Tried Hong Kong in Gretna already to no avail.
Also looking for actual Kaffir Limes (the peel, specifically)
Thanks.
We were going to go there for dinner tonight until we realized that it's only open for dinner on Friday, so we're going to have to go for lunch, given that we have plans for Friday. I really want to try their fried chicken, I've heard it's the best in New Orleans, but I want to make sure that it's there for lunch when we'll be going. Thanks.
I will be going to New Orleans first week of April and I want to make sure I get the very best food there is to offer. What is your favorite spot to eat? Doesn't matter if its big or small, pricey or not, I just want to enjoy my trip to the max. (If this isnt the right sub please send me in the right direction Thank you)
I’m curious why Tujaques never gets mentioned with all of the other old school creole restaurants in New Orleans. It has a history and signature dishes, but it never gets mentioned in travel webcasts. I found it because a friend of mine recommended it. His family would go there when he lived in New Orleans. One guide book I looked in said that it “was popular with a certain type of New Orleans”. I’m not sure what that was supposed to mean. Can anyone clue me in on what’s up with Tujaques? I enjoyed my meal and have a copy of their original cookbook.
My wife and I want daiquiris but we can't go get them. Any suggestions?
Edit: Or smoothies or Icees/Slushpuppies.

My hubs & I bought tix to Big Easy Speakeasy for TONIGHT (10/09/15 - Friday) at a very discounted rate not realizing we had a prior commitment. Don't want these tickets to go to waste as this is an awesome event. Tickets last I checked were going for $65, but I'm dumping my two tickets for $70 TOTAL. Free booze and food included with ticket price. Please take these off my hands! PM me ASAP if you are interested, and we'll find a way to coordinate.

I live uptown so I typically go to Elio's. Does anyone recommend a store with excellent stock/prices? Ideally one larger than Elio's.
Hosting a small (less than 9 people) dinner and I'm in need of a restaurant on or around Canal St. that's located either between the Riverwalk or Esplanade. Price range moderate if possible. Want to do a lot of other fun stuff so I don't want dinner to break the bank from the get go.
Jazmine Cafe vs. Ba Chi Canteen vs. Pho Bistreaux
Which has the best pho in your opinion? I can't decide... Also, if you think there's a place uptown that has better pho lemme know.
I'm flying down from the Pacific Northwest with a group of friends next week and staying for the weekend. How would you guys recommend we grossly exceed our daily caloric intakes? I do need one fancy occasion spot for Saturday evening (preferably french/cajun?), but other than that, name your best of anything!
Thanks
I'm working on a documentary about the role that restaurants play in revitalizing neighborhoods, and whether they can help solve community hunger rather than be part of the economic engine that displaces low-income residents. You can find out more about the project here.
I need advice on where I should go in NOLA. What restaurants are integrating into the communities, helping be a positive force for revitalization? How are they doing that? Are they providing jobs? Affordable menu options? And on the flip side, which ones aren't doing such a great job? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
My boyfriend and I will be visiting for our first time this weekend. Where is the best spot for good, cheap(ish) eats, bottomless mimosas, and football!?
Finally made it there yesterday. Pizza is a known quantity (delicious--had the burrata pesto and also the clam, both were incredible), but also the Octopus, the brussells sprouts salad, and especially the Snapper Crudo were just insanely good. Also enjoyed a Brewfist 2Late beer which was amazing. Pizza Domenica is less than the full Domenica, but more than just pizza.
I don't have a picture, but I gotta come here and give a shout out for Chef Ron. His shop is in Metairie, service road off of Causeway Blvd, like you are going to the Galleria.
Haven't had a bad meal there yet.
