Hi! I made a reservation for my husband's birthday at Raoul's tomorrow at 5pm (right when it opens). I had booked there as my husband has been wanting to try the burger. I realized after booking that getting a burger is not guaranteed.
Does anyone have advice for me to secure a burger for him tomorrow? I also read that we may need to sit at the bar to get a burger - is that possible with a reservation?
TIA!!
Which delivery service (Uber eats, grubhub, etc) treats its workers the best?
I usually use Grubhub but despite tipping well, I always still feel bad for the ppl who bring my food.
They all look so sad and overworked
I know the questions been asked before, where to eat near broadway, but haven’t seen anything specific to wine and charcuterie…
Any great suggestions for a vibey place with good food in Brooklyn?
Not looking for any okonomiyaki suggestions, please! I really want monjayaki specifically, and if it doesn't exist here, then I accept that reality.
I plan on dining at Becco for dinner tomorrow with family. I have food allergies to eggs, seafood, sesame, and mustard. I reviewed their menu, and it does seem like there are menu items I would be able to have. I also tried to call Becco to confirm they can accommodate my allergies, but there was no option to speak to a live person.
Asking here if anyone has dined at Becco with food allergies and what your experience was like. Thanks!
looking for best crispy fry, best burger temperature, best customer service (NOT using those ipads)
Hey all,
Live in alphabet city and looking for a place with reasonable prices that will help me get my calories and protein in. I meal prep on the weekdays but get lazy on the weekends so wanted to hear ideas if you had any. I’m around 1st and 1st crosses for reference. Thanks!!
I need to host a business dinner for 14 people, likely needing a private room. Several guests would be coming down by car from Westchester, so we want it to be somewhat easy to get to (i.e. not midtown or downtown). Upscale ish means not Applebees but also not excessively fancy. Cost isn't as much of a concern, we know the private room will cost bucks. Open to most cuisines.
I am not a local, just work in the city from time to time, so appreciate any recs!
Would appreciate an omakase recommendation in manhattan for a date night, west side preferable, looking to spend about $100-200 pp, have enjoyed the more casual spots (ie dojo) over the more formal and pricer spots (nakazawa), where I can get a res in the next month without waking up at 3am, looking at shogun omakase or sushi kaito so if you’ve been let me know!
Thanks!
I am planning a birthday dinner and would expect about 12-18 guests. I am looking for a private room in a restaurant. Location would ideally be in Hell’s Kitchen or Hudson yards, but also open to upper west side, Chelsea, or west village. I am open to all cuisine types, but we enjoy Italian, Korean, tapas, Thai, Mexican, and really everything else. For budget, I am really hoping we can find something where with food and wine, the cost would be about kept to about 150/person. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.
Almost two years ago, in May 2023, my Uncle Colin and I went to NYC.
The one restaurant that I loved during my time there was Da Gennaro in Little Italy.
It’s a old school Italian place that is 100% authentic, and the Spaghetti & Meatballs are unreal.
If anyone’s planning a trip to NYC, I really recommend Da Gennaro, it’s probably of the best restaurants in the entire city.
We're stopping over in NYC for a very brief period (we're not from the US) and just want to try something good. We're not picky eaters and dont really want to go for something that we'd naturally gravitate to - so just wondering what your go-to fav place to eat is in NYC?
Does anyone know when the March reservations drop? Trying to get a table for 4
Or just tasty roasted veggies in general. Unable to cook at the moment, even though I love to. I really like the orange glazed roasted sweet potatoes in grand central market, but curious what else is available. I eat at-least a pound a day of roasted sweet potatoes/vegetables.
Hoping this lands on the right feed so someone can validate my feelings. Does the basement of Upon a Palace in Tribeca remind anyone else of a David Lynch film?
I’m moving to Manhattan tomorrow (kind of a life long dream of mine) and looking for suggestions for a good first-night-as-New-Yorkers dinner with my husband. Not looking for super fine dining or anything that requires reservations we wouldn’t be able to get the same day, but beyond that we’re pretty open. Honestly we don’t even really have a preference for takeout vs. dine-in, we’re just looking for something that fits the vibe. We’ll be in the FiDi/lower Manhattan area, which I know is not generally the greatest spot for exciting food, but we’re not looking to stray too far from that for tomorrow since we’ll have an exhausting day of moving before dinner. What food or restaurant would you recommend to welcome people to the city?
Need to take a prospective client out for lunch near (ideally just south east of) Bryant Park. She’s from Italy so La Pecora Bianca is out. Made a “just in case” reservation for Bryant Park Grill but it’s boring.
We’re having a little birthday lunch for a friend (6 people in total) and I’m looking for a place where we could bring a cake for dessert — a restaurant, cafe, anywhere that would be cool with it. We could bring plates/utensils so it doesn’t need to be limited to places that would provide that. Somewhere in Manhattan, ideally between Nolita and Bryant Park. Thanks.
been craving it and haven't found a good one yet. ideally has red onions on it too. Any recs?
Question in title. Kind of amusing how the show turned them around on Michelin-starred food, but I'd like to take this opportunity to show them an amazing meal to cement their newfound love for fine dining. I'm leaning toward Jungsik, Atera or Oiji Mi, but would love to hear some other options. Thanks!
Hey I’m trying to take my brother and his friends out for his birthday. He’s turning 24, he’s a simple guy, he’s giving on the spectrum. I need a good place where we aren’t paying a lot he doesn’t even drink so really it’s just about the food quality or if they do anything fun for birthday occasions.
Looking for some help! My girlfriend's birthday is coming up, and I want to celebrate at a nice Italian or Mediterranean spot in NYC. We love places with good music, food and ambiance (we loved Meduza, Scarpetta, and Kyma) so I’m looking for something similar: great food, a cool vibe, and a place where I can dress up a little. Any recommendations?
Looking for affordable recommendations on Catering for 15 people. Thanks!!!!
I made a reservation at Carbone for Sunday accidentally instead of tomorrow and I just realized, so I'm scrambling for a last-minute date night restaurant spot and to not disappoint my girlfriend, because she was super excited about Carbone! I made a back-up reservation in a restaurant at West Village for 7 PM (have 6 PM to cancel), but our day plans end at 4:00 PM, so I was planning on booking it to WV from midtown, and to line up at either I Sodi, Via Carota, or Semma, to hopefully get into one of those places for bar seating or late dinner. We don't mind chilling at a bar for a few hours if we can get our name down. Do you guys think this is a good plan? This is a sort of special occasion for us, so I really am trying to grab one of these awesome restaurants, but again we'll have fun at our back up as well! What do you guys think?
A few years back there was a grocery store on Forsyth st in Chinatown that sold bags of pork and beef bones that were great for making stock, it has since closed, any other stores in the neighborhood have this?
If you have a reservation at a busy restaurant, what is the appropriate or acceptable amount of time to wait for a table if it’s not ready when you arrive at the reserved time? If you have to wait an excessive amount of time, do you expect or ask for something (free drink, etc)?
hi ! does anyone know any pasta places that taste similar to the ones at lamarca?
i used to loveeeee going to lamarca, and to this day, i'm still so sad it closed :(
i don't think i had any pasta that tasted nearly as good as lamarca's lol, lamarca's pasta just hits different.
