I found a rechargeable front bike light on the Elmers Twomile path near Safeway. PM me if you lost it so I can get it back to you.
Just received email: https://mailchi.mp/316b8195cba1/save-boulder-airport-campaign-is-cleared-for-take-off-13835422?e=0e180bf079
Dear Airport Supporters,
We have an important update for you. Although the ballot measures to close the airport have been withdrawn, an analysis of the recent mandatory city reporting shows that the Airport Neighborhood Campaign was funded by only four people, two who are County residents, and was used primarily to hire paid petition gatherers. Yet, the effort pushed the city into a costly lawsuit with the FAA.
Analyzing the Airport Neighborhood Campaign report, they raised a total of $23,309, including in-kind contributions. The number one donor, representing more than 60% of the cash contributions, was Hepburn Ingham, who donated $13,499 and owns a Boulder County property 0.4 mile from the end of Runway 08. He is a frequent noise complainer and airport antagonist. Laura Kaplan the campaign organizer, was the second largest donor at $5,716.
Without any public discussion or notice, the City of Boulder filed a lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration on July 26, 2024. The committee raised no money since early May, so one could conclude that they had no intent to run a campaign. They wished only to mislead the city into taking unprecedented measures to disable the airport.
“These disclosures show they just duped the city staff, City Council, and the public. It was not a grassroots effort at all, but bought and paid for by four donors, two who live in the County, who then hired paid petition gatherers. There was no groundswell of support to close the airport. The entire effort was a charade funded primarily by a disgruntled neighbor who has now cost the city up to $750,000 suing the FAA. It was an abuse of the ballot measure process,” states Jan Burton, Chair of the Save the Airport Committee.
Our own Save Boulder Airport committee, organized to protect the airport and defend against the ballot measure, reported 118 total contributors, for a total of $42,384, and no contribution over $2001.00. This was truly a grassroots effort, including many Boulder city and county residents who thought the push to close the airport was unjust and not inclusive or reflective of public opinion, and detrimental to the fabric and future of our Boulder community. For one, the broader Boulder County residents that the airport serves through flood and fire rescue operations would not have been able to vote on the ballot measures to close it, and the students under 18 that the airport currently provides educational outreach, scholarships, and aviation training to would not have been able to vote on their own future. Multiple residents have reached out to us to have their voices heard on this issue.
It’s no wonder the Airport Neighborhood Campaign withdrew the ballot measure. They had used all of their money on paid signature gatherers who misled the public, saying the ballot measure was to support affordable housing. Fewer than 10 people, including former and current Council members, a current Planning Board member, and a current Housing Advisory Board member, as well as two significant donors misled the City into thinking it was a broadly-supported measure. The city took the unprecedented step of filing a lawsuit against the FAA, which will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, or perhaps millions of dollars if they continue down this path.
The messages we must send to the City, City Council, and the press is the following:
Thank you again for your support. For those of you who requested a prorated return of your donation, we have mailed the checks. We will continue to keep you updated and will continue to work to protect and preserve the Boulder Airport.

Hi guys, I am just looking for some places with a good cozy atmosphere. They don't have to be super chill or anything, just nice spaces that feel like welcoming I guess. It could be a restaurant, coffee shop, or even like a bookstore. Just any place with good energy. Also, they don't have to just be in Boulder, just anywhere relatively close, even Denver ok.
Thanks!! :)
Here is an article, there have been no news articles about an arrest or anything....
The Nederland Boys Basketball program is hosting a 3on3 tournament fundraiser for the program. There will be both high school and 18+ divisions. Games will be Saturday, October 19th at Nederland HS.

Diagonal backed up from Jay to Gunbarrell. Thought I’d be smart and try to go around, but they’ve also closed off Jay completely. It’s taking 45 minutes to get from Funbarrell to downtown Boulder.
My car struggles at the very end of going up flagstaff to lost gultch overlook. Will I be fine driving up to black hawk on Rd 70 and Gap rd?

Title says it all. Wondering if the emails are just taking longer than expected to be sent out, or if I made a mistake on my end.

Anyone have any recommendations for a local winter CSA box? Curious what’s been included in past seasons boxes!
hello! i’m new in the city and i would really love recommendations for socialising/community activities in the city. i’m at cu boulder and i’m hella queer. what are some fun things to do here, especially something that involves meeting/befriending new people?
If anyone lives near shanahan ridge on Lehigh street, someone clipped my car and blew off my side mirror. I found it shattered and destroyed ten yards away. I’m parked right up against the curb. Wondering if it was a cyclist because there are lip and nose marks on the front of my car. Whoever they were they didn’t leave a note and it’s absolutely destroyed. This was right in front of 1875 Lehigh. Any help is appreciated.
where can i get my nails done that does like lots of gems and add-ons and just blings out the nails?
As the title says, Audrey Jane's Pizza Garage has started being open on Mondays now!
That's all.
This is an ADA need, but realistically not every dentist office is trained to safely accommodate.
Due to an immune deficiency, we need an office with a 100% masked environment with HEPA filtration. Or, a mobile dentist (that serves patients outside of senior communities).
I am struggling to find an option and wonder if anyone in the area has recommendations. Can travel to Fort Collins or Denver metro if needed. Thanks!
Does anyone have any recommendations on good dog trainers in Boulder or surrounding areas? Or tips on trainers to avoid?? I just adopted a 4 year old female pitbull terrier and want to get her the best training possible. She’s very sweet and well behaved so far, however she doesn’t like other dogs very much, and as we know Boulder has lots of dogs. Any suggestions on where to take her are appreciated!!
Hi! I have out of state family coming to visit who want to explore and have already done all the quintessential Boulder things, checked out Ned, Estes, and Lyons, and hit some key Denver/Golden attractions.
I’m trying to brainstorm places to take them that might be farther afield but still drivable from our base here in Boulder (think an overnight somewhere.) They enjoy gentle hikes and nice views but aren’t hard core outdoors people so camping is probably not on the table. They also love exploring cute towns, and local art and history.
Given the season - my lack of all wheel drive, and lack of true snow tires (I have mud/snow rated all seasons) if we go into the mountains I’d prefer to stay on the beaten path, and have the ability to back out if it snows. And on season Vail is out of our price range anyway lol.
Are there any hidden gems I should be aware of? Or should we just go explore Ft. Collins or something lol.
Or if you have suggestions for less well known activities closer to town, I’d love those ideas too!!
The Verizon outage detector is saying that there were no outages in the area, but there is otherwise nothing wrong with my phone and I have tried everything to troubleshoot it (yes, including power cycling). I've been on hold with Verizon for 30 minutes, and no dice. Construction related, perhaps?
Good morning. I'm trying to help a friend in North Boulder who has recovered three bikes that were most likely stolen. They have been in contact with the police, who didn't have any records of the bikes being reported as stolen. Hopefully we can make a connection here.
The bikes don't appear on Bike Index. They are all mountain bike style. The brands are: Diamondback Schwinn Mongoose
If you think one of them might be yours, please DM me with more details about the bike and I'll confirm if we have a match!
I went to Corwin in hopes of looking at a few cars. When I got there, they told me they had one of the cars I was interested in but the others were on back order - idk, the whole lot is filled with cars. I felt like they were trying to mess with me. Anyway, the dealer tried to push me into a plug in hybrid - okay. But they wanted to pocket the $12k in government rebates and charge me MSRP for the car. Plus, the price they listed as MSRP was about 5k more than the MSRP listed on toyota's website. When you ask all these questions, they just play dumb. I just got up and walked out - they didn't even show me the cars we were interested in!
Is there a toyota dealer in the area that doesn't play these stupid games.
It has large tires and a 420cc engine. Can run 40-50 mph. If so what do I need to know?
For all the recovering Marylanders in the area, the Baltimore Orioles' playoff run begins this week! I'll be decked out in my finest orange & black at Bambei Brewing Company for games Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (if necessary) at 2pm each day. Come join us for beer, food, and a few 3-run home runs!
All Boulder Valley School District students are going to be out of classes tomorrow.
I'll be moving to Boulder in about a month, and I'm curious whether there are any churches of similar character to the one I've been a part of the last few years where women are encouraged to teach, LGBTQ+ folks are embraced, and the text of the Bible is interpreted through the lens of its original historical context. Took me forever to find something like that where I've been, so I can only hope to be so fortunate again. Based on what I've been reading on this sub, I guess I'm looking for the ideological opposite of The Well. Anything like that within reach of us?
