Civil, On-topic Discussion of Anarcho-Capitalism and other Libertarian Topics.
MEMBERS ONLY - Civil, on-topic discussion of anarcho-capitalism and other libertarian topics.
Libertarianism is a philosophy that holds that one should not initiate aggression on person or property. Anarcho-capitalism is a political philosophy that advocates for the elimination of the state in favor of individual sovereignty, private property, and free market production of law and justice. Anarcho-capitalists believe that in the absence of a state or ruler, society would improve itself through empowering individual choice and the discipline of the free market, or what its proponents describe as a voluntary society.
Racism and Social Justice are considered off-topic here; libertarianism does not have a racial component. All posts related to racism and social justice must have some obvious link to libertarianism and may be removed at moderator discretion.

A cooperative city/community has offered hundreds of landowners in a low-lying region lucrative compensation for their land. If everyone agrees, a hydroelectric dam will be built, that floods the region. It will provide electricity to millions of people, improving the quality of their lives.
Everyone ultimately agrees to accept the offer, and move out of the region; allowing it to be flooded after the dam is built. All except one obstinate owner, with a tiny plot of land in the affected region. He refuses to enter into arbitration, he's just not interested in selling.
What happens? Can he be forced off his land to benefit millions, or does the NAP mean he gets to keep his land and deny the majority?
I saw someone posted about a year ago regarding the School Sucks Podcast and the lack of availability for the episodes online. I'm reposting on the subject in case you are still looking.
First of all, you can access many of the files via Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It appears to have both the archived versions of listings from podomatic as well as backups of the original site which points to podomatic but also has additional articles, so you can type these into the Wayback Machine: http://schoolsucksproject.com , https://schoolsucks.podomatic.com/
Secondly, I believe they have a locals site here: https://schoolsucksproject.locals.com/
I actually have a number of the episodes on my computer that I stumbled across then I did a search on reddit to see if there was any discussion about the show. When I saw the GoldandBlack post I decided to post this and thought about the other podcasts I've personally archived to CD/DVD. I don't tend to throw things away but I am doing some Spring cleaning/organizing and wondering if it would be useful to anyone if I checked what I had and put something together. If that's of interest to anyone let me know. It's important to preserve the history/content, IMO, and maybe a few torrent uploads would be a good idea to get the information out there.
From a libertarian legal perspective in the scale of individuals and as applied to organized crime/murder.
If an organization has enough human shields such that nobody is able to use the force necessary to stop them without harming the human shields, does that organization now effectively have immunity and libertarians will relentlessly criticize anyone who tries to stop them because of predictable harm to 3rd parties?
Obviously the topic is coming up because of Israel vs Hamas, but let's talk about libertarian first principles for a moment here.
