We would have the international stage.
Is anything being planned? Does anyone want to plan SOMETHING?
We can come out against Top Golf, Walmart, BLM etc.... but we are just gonna sit back for THIS?
This is my time of year, I love Mardi Gras & I go pretty hard every year, but this year I cannot get into the spirit. Even with it getting unbearably long, Chewbacchus has historically been such a favorite night of mine, and I don’t think I’m going to drag myself out to it tonight. Between the terrorism, Super Bowl disruptions, sneauxmageddon, and this dumpster fire of fascism hanging over our heads… i just can’t seem to get myself revved up!
Anyone else?
Originally from New Orleans but have been on the Northshore the last 4 years because of working on this side. Looking to get back to the city, preferably uptown. Been looking on Facebook marketplace for a good spot but it seems that every single listing is a scam (a couple blurry pictures with a house that's too good to be true for the price with a person who created their facebook in 2024). Any tips on finding a good rental spot?
Hello! I’m looking to advertise a business, looking to put together a list of places that allow advertising such as a bulletin board, places to leave business cards, etc.
It can be a business, bar, hotel.
Hoping this list can help others as well, thanks!

Who wants to picket St. Louis Cathedral during Super Bowl week to protest Aymond’s coup at Second Harvest while national media is here?
I have a feeling security issues won’t let it happen, but we need to leverage national media to turn the heat up in this story.
i'm looking to change psychs after many years with my current one. i was looking at private practices, but for insurance and my meds, ochsner seems to be my best bet. i'm already a bit stressed tbh, since i need a referral and they said the turnaround on a callback could be a couple weeks (assuming they even got it--i have to fax ochsner all the time for work and we always have trouble)
so before i commit fully to them i guess im just looking for opinions on their psych department. once you're established, how easy is it to set up appointments or pick up refills? some of my prescriptions are scheduled so they can only be handwritten and they have to be done by an MD. i'm really nervous about making this switch so any input is appreciated :)
I just got a delivery from Walmart to my home in Treme 2 days ago, 1/29/25, and have been getting them regularly for months now. When I went to make another order tonight, 1/31, because milk is a necessity in my house, the app said, “Delivery isn’t available to your address yet.” When did this change and why?
What’s the best place for a big man to get a white suit?
Found female brownish dog on corner of Alcee Fortier Blvd & Chef Menteur Hwy in Village De L’Est. Please message me if you know whose she is.
Where can I find it I looked at a couple liquor store but haven’t found it anywhere yet
Vaguely remember a post last year of an urn stolen in Seventh ward, think it was Marigny or Bywater.

I needed to run into H&M today to return a shirt and this was the price of parking for ONE HOUR in the French Quarter
On lakeshore and watching helicopter on causeway for last 15mins.
Anybody know what happened?
Concerned Citizen here.
The nurse's union at UMC is planning a strike, and you might have heard about it, because the timing is over the Superbowl, which I hope also raises some awareness about this issue.
I want to provide some context about their demands, specifically parking.
UMC charges employees to park at the facility. $500 a year for parking is taken out of their paychecks to cover parking. To put a number on that, UMC has about 2500 employees, and the parking charges are not limited to just nurses. If you assume every UMC employee is being charged for this, that amounts to $1.25M a year.
Additionally, nurses at UMC make about 22% less, per year, than the national average, as per Indeed.com
Keep in mind, the CEO of UMC/LCMC, Gregory Feirn makes $2.4M a year. That information is easily searchable, as the organization must publish executive salaries.
UMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center in the heart of our dear city. What that means is this is the only place where you can receive the highest level of care for life threatening injuries or emergent care in the center of our community. We all know how demanding working in that part of our city can be.
The nurses are asking for their employer to provide them a place to park, so they can fulfill a critical function for our community. It's egregious that negotiations have fallen apart many times, and even more egregious that employees who put their own well being and safety on the line, day to day, have to beg an employer to provide them reasonable accommodations.
There are a lot of other issues on the table, but the fact that negotiations have stalled, specifically around parking costs, is ridiculous.
If you want to support these nurses, voice your support for them by contacting The Human Resources department for UMC/LCMC corporate offices at +1 (504) 702-4862 or The UMC/LCMC HR office at +1 (504) 702-3324. You can also contact UMC/LCMC's office of marketing and public affairs, at +1 (504) 702-3769.
Or, if you're feeling frosty, go ahead and show your support by showing in-person solidarity with these nurses as they strike for reasonable accommodation from their employer.
but this time I’m in search of someone that can create (mens) pants from scratch. Like, custom pants from material. I have a pair of pants that fit perfectly, and I’d like to have them duplicated since they’re no longer available for purchase.
Anyone know anyone?
Long shot but I have been trying to find a working VCR locally for the longest time with no luck. I have exhausted the local thrift/pawn/marketplace/Craigslist repeatedly & always come up empty handed. I have a 25gal tote of tapes that contain home movies along with other random things that were recorded by my dad who passed away in 2001. I would like to get the tapes digitized but I want to see what's on them first. Really don't want to spend money to get a digital copy of random TV show recordings from the 90s LOL any help or info pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated!
Edit: autocorrect typo & added flair that made the most sense
First time driving to Chewbacchus instead of streetcar. Tried scouring the internet for what streets will be closed but came up with absolutely nothing besides the very obvious roads (on the route). Anyone know what other roads will be blocked off?? Thanks!
Anyone know what happened to them? The website went dead a week or so ago and there’s no info on what happened. They were planning on delivering once the snow cleared and then phone, website, etc for Louisiana all dead.
I received the following email with information about how to get to work in the French quarter next week. I usually carry a backpack with essentials and clothes to change into afterwards. Guess I’ll have to pare down. Thought yall might benefit from this too. Yall stay safe. Be aware of your surroundings. And make that money!

With large crowds expected safety in and around the French Quarter is paramount. Law enforcement officials are announcing that additional safety guidelines have been implemented for this event. From February 5, 2025, through February 10, 2025, there will be a French Quarter Enhanced Security Zone (FQESZ) from Canal Street to St. Ann Street between Royal Street and Dauphine Street. The following guidelines are in place for the French Quarter Enhanced Security Zone (FQESZ): (1) Backpack coolers and ice chests are prohibited within the FQESZ. (2) Anything larger than 4.5” x 6.5” (the size of a clutch handbag) are discouraged and subject to search by law enforcement prior to entering the FQESZ. (3) Vehicles will be prohibited from entering the FQESZ except for emergency purposes. Beginning February 5, 2025, any vehicles parked in the FQESZ will be towed. (4) Visitors staying at hotels on Bourbon Street should access their hotel using the Royal Street or Dauphine Street entrances. Visitors will be allowed access with luggage at the nearest barrier/cross street if the hotel does not have access to those streets. Those visitors must provide proof of hotel reservation and identification. (5) Anyone refusing a search will be denied entry to the FQESZ. Beginning February 5, 2025, only those vehicles dropping off visitors to hotels, residents of the area, and emergency vehicles will be allowed into the area from Canal Street to St. Ann Street between Decatur Street and North Rampart Street. Residents and hotel visitors must provide proof of hotel reservation/residency prior to entry. (2) Concealed weapons are prohibited in bars, casinos, government buildings and venues such as the Superdome. (3) If carrying a concealed handgun, you must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and you should never handle the firearm in a way that could cause harm to others. (4) When interacting with law enforcement officers, it is your responsibility to notify them if you are armed. Troopers will be assigned to the French Quarter, Central Business District, and key roadways and event locations, including the Caesars Superdome, providing high-visibility vehicle and foot patrols throughout the week. Hi everyone, I have a small collection - 11 total of New Orleans postcards from around the 1950s. Does anyone know a collector who might be interested? Thanks!
