Hi everyone,
I am teaching someone to drive. Do you have any recommendations of areas where there's not a lot of cars, or people?
If anyone is amazing at teaching someone to drive with the patience of a saint and interested, please pm me.
Cheers,
My husband and I are looking to buy a house and really like the Vista Ridge community. Or only concern is the landfill just north. I was going to get some insights - can you smell the landfill in Vista Ridge?
My wife and I are closing on a house soon in the Vista Ridge community and are checking everything off the list that one does prior to moving to a new place. Two things we’d love some local insight on are:
& 2. What type of sump pump have you found to be reliable given the weather in Erie?
Any information would be a huge help.
Dear people of Erie. Please be kind —After years of renting, this is my first time buying a house. I am considering a house in one of those new developments; the realtor mentioned a 1.4% property tax. I make the calculation and this number is about 8.5k annually. Does this number sound right to you? I asked the realtor and got a convoluted answer instead of a yes or no. For you, What is your home insurance cost (I know this will depend on the house, but I want to get an idea)? Thank you for helping. I know there are more specific subs about home-buying but I wanted to ask current residents of Erie. All other advice is greatly appreciated.
Last July I was able to get 50% off memberships to the Denver Zoo and Museum of Science I think as part of Celebrate Colorado week, but I haven’t seen any similar offers this year. Does anyone know if these are an annual thing? I see that the zoo is offering 50% one day general admission tickets.
So I am moving to Erie in about a month to go to school in Boulder (much better than my current hour and 15 minute commute haha). I currently live in Texas so I will not only be new to Erie but also Colorado and was just looking for some general advice/vibe check on Erie. I have been lurking on this subreddit but I figured I’d make a post just to see what you guys have to say. Any info is greatly appreciated!!
Working in Westminster (relocating from out of state) and looking at possibly renting a place in Erie near E. County Line Rd. and Araphoe. I think this is in Boulder County. I like that I'd be reasonably close to work and also to Boulder and hiking activities.
Commute looks okay and maybe the worst thing I've read about Erie is the cost of water. Can anyone give me a sense on what you pay, and how that might compare to something like Broomfield?
Hi all,
I'm looking to move to Erie, near Thomas reservoir/meadowlark school (that general neighborhood) and was curious about any smells from the landfill a few miles away as well as any issues/environmental concerns regarding what looks like several oil or fracking wells in the general area?
I was hoping I could ask for anyone's first hand experience in that area and if there are any concerns worth mentioning.
Thanks all!
Edit/update: appreciate the input, after some more digging the area seems safe for now.
However, if you weren't aware of the Draco Pad OGPD, I'd take a look (if you're even interested/care). Seems pretty crazy to me that they can start a fracking project in Weld and have it horizontally cross west into Boulder county laterally for a rough total of 5 miles, link included with maps...
Has anyone had kids in both and been able to compare? What have been your experiences of the Saint Vrain school district?
Hello!
Hoping to get daycare recommendations in the area. We are touring at the moment and developing some opinions, but I’m curious everyone else’s experiences and what you might recommend.
Specifically we are looking at Everbrook, Kiddie Academy, Primrose, Goddard, and maybe Little Sunshine’s
Trying to think of an idea for a cute first time date ? Place with walking, access to tea, chocolate, wine.
Could be Loveland, Fort Collins too :)
Thank you guys for your time 💕
WFH with a lot of zoom meetings and streaming
I've done a little bit of research but I was wondering if anyone knew a little more than I did on the landfill situation in Erie? I know that 2 of the 3 landfills have been capped, I think they built a mountain bike course on one of them? The other one however some people online have been saying it may close in the next 4 or 5 years, but when I go to the specific website for the landfill it says they plan on having it active until 2051?
If anyone can give insight that lives there it'd be greatly appreciated. Does it smell? Does it bother the locals at all? Anyone know when they maybe closing the last active one down or is my information above tracking? Thanks all for any input!
I don't get the lack of transparency. The info will definitely come out, so why spend the effort to try to hide it?
It’s north on highway 52 and county road 5. It shined in my eyes on mineral road by 79th heading home. It was that far away.
Looks kinda like a fire but I can’t see any flames just flickering from here.
Any recommendations for good coverage in Erie? I live in Erie Highlands. Leaving GoogleFi and looking for a replacement. Thanks in advance.
Quite an ordeal last night/early morning on Ferris, surprised not to see anything about it today. Any news on what happened?
Those of you that live near the airport is there noise and or pollution concerns?
See you there!
Anyone know who the band will be?
How good it is?
Evidently the protest failed, so I'm moving on... anyone want to take over as mod?
I'm moving from Boulder and wondering what the best walking trails are in the Erie area. I was really disappointed to find out Coal Creek Trail was all paved through Erie. Any more natural paths I can take my dog, without driving back to Boulder?
Hello Erie CO 👋 I am trying to find the major differences between owning property in what I consider the Weld, Boulder, Broomfield county triangle area. Benefits/downsides etc… Our family is moving there this summer. The likely most obvious would likely be property taxes, but if someone could provide some information outside that data, maybe as a resident or business owner, I would really appreciate it.
Our family is looking to purchase a home in either Colliers Hill or Erie Highlands. I am struggling to find current information about fracking. Are the pads near both neighborhoods still active or has the work been completed?
