I've essentially been physically disabled for about 4 years. In my case, I'm finally getting better, physically stronger, sleeping better, actually have energy on my days off to do light activity, etc. It's been a long and exhausting recovery.
Now that I'm feeling better, I would love to be able to go out into nature again. What are the absolute easiest nature hikes in Boulder? Don't want to have to travel more than 20 minutes, but closer would be more doable (don't want to drive far exhausted after it).
As a bonus, if you know of any nature places that allow overnight parking, that would be incredible. It's been a long time since I've been able to spend some time outside the city. I can't camp yet, but I do have a vehicle that can double as a camper if I can park.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! We've been thinking of focusing a bit on our spirituality recently and are looking for open-minded churches in the Lafayette / East Boulder area. Bonus points if they have kids activities or fun science-based activities to explore with little ones.
Ideally, we'd also join a church that offers a healthcare plan to its congregation. Are those an option in Colorado? It's been a while since we've looked.
Thank you for your recommendations!
My Motomaki bowl will free today or up to 30 days. Who else has killer birthday deals?
Looks like the Sunday free day is sold out. There’s another free day Saturday, but I’m unable to make it. If anyone has Sunday free day tickets they can’t make, I’d absolutely love to take your place. Hoping to find 2 for me and SO
Went to visit and noticed it was closed, anyone got a scoop?
Also why the fuck do we vote for coroner?
I’ve never understood this. Serious answers appreciated!
Sorry for bad video, friend was driving into Boulder on 119 and saw this light thing on foothills, anyone know what it is? We’re curious!!
I know we live in the healthiest city in the country but sheesh I can’t eat all this candy on my own 😂
Is there any history behind the houses at Rollinsville, near the parking for JPW? When were they abandoned? It doesn't look like too long ago.
I just received an email from Boulder Dental Arts that they will no longer be accepting dental insurance starting next year. I have been a patient there for many years and it was pretty upsetting to be informed that they have no plans to grandfather in current patients.
Does anyone have any recommendations for dentists that accept Delta Dental and provide a similar level of care? Lafayette, Erie, or Longmont preferred.
Anyone make the switch from King Soopers to Whole Foods? Is the cost jump significant?
We've shopped at King Soopers for years, but haven't been overly happy with the produce and meat lately. We shop mostly organic, but not exclusively.
I'm wondering if switching to Whole Foods is
a) Worth it for better meat and produce.
b) As much of a cost jump as I'm assuming it will be.
Just expressing my frustrations over them making the turning lane into a single. As though the traffic wasn't bad enough in the morning and early evening. If you catch the worst of it, it can easily add 10 minutes on to your commute. I know the purpose of it. It just sucks.
This year I moved to a house in a neighborhood. Should I expect trick or treaters tonight, or do they wait until the weekend?
When did they close!?
I work in Gunbarrel and have seen him in past years. Just wondering if there are any sighting this year?

Hi friends, I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations for a jewelry shop in town (or slightly out of town) that does deep cleaning for rings?
I have my mom’s old engagement and wedding ring set that needs a good, professional scrubbing and potentially an enamel coating on the band. Is there a reputable place in town that anyone has done this at before?
Heavy police presence on 30th St. at Valmont kind of when you’re heading up to North Boulder. Looks like a lot of cop cars with lights on ..Does anyone know what’s going on?
Why did Claire Levy vote against this? An 8 mile bike trail that keeps bikers safe from cars through a not pristine corridor. Thankfully she was outvoted but now I am not sure of my support for her. Can anyone explain her rationale?
I don't mean places that have a stated "service included" price. That can be fine or even great.
I mean restaurants that tack on weird, misleading fine-print fees. Most of which don't have explicit verifyable "100% of this goes to the dishwashing team - in addition to excellent wages we pay". Like the 4% "kitchen fee" that Santo tacks onto the bill. Or Dagabi's "Staff" fees. Or Levan's 10% "Quality Fee." None of those go to tip out the waiters, none of those state the wages they're adding too. Any of those could go to the owner or managers. And all of those go to things that were always included in the menu price, and are now fine print "junk fees".
I absolutely hate these misleading and disreputable practices, and want to call out the places that continue to play junk fee pricing games with what used to be an incredibly standard customer/restaurant social contract. (The price of the menu is for all of the staff and business expenses, the tip is for the servers.). I get that running a restaurant is expensive, and that inflation has driven up the cost of many/most things. But just tell me the actual price where you state the price.
Pleasantly surprised today by the nice new steps and level gravel fill. No more almost slipping down on rainy days!
