can be bad in some areas of the country. I’d love to hear any thoughts anyone has. Thanks!
Hi friends. I'm coming in from Detroit for a wedding in Black Hawk this weekend and decided to do a little 3-day loop through the western part of the state. I've been to the Front Range many times and wanted to see some new places (and more nature and fewer people, lol).
On Monday the 15th, I was planning on coming eastbound on US-50 from Grand Junction to visit Black Canyon NP and Curecanti NRA then continue on to Salida, but I just discovered the two road projects going on: Little Blue Creek Canyon roadwork and the Middle Bridge emergency repairs.
I've spent a few hours reading everything I can find (including discussions on /r/Colorado, which apparently doesn't allow text posts like this one).
According to CDOT's Little Blue Creek Canyon project page, that 4-mile segment on the west end of the reservoir is open to two-way traffic on weekends and overnights, and alternating one-lane traffic during weekdays (6:30am-7pm). Is this actually what's happening? What sort of traffic/delays are you seeing?
According to CDOT's Middle Bridge project page, the bridge was open to 2-way traffic for the July 4 weekend, and July 8 (today) is when they were going to begin using pilot cars to lead groups of cars across the bridge at scheduled times (seven crossings daily in each direction, except five crossings on Wednesdays). Did this actually start today? I know it's only the first day and the situation will probably change rapidly, but has anybody done this or heard/seen information about wait times? I see other state/county pages that list more limited crossing times or say it's closed entirely, but those are all less detailed and seem to be older.
I'm hoping to avoid using the CR-26/Lake City Cutoff detour amongst all the huge vehicles that can't use the bridge, but I'm open to input about that.
I'm also open to recommendations for anything in the region that I should see, do, or know about! No reason not to have a little fun while we're discussing road logistics.
I appreciate the help! I'm trying to figure out whether I need to throw out my entire travel plan and quickly figure out how to go to the northwest part of the state instead, or if I can still keep my plan with minor adjustments -- and I'd much rather rely on you folks who actually live there, since the official publications from state and county agencies are all contradicting each other.
Hi everyone- coming through for some camping. I’m familiar with Gunnison and CB… but I’ve never stayed in the area with a dog.
Looking for dog friendly restaurants with a patio the dog can be with us on, as well as dog and kid friendly hikes you recommend.
Thanks in advance!
Looking for solid & free camping spots in the area!
(I went to one near Ohio creek, super AWD windy rd to get in, don’t remember exactly where, help?)
Thanks!! 😊
Like the title says. 29M just looking for people to ride with, my friend group is just not as into it as I am. Intermediate skill doing some blacks and pretty stoked for the bike park to open.
Hi, I will be coming to Gunnison in September to recruit at the college career fair. The trip is an exploratory trip if my company (5.1B$) wants to make WCU a regular recruiting spot. I am looking to find nice hotel accommodations, stores to check out, and be a stupid tourist for a week. Please, can you share your recommendations? (Serious)

I was thinking of flying into Montrose and my buddy would pick me up from Gunnison. Does anybody know what the travel time would be with the new bypass route opened? We would be driving back to Gunnison after. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I would ask this on the FB Gunnison and CB Marketplace, but I deactivated my FB, and I don’t want to rejoin anytime soon just to ask this question. So, which has better coverage across the valley, AT&T or Verizon?
Hi Folks, Going to cimarron from Colorado Springs. Can we use county road 26 managed by pilot vehicles or is this just strictly for locals who commute and emergency services?
Hi all. We're coming from Denver in June to Crested Butte to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary and want to take a family photo. We'd like to rent a local photographer for a couple hours one morning. Anyone have any recs? TIA!
This Saturday we are seeing a concert in Almont and staying in Gunnison. The concert runs til midnight. Anyone know of any ride options that might be able to haul my family to and from (or just from).the concert?
I was told this is somewhere near Gunnison Colorado. Does anyone know exactly where? Latitude longitude or nearest intersecting roads?
I’ll be here for a week and I am treating for a half marathon. Could I get some suggestions for my 2 hour run tomorrow?
Hey folks we are visiting some friends in February for some skiing and will potentially be flying into Denver and renting a car to get to Gunnison. Would there be any concerns if I renting an economy car to travel? We would only be using the vehicle to get to Gunnison and returning it to a Hertz rental facility rather than waiting on the bus. This would give us about 6 hours back which I think would be worth the gas and rental.
