Who is the best boot fitter in Colorado ?

Ive been struggling with my boot fit since I started skiing 5 years ago, and it's getting to the point where my abilities have stopped progressing because my feet are either in pain, going numb, or so loose I can't control my skis. I've tried all the low hanging fruit - boot fitting at a local outfitter, after market insole, heat molding, etc. I need better help. Who should I call for help?

Advice for Copper shuttle?

Had a damn good day at copper yesterday, however I kind of felt like the shuttle bus took a long chunk of my time. Was in far east

How is the walk (if you can) from free parking to east village?

Will there be another shuttle from far east/alpine? I think only yellow was running, which took you to central village which was mobbed. Would ideally just go to East/west village.

If so is there a schedule/status tracker I could follow maybe?

Missing how easy (if I even had to) use the shuttle at Loveland last season.

Edit: so it seems you can easily to east from alpine walking.

Now wondering how hard to get from far east to alpine lol. Is it crossing the intersection at the entrance ?

Looking for 3 people to join my OpenSnow All-Access group

Inspired by the other post, I’m starting an OpenSnow All-Access group with three spots available. It’s a one year membership for $5 per person (pay via Venmo). Please DM if you want to join!

EDIT: all spots gone, thanks everyone! But you can still register a single account for like $13 if you use their CYBERMONDAY24 promo code 😊

Private Instructor for Beaver Creek

Hi everyone!!

My family is going to Vail the 7th of December to the 14th. They are extremely advanced skiiers and I am a beginner. Vail mountain is very difficult for me and I often get very frusterated because I have never had a true one on one lesson so I don't really know how to ski. I was looking at taking some private lessons over at Beaver Creek since I have heard it’s much more beginner friendly but the price is $999.

I was wondering if there is anyone who is outside of the beaver creek resort that offers private lessons for an hourly rate? I am only looking for two, maybe 3 hours of instruction just to get the basics down.

Edit: i’ve had bad experiences with groups and have been left behind several times, so i’m not interested in a group lesson.

Please let me know!
Thanks!

Late March i-70 weekend traffic, is it as bad as dec-feb?

Is the traffic still awful in late march? I have 8-10 friends flying in to ski with me on the weekend, and as of right now i'm telling them fly out on Monday instead of Sunday, as we're renting in breck and i-70 will be absolutely awful.

Is this true, though? To be honest, i have't ski'd on a weekend in at least 5 years. That traffic is just not for me.

Ski trip around Denver

Trying to plan a ski and decent food trip to the Denver CO area (fly in, rent a car, stay in a Airbnb/Hotel) for me and my girlfriend, we’re both pretty beginner level but trying to get out there around late February. Vail and Breckenridge prices are insane? I’ve stayed in Silverthorne and done Vail before but that was with a group which made it a lot more reasonable. Is there any smaller towns that would be a good place to get a AirBnb and won’t have to travel far to a mountain? I’ve read about Loveland and Winter Park but wanted to get your guys thoughts! Thanks so much in advance

Heading out for the first time this season tomorrow - where should I go?

I'm coming from the front range area and have Epic and Ikon (for the first time) this year. I'm a squarely intermediate skier. Never been to Keystone or WP before. What spot should I hit up tomorrow? What's going to be the least crowded with the best open terrain?

If anyone knows the snowboarder who got absolutely shit housed by the out of control kid at Breck today on Northstar I saw the whole thing.

Little shit almost fucking clipped me passing me before he hit the guy. Lost control ended up on one ski and fucking wham. He had to have been doing 40+ mph. Thankfully a yellow jacket was right there to tend to the whole thing. Hope the guy is alright. If anyone knows him and the dude needs a witness dm me.

Snowboarding Xmas Eve

It’s my birthday Xmas Eve. I’ve never snowboarded in my birthday. Thinking Breckenridge or keystones. Is it going to be such a zoo it’s not worth it?

Is there a Lodge at Beaver Creek where non-skiers can wait?

I'd like to wait for my kids somewhere while they ski then have them meet me for (packed) lunch. Is there a lodge at Beaver Creek where people do this?

Thanks

Best November Ever

If you were waiting out the early season, thinking whats the point, you missed out this year!

My first day was a powder day at Eldora, and my 10th day this month was eating up powder stashes at Winter Park Today. Dont forget those beautiful days at Copper, they had the best terrain to spread out in. Low traffic weekends. Usually I think of November skiing as just icy death, going down the same run 100 times... but this was by far the best early season skiing I have ever done.

Buddy pass IKON Winter Park

Would someone happen to have some buddy passes to spare? Trying to make this trip in our budget if possible. Crazy how expensive these passes have gotten but it is what is it, and worth the post. Thanks in advance!

This is for a trip in February to winter park, 2 days worth of snowboarding.

Can we just talk about how BS the Epic buddy/SWAF tickets are?

Nothing new here but figured this subreddit might share the feeling — I’ve had an Epic local pass for years and never used the benefit tickets. Just looked into it for a friend coming to visit and it’s definitively cheaper for them to buy an Epic punch pass before it goes off sale this weekend.

$220 for a Feb day pass to Vail via Ski With a Friend, I think close to $200 for buddy pass at Breck around the same time? I get these are cheaper than a day pass in late season and are targeted at more of a “come ride with me, I have a pass discount!” last minute folks once passes go off sale in a few days but right now an Epic 1-day pass is like $115. I just think they’re a BS “perk” for regular pass holders because the discount is minuscule and day passes are still prohibitively expensive even if you’re getting a few bucks off. Epic should make it a more meaningful discount but that’s just my opinion

Rant over :)

Kids Half Day Lesson

We’ve switched from epic to ikon this year and I wanna get my 4 yo a half day lesson at copper or WP. He did a half day at Breck last year and it worked out great. Right price point…not too long in the day that he’ll get over it. Currently I’m not seeing any half day options at WP or Copper. Is it still too early in the season or am I being forced into a full day?

Anyone have a couple friends and family discounts for Ikon?

Going to copper in January for 2 days with a friend. I had to buy epic this year for telluride but will be skiing in January and Feb in copper. Anything helps. Ty.

Help choosing

Hello, I’m an east coaster currently in Grand Junction and need to be in Leadville on Sunday. Thought I would rent some gear and take my daughter riding tomorrow (Saturday). Would rather not deviate much from route between the two towns. Was thinking powderhorn but looks like they are in a “soft” open mode. Would consider Aspen or Vail as they are on the route but that would be expensive for us. Would be happy to do it for great experience. We have only ever skied the west at Brian Head, UT and would love to give her the Colorado wide open experience. Any advice given current conditions, crowds, etc? She is pretty good on all terrain, I love blue groomers.

Thanks for any advice.

Edit:we have no epic, ikon, etc.

Winter park black Friday question?

Usually I go for Ikon or Epic but funds are tight this year.. Kind of shocked to see winter park's pass is only $200 less than Ikon's base price though.. That is pretty bold of them lol. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a winter park only pass with the Black Friday sale? Any codes or maybe if I called and asked? I know it is what it is normally on discounts, but hey never bought a park only pass might as well ask or just suck it up and pay extra for Ikon

Found, skis on highway near keystone

My brother in law was skiing keystone yesterday and driving out toward Dillon came across a pair of skis in the middle of the highway…. He doesn’t have Reddit so posting for him. If you lost your skis, hit me up. Let me know if it was you by telling me what kind of skis they were and I’ll get them back for you.
